    Stylish mouse with useful features!

    • Written by from Tracy

Most people dont like the mouse saying its uncomfortable, but i personally love it!
The way you can scroll just brings lion more to life with my macbook from 2010(i think its 2010.. mayb 2011.) that doesnt have the newest track pads. :)

    Sexy. Useful. and entertaining.

    Almost perfect

    • Written by from Chambersburg

I had read both positive and negative reviews of this mouse before making my decision. The positive's far exceeded the negatives so I took the plunge. Bottom line, the mouse is brilliant and it works as advertised. Movement is sharp (even for a wired or USB mouse) and crisp and there is zero noticeable Bluetooth lag you normally see from other manufacturers. The button(s) are responsive and whether on a mouse pad or desktop, the unit moves around freely.
Now for the caveats: Because this mouse is sleek, it is difficult for me to use it for long periods of time, comfortably. If you have big hands, this may not be the mouse for you. Second, it is sensitive so if you set it up for left click/right click operation and you have big hands, you will right click when you meant to left click and vice versa...there is no avoiding it.
Neither of these 'negatives' are the fault of the device itself and are only meant as warnings to others with large hands.
I give it four stars simply because it is not made for everyone. However, functionality wise I would say it is 5 stars!

    Excellent Mouse, but...

    • Written by from Regina

I mainly bought this mouse so I can use the functionality with my MBP. I find it a bit heavy, and the clicks some time isn't as responsive. I downloaded MagicPrefs to tweak a few settings to make it better. The swiping/gestures works great. Its awesome when i'm surfing the web and navigating. It will take time to get use to thats for sure. Still a good product, but I still prefer my logitech mouse with certain computer tasks.

    Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Temple City

This mouse is beautiful. It looks so cool next to my MacBook pro. It drags on a plain wooden table and is a bit quirky. Maybe my hand is too big or not sensitive. Swiping isn't intuitive for me. For everyday use, I prefer my $20 Logitech M510. I don't think I could do a 8 hour workday on a Magic Mouse.

    Great product for some.

First off, I love this mouse. I got my MM about 6 months after it was released and it has not disappointed me at all. To address the title of this review, the MM is not for everyone. I've been editing photos and videos for about 8 years now and the MM has improved my editing process quite a bit with its touch surface. Taking things up a notch, there are 3rd party apps that allow you to CUSTOMIZE the entire surface of the mouse. As for those who probably will not benefit from the MM are gamers. If you need to click both the left and right side of the mouse, don't bother with this mouse. For those who just use their computer for everyday use, it's a nice touch.

    Beautiful but tracks too slowly

    • Written by from Vancouver

I bought this mouse in conjunction with my MacBook Air because no trackpad on a PC laptop has ever been as precise as a traditional mouse. Had I known how great the multi-touch trackpad on the MacBook is I never would have bought the mouse. It simply isn't needed.

Even with the tracking sensitivity set to max in system prefs the mouse takes too large a hand movement to track from one side of the screen to the other. I have always had a very very sensitive mouse on Windows machines and I simply cannot adjust to this mouse.

The built in swipe/scroll gestures are a great innovation but still limited compared to the gestures available on the MacBook trackpad.

Apple has all but made the traditional mouse obsolete for most users with their large and easy to use trackpad.

    Magic Mouse

    • Written by from LAGUNA NIGUEL

I replaced my wired mouse about a years ago, got tired of wire getting in the way, the Magic Mouse works great, so much more convenient and functional than my wired mouse, the only complaint I have is that I have to replace the batteries every couple of months, that's not too bad since I use my computer about 8 hours a day five days a week.

Can't imagine using any other mouse

    • Written by from NAPA

The magic mouse isn't perfect, but once you get used to it, other mouses (mice) are clunky, with wheels and buttons. The ergonomics are good too. Once in a while I lose the connection, but it usually pops right back.

Using this mouse all day, everyday.

