    bad batteries

    • Written by from Yorba Linda

Doesn't hold charge! I should have read more comments before i bought this.

My keyboard is at 73% fully charges and mouse was at 80%. I have a 2009 iMac and I use 3 AA batteries for my keyboard and 2 for my mouse. Since I Bought them yesterday, my mouse is now at 60% in one day and I didn't really use it that much. Got home around 4pm, charged them and it is now 10:45 the following day and its slowly dying!

The Only positive thing is there is no restocking fee! Im returning them and trying duracell or something.

    Disappointing for Apple

    • Written by from Pompano Beach

Bought 2 of these expecting Apple's normal superior performance but was disappointed. They are no better than the re-chargeables I purchased at the grocery store. Run out quickly and the chargers are quirky.

    Batteries never fully recharge

    • Written by from Milwaukie

I seem to be having the same problem that many others are having with this product.

I've been using my Apple Battery Charger for 3 months, have had to recharge the batteries many times, and they never recharge to more than 75%. Yesterday I recharged the mouse batteries until the light turned green (it took a few hours), and today I got the little warning window that my mouse batteries are LOW. It's showing 10% power today after doing a full recharge yesterday.

I'm really disappointed in this product. Seems like a good idea but in reality, it's just not practical to have to recharge these batteries as often as this product requires.

Solid product. My biggest complaint is that apple doesn't seem to be supporting the product very well. I couldn't find the manual for this unit in the "manual" section on Apple.com. Wasn't "sure" what the lights meant I've seen 1) Solid Amber 2) Flashing Amber and 3) Green. Over time I've figured it out. Flashing Amber is the one to watch for, it means you don't have the batteries seated properly, took me two days of "not charging" batteries to figure that out. Amber is charging and Green is good-to-go. Apple should have made it clear. Also Apple is getting a lot of bad press on this site because

!!!YOU WON"T GET MORE THAN 85%!!!

battery life with this product but thats the nature of rechargeable batteries. They should really HIGHLIGHT that so people aren't surprised. However I LOVE the charger, they work as promised and the price was excellent. Good job and very Earth Friendly Apple.

    Works Just Fine

    • Written by from Little Rock

I have had these batteries since 12/10 and I have been using them in my Apple Magic Mouse and a Logitech Wireless mouse. I have put each battery through several charging cycles and they charged up like a champ. I get several months usage out of each charge and I can get them back in the mouse after a couple hours charge. No Complaints at all. Sure you can buy any rechargeable battery to do the same thing, but these are way better looking.

    Light would not stop blinking

    • Written by from Oak Park

I purchased this charger from the apple store because I have a wireless mouse. However, only one set of batteries would fully charge. When the other batteries were placed in the charger, the light would not stop blinking and they would not charge.

This product is visually elegant, but not up to Apple quality standards. I was able to return the charger to the store however, I really wish that it had worked.

If using Wireless Mounse and keyboard together

    • Written by from Los Angeles

If you turn off the mouse after you are finished using it, or at least while you sleep, you will find that you get much more life out of your batteries, both the rechargeable type and regular batteries.

Best battery charger I have ever used!

    • Written by from Altamonte Springs

I bought this charger on September 2010, along with my iMac and a Magic Trackpad. By that time, it was fairly new on the market, so I bought it with huge skepticism. I'm happy to report that I was wrong: these batteries last a very long time and they keep charging exceptionally well. It's been almost two years since I bought them, and I have charged them about 20-30 times... I guess it's because I only use them with my Wireless Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Trackpad, but still, they're the best batteries I have ever used. I can definitely recommend them!

It is a good buy. I've had it for more then 2 weeks and it is great!. But I don't know how Apple gets away with the price of 29.99. But I think it is worth it because when you need a charged pair of batteries you know that you have batteries that you trust.

    Does not hold a charge

    • Written by from Seattle

Overall ratings seem high for this product, so perhaps the pack I received is faulty, but I experience significant battery drain when the batteries are sitting unused. I use 2 batteries in an Apple wireless mouse, 2 batteries in an Apple wireless keyboard and keep the last 2 charged and on hand to swap out with the first wireless device that goes down. The unused batteries went down from (presumably) 100% to 55% from the time they were charged to when they were swapped with my mouse (about a week's time). Either (1) the charger is indicating a full charge when it is actually incomplete or (2) the batteries do not hold a charge when sitting unused. Either way, from my experience, I could not recommend these over other rechargeables.

Had this product for about a year -- things were great. But as other users have commented the batteries themselves are awful! They all stopped working at pretty much the same time. Won't be picking up another one of these.

This is another perfect product from apple.

The reason the batteries don't charge to 100% but instead to abut 80% is so the batteries last longer..!

I bought the Magic Trackpad and love it. I bought the Battery Charger and an extra set of batteries for the Trackpad, and the Charger would not charge either set of batteries after a couple of uses. I returned the Charger and the extra batteries to my local Apple Store, and the Store replaced the Charger and extra batteries with new ones. The new Charger and batteries stopped charging after several uses. I'm switching to Duracell.

    Very short lifetime

    • Written by from Oregon

Pros: The batteries it comes with are high capacity, they last a lot longer than normal batteries out of the box and after a few charges.
Cons: After a couple months of charging both Apple's NiMH and some other brand NiMH batteries, the charger always just flashes orange and doesn't charge any batteries at all. This happened to me twice. Because of this, I cannot recommend buying this charger.

    Apple Battery Charger

    • Written by from Manhattan

Works good. Batteries seem to last several months in Keyboard and Mouse, and I use the computer at work all day. I do not turn off the mouse and keyboard at night, I just put the computer to sleep.

Pro: batteries hold charge for quite awhile when not in device, so are ready to use. Attractive and small charger. Compact packaging.

Cons: charger should hold 4 batteries at a time and you should get 8 batteries so you can use 4 and charge 4. Other chargers I have, that are similar, the lights flash when charging, when they are charged lights stop flashing. This one the light turns amber to green when finished charging. I am color blind so can't tell when it turns to green. Or if it is green and they are charged when I put them in.

    First Day

    • Written by from Dublin 9

Just receive this charger at work and recharged a pair of batteries straight ahead. I kept them on charge for around 4 hours, maybe 5. The led was green anyway. When I came back home I tried both the two batteries I charged in my mouse (100%) and two as they come from the box (55%). I'd say it's working grand. we'll see in few months time and after few cycles of charge. P.s. I love the design and the fact that there is no cable.

Along with 6 more NiMh batteries supplied with this unit, it seemed to breathe new life into some older Ni-Mh 'AA' batteries I had lying around. Charges quickly with an informative, 3 color LED indicator.

    Good Value for the money!

    Great battery charger

    • Written by from waterford

The Apple battery charger is magnificent for a number of reasons :
    1. It's small and very easily portable
    2. The Batteries it comes with have a 10 year lifespan -double the industry standard!
3.It comes with 6 batteries, while most battery chargers will only come with 4 AA batteries.
    4. The packaging is minimal - great for the environment and make the box smaller.
    5. The battery compartment is magnetic- prevents batteries from slipping out if they're not completely in the charger.
    6. It can charge one battery if you only need to charge one battery- most battery chargers will only charge pairs of batteries together.

The only problem is that it only charges AA batteries. I wish Apple made an adapter so that the Apple Battery charger could be used to charge AAA batteries.
