    Rubbish.

    • Written by from Victorville

Terrible!!!! Lasted 3 months. It better be under warrantee. I just bought my Macbook Pro at the towards the end of Oct. 2011, and I bought Apple care so I'm expecting this to be covered. I am new to Mac, and instantly fell in love with OS X. But the hardware is garbage. My screen hinge broke within the first month and a half, took a week to get it fixed, now this. Just another inconvenience.

    Flimsy, Flimsy, Flimsy

Come on Apple, it is long past time you made these sturdier. Or, make it possible to replace the cord at a cheaper price. It just isn't reasonable to treat a power adapter as a consumable.

    Failure

    • Written by from Ronse

This is the main focus of my apple frustrations (i have others) the product can't handle anything. In owning a macbook for one year i had one fail by itself, one fail when falling from not even a foot and one fail due to poor design. Apple work on this! The simple fact that in my warranty period i had to have this replaced 3 times (paying for it three times) is a simple disgrace for your brand

    I hate MacBook chargers.

    • Written by from Oxford

I am on my 4th MacBook charger in the past 3 years. These things just do not last. I have used both the old and new designs and neither are reliable. The charger I am using now barely connects and I have to fidget around with it for it to work properly. Apple needs to come up with a new design.

I am about to order a new charger, just because I have to, not because I like them.

    ANNOYED

    • Written by from Mississauga

My cord went out just like everyone else in here and i have had this mac for a little over a year and I'm not happy that i have to spend more money on a cord that should work. To me that doesn't make any sense whats so ever. The mac book is great but replacing a charger that goes out is not good at all.

    New MagSafe Power adaptor

    • Written by from Silver Spring

We have gone through two $79 magsafe power adapters in the last 14 months. You have to admit that the design is very cool in appearance, however the devise doesn't last. Apple really needs to take a look at what people are saying in these on-lin reviews and redesign the charger. The problem is with the magnetic connector which connects into the MacBook. We have found that this is the weak link in the charger and the connector fails within about 7 months under normal use. Replacing these chargers is getting rather expensive and frustrating. APPLE ENGINEERS - WAKE UP AND PLEASE READ THESE REVIEWS!!!!

    Cupertino is disappointed!!

    • Written by from San Jose

Worst Apple product by far! Bought my Macbook Pro in May 2010 and my adapter died Sept 2011. If I knew the charger sucked, I wouldn't have bought the Mac, considering it's an integral part for the computer. Ended up spending $79 for a new charger! They need to recall these if so many people are having the problems.

    Worst Charger EVER!!!

    • Written by from Kapolei

I will go to say i love all apple products, BESIDES this poorly constructed magsafe charger they manufacture... I only had my macbook pro for 8 months, and im already on my 3rd charger... My second charger broke less than under a month, and i babied it like a child (especially after the 1st one broke)... I will also add that i am no power user either... i have the same charger cable for my blackberry which i have been using for almost 4 years!!! In fact, out of all the cables, wires, chargers I've ever owned in my entire life, these magsafe chargers have given me the most headaches - NO JOKE!!! if your constantly adjusting your cable to get your computer to charge, BEWARE, soon your cable will fry up (at least thats what happens to mine shortly before they break!!!) Poorly constructed cables id give these guys NEGATIVE 5 stars if i could!

    Freaking HORRIBLE!!

    • Written by from Gainesville

I bought my first Mac in August 2010 and I needed to buy a new charger four months later! It just stopped charging and purchased a new one for over$70. Ridiculous! As much as I pay for the sleek, efficient mac book I would expect just as good quality when it comes to accessories but I guess Apple needs to get its extra buck in somewhere. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED...

The replacement chargers from amazon works better.

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I bought this last year and in one month of usage it stopped working. I don't normally leave my laptop plugged in all the time when i'm using it but this product was poorly made. I bought a replacement charger from amazon it lasted for about like 3 months which is still bad but atleast i don't have pay 80 dollars a month, with the replacement i pay about like 20-30 dollars. Times are hard apple! The only reason why I got a macbook was because i always had a problem with windows, please would you do something about this. Or i might just stop buying products from you guys

    Terrible!

    • Written by from macon

I must buy a zillion of these things a year! They are so terrible... I learned early how non-durable these things are and have thus treated them like fine china, but has that helped extend their lifespan? Not. At. All. I bought one about two months ago and it's just died on me. Another $70 dollars down the drain! I think I've spent enough money replacing chargers the past five or so years that I could have bought myself a brand new macbook pro!

    Disappointed

    • Written by from Baltimore

I've had my Macbook for less than a year and my charger just went out. I wish it would have lasted longer than 9 months considering I paid a lot of money for the computer itself and need it to be charged for schoolwork. If the price wasn't so high it would make the situation a lot less frustrating.

2 Macbooks, 2 Adapters, Same Fate

    • Written by from Fort Rucker

Have to admit, I have no desire to spend $200 on new adapters my me and my wife. Our macbooks are "deskbooks" and never go anywhere, yet both adapters are broken. I have a black one, she has a white one, and both adapters are dying. Her's is falling apart, mine won't charge the battery unless I wiggle and lick it (yes, lick it). While I love the computers, this is ridiculous. Apple, you've got to do better! I've had macs for years and it wasn't until MagSafe that chargers became unreliable.

Part near the Magsafe always tearing

    • Written by from Edmonton

Price does not match the quality of these chargers. Apple seriously makes the worst quality cables. Third charger I had to get within 4 years of owning my Macbook Pro. Cable always rips. If the quality is going to be this bad, please consider lowering the prices of these poor quality products if we're always going to be replacing them.

This is the most embarrassing product apple makes. How can a company charge $80 for a charger that is only going to last a year?

My chargers have always stopped working with no signs of damage on the outside.

    Cord is ripping

    • Written by from Toronto

I haven't even had my MacBook Pro for one year (just 7 months), and the cord on the charger is already ripping down the middle. I don't take my charger out with me - it stays home, plugged in, beside my bed. It makes absolutely no sense for the cord to rip this early on without constantly travelling or being rough with it. Very disappointed.