    • Written by from Bolingbrook

I just started using this mouse about three weeks ago, I am on the computer most of the day with my job. The only thing I see that I don't like is the edge of the mouse is
sharp. It needs to be smoother. For someone like me that works all day with my hand on the mouse it is a bit annoying. I hope this is changed on the next mouse they create. Otherwise I like the way it functions, so I am giving it 4 stars because of this.

Don't listen to other reviews Im literally using this on my bed, with no mouse pad of any sort right now and its working FLAWLESSLY. This thing is probably the best things Ive ever bought myself since i got my MacBook Pro.

The only thing that stinks is the price.

    Pretty Good

It takes some time getting used to, that's for sure. And 70 bucks? Expensive. But considering this is apple we're talking about....

    I would recommend this.

    Works OK

    • Written by from HOPKINTON

I got this mouse with a Mac Pro about 1.5 years ago. Also got the Apple battery charger and Apple batteries. Everything works fine, although it's sometimes a bit sensitive (scrolls or zooms when I don't want it to if I accidentally use an unintended gesture). Somewhat surprised at some of the negative comments. Top surface is smooth (not sticky), rechargeable batteries work fine, nothing has broken during the time I've had it, I have been able to edit images in Photoshop, speed seems fine and easily adjustable (I have a 27 inch monitor, so I would certainly notice if it was too slow). Batteries seem to need recharging every few weeks or so (not every day). I've used a variety of other mice with Macs, PCs, Unix workstations, and this seems as good as any I've used (but of course there are many others I haven't tried). Basically satisfied with it.

    It's ok. Works for me.

    • Written by from Hercules

Yeah it doesn't right click, so if you are putting microsoft or some other big right click using program in your MAC computer, you need a different mouse. And the battery cover comes off once each couple weeks and I put it back on in 20 seconds.
But with my mac mini no problem. I don't even use a track pad-just the tabletop. And there's a bump on my table where a finishing nail rises up on the surface and I hit it about once every 2 weeks with the mouse and knock off my battery cover, put the cover back on then I go pound the nail down again.
I also rest the heel of my hand on the table while I finger scroll. I can rest my thumb on one side and little finger on the other side on the table for rest also. If your hands are small you could only rest on one side.
This is not a horrible mouse like the old hockey puck mouse. Go to a mac store, best buy, etc if you can and try one.
My only complaint: it eats batteries every 3 months so to be ecological you need rechargeable batteries. I've had this mouse 1 & 1/2 years.

A great accessory for your Mac Book Pro

    • Written by from GOLDEN

When it comes to wanting to do some true graphic design, development, general use, or gaming on your Mac Book Pro, this is a must have tool. It allows you to sit back and work from afar without the need of wires, while having the amazing combination of a trackpad and a mouse, this truly is a "magic" mouse. It is definitely a must have for any mac user.

Best mouse but it has its fallbacks

    • Written by from Kirkland

I've tried many other mice and this is the best one i have found. i love the design and after a long day using it my hand doesn't hurt. The one problem is that I have had the right click go out on me a couple of times. But i took it to the apple store and they replaced it free of charge.

    I love this ... but

    • Written by from Harrogate

I love the design, the feel, and the speed of using it.
But, I am having big problems with it, after using the mouse for about 6 weeks, the mouse's connection to the computer became unreliable. It seems to happen for no apparent reason, and the issue has progressively got worse. Now it doesn't work at all.
I find this so frustrating because the magic mouse is great, in fact I love my magic mouse ... when it works.
I have read that other people are having this problem too. Apple please sort this issue out because you have what is otherwise a fantastic product.

The mouse is great! I use it at work and home. But sometime when I touch my Apple mouse I feel like I am touching a razor, particularly when I am working in a cold room and aluminium body and sharp sides makes that feeling even worse.

    Want a corded one.

    • Written by from Hyde Park

We have had our iMac for 2 years now and the magic mouse seems to go through more batteries than ever, plus it seems that something isn't quite doing its job of always being powered even when the batteries are new. Now I wish that apple would make the magic mouse with a cord, because honestly I get sick of buying batteries. I have already tried one of those rechargeable things as my son bought me one and it did not work that well either. I just wish that they had this mouse with a cord so that it could be powered with the same electricity as the computer.
