    Great Mouse but too slow

    • Written by from Arvada

This is a great feeling mouse, the scrolling and clicking work very well but...... with the latest software update and the fastest setting for tracking that is available it is about half as slow as a mighty mouse. This is a real problem on largish (mine is a 24" iMac) display.

Lovely Design...not so Lovely when Designing.... (Not very ergonomic)

    • Written by from Lexington

The mouse looks so sleek and great and functions well as a wireless device etc. Props there, however as a Graphic Designer I use the mouse all day long every day. Since getting a new imac and this mouse I've noticed unusual pain in my hand and wrist after using the mouse for long periods of time. A more ergonomic mouse would be make my job that much more wonderful!

    Great Mouse

    • Written by from FLORENCE

I got this mouse when I bought my iMac. It works great! I have two problems with this mouse though. Every once in awhile my iMac can not find it, and I must turn it off and turn it back on, but then it works just fine. Also there is no middle click, so it makes it almost impossible to use for gaming, in fact I use my Magic Mouse for everything except for gaming. Other then that no problems.

No carpal tunnel strain with this mouse

    • Written by from Paris

I use this mouse all day, every day and it is the only mouse that I have that does not give me carpal tunnel strain.
    For me, that is priceless.

Worked for a couple of months

    • Written by from BLOOMINGTON

I love the mouse. But today started getting the "Connection lost" syndrome. Even with a fresh set of batteries and the control panel showing 100% and a reboot. I'll see how long I can tolerate this and if it doesn't get better I may have to go the Logitech route. Shame too because it is easy to use left or right handed.

    For College Students

    • Written by from la quinta

This mouse is quite nice. It is sleek and it is beautiful. However, if you are in college and are debating whether or not to get this mouse, i would suggest no. I bought this and i am rather unhappy with the dual finger swipe options. If you have a laptop, do not get the mouse. Buy lion and use the trackpad. It is better and more convenient. Don't be like me and have it sit near your computer all the time and never use it.

    Cons overide pros.

    • Written by from Swampscott

Overall I think that this mouse Isn't so great. As just a mouse it isn't so bad. But you aren't paying for just a mouse. You are paying for a mouse and the trackpad capability. The trackpad works on it although it tends to get in the way a lot. Ill be just trying to simply click or just move the mouse and accidentally slide my fingers in a way causing the screen to shift in an assortment of ways. The scroll wheel isn't very responsive as well and I prefer an actual wheel. Another fault would be finding a material that it scrolls well on. It seems to stick and not slide very well on an assortment of materials. Besides the cons it is a very nice looking and helpful mouse if you need it. If you are just looking for a normal mouse defiantly dont buy this.

Awesome concept, great first couple months. Started losing connection a lot even after batteries were replaced. Fell off my desk and broke like a crystal figurine. Now I'd farther use a $10 Logitech wireless mouse that takes less batteries and never loose connection then pay $70 to replace the Mighty Mouse.

    Great idea, poor execution

    • Written by from TACOMA

Thank god I got this thing for free--I'll be dipped in dung before I ever pay $69 for it. What can I say? I'm a huge Mac lover, in my eyes they can usually do no wrong, but they missed the mark with this guy. Beautiful to look at, but its technology is flawed. I got this one second-hand after my Mighty finally died. First off, whose idea was it to put the mouse on skis? The little black plastic strips on the bottom are moronic. Using it on a mousepad doesn't work; it gets stuck on the fibers, and I tried it on a brand new one. The mouse makes an irritating scraping, sliding noise when used directly on my desk, which is IKEA white veneer and completely flat and smooth. I've tried it on every type of surface imaginable and it's the same old story: the tracking is whack. I try adjusting its settings but it's stubborn as a mule. The pointer floats around and basically just does whatever it wants, which is usually nothing. I find myself having to pick the mouse up and put it back down to get it to where I want. That's fun. The indistinguishable buttons are lovely--to look at. But I always find myself clicking more towards the middle of the two, which gives me both a menu and selection. Annoying! The swype scrolling is also a nice idea but I find it exhausting to use because it scrolls too fast and jumpy. And on websites such as Google Maps, where scrolling controls the zoom-in/out feature, it's a nightmare. The slightest touch and suddenly you're looking at the map from outer space, WTH...Apple, I love you guys but just stop. You can do better!

    Magic mouse works great

    • Written by from NEW ROCHELLE

I've had the mouse for a couple of years and no complaints. I have it on a mouse pad, it does everything it's suppose to do. Battery life varies but I think I get at least 2 or 3 months out of batteries.

Don't leave your uncharged batteries in. It happened to me. I tried to changed them for new ones and it wouldn't go on. On Technical Support they said that it died. And that the warranty works for only 3 months. You would expect more form an Apple product and as an industrial designer myself I feel very dissapointed.

Once you get the hang of repositioning your hand from a typical mouse position, this thing is flawless. Tracking is great, and I have had no problems with connectivity. Plus, there is no USB receiver (which are easily misplaced) because it connects using Bluetooth.

Unfortunately , I am disappointed in the battery life of this product. I love everything about it except the fact that I am constantly replacing batteries. Have had this mouse now for almost one year and wish that it worked as great as Apple's other products..

    Smashed against the wall

    • Written by from Panama

I love everything mac, but this is the most frustrating device i have ever owned. Maybe it works fine for irrelevant tasks like surfing the web, browsing through your desktop. But when it comes to performing tasks that require precision such as video editing, scrolling through timelines, positioning the cursor over an exact keyframe, adding or deleting points from masks or shapes, this mouse is totally useless and makes work so much more difficult and complicated. If you are a video or design professional, stay away from this mouse, it is only made to look nice, surfing the web or scrolling through itunes playlists, for serious work get a normal mouse or a digital pen tablet.

Best Mouse apple has ever built

    • Written by from Eugene

I've been a mac technician for over 10 years and a mac user since 1984. IMHO it's the best and only decent mouse apple's ever made. 4 out of 5 of my customers don't use the apple mouse that came with the mac they own because they don't like them. I also have used after market mice from Macally and M$ on all my Macintosh machines for years. This mouse is amazing as just a normal mouse using right, left and scroll without the rest of the features. It works on any surface I have tried it on, it fits comfortably in my hand more so then other common mice.

I am switching from your garden variety m$ and logitech usb mice and I'm quite pleased. For all these years I've never liked any of the mice Apple has manufactured, those silly round ones and the one clickers, the ball that just didn't work properly. This mouse is fantastic! Magic!

Two things I wish it did do: 1, the four finger expose gesture and 2, a circular gesture to scroll through programs such as Logic, Pro Tools, Garage band, cover flow, Final Cut pro like a click wheel would.

Cons: It's a little heavy but that's because it's built like a tank with an eco friendly Aluminum bottom. None of these things are major and I still give this mouse 5 starts, Good Job Apple.

I am so very happy with this Magic Mouse!

    • Written by from Hopkins

I am so very glad I don't have to keep fighting to keep my wired mouse's button working! It was awful! Awful? It was a nightmare!! Especially while I was working and on the clock. And there is no cord for the cat to chew! It may sometimes seem sensitive, but it is no where near the aggravation I had trying to keep that scrolling button working on my other mouse. And the seeming sensitivity problem may be with the application - not the mouse. I think it is GREAT!
