    clean and works as advertised

    • Written by from Saint Louis Park

I use this charger with the 6 batteries it came with and am slowly adding other NiMH batteries as my devices need them. The charger works great with either and the Apple branded batteries outlast all others. I wish Apple sold expansion packs of batteries alone!

    Disappointing level of charge maintained

    • Written by from Medway

After my corded mouse finally went to heaven I had little choice but to move to wireless. My new magic mouse has performed satisfactorily so far - but it is the rate at which it eats battery charge that's unreasonable.

The design of the charger is excellent. It is the quality I have to question.

My local Apple store and a premium reseller in the same vicinity both told me they had three months usage from the Apple Charger and its batteries. On the strength of this I purchased but the actual performance has proved far from the quoted time scale.

After two or three charges I began to carefully mark the batteries to determine if particular ones were less powerful than others; I achieved a quite remarkable unanimity of performance.

I've also tried 2 sets of Duracell premium batteries. Their performance was slightly but not markedly worse.

I have an Apple iMac mid 2007 running Snow Leopard. I use my computer for about 3 hours per day and my average monthly bandwidth usage is less than 4GB. As a machine it has been excellent and I have no reason to think it is draining the battery due to any technical malfunction.

All in all it comes back to the charger and batteries. They meet less than 20% of the estimated performance, a figure that in some countries would give grounds for a charge of misrepresentation. I don't think like that - but I am very disappointed.

    Pros and Cons

    • Written by from Berkeley

    1. Stops sucking power once the batteries reach 100%. Supposed to anyway. This way you're not wasting energy when it's done charging like most chargers do.

    2. US plug can be converted to international.

    3. Looks nice

    1. Plug blades collapse inward when you try to plug it in.
    2. Seems to be charging after it's reached 100%. Light stays orange instead of green.
    3. Occasionally you'll set it up and find out there was an error, the status light is blinking and batteries weren't charged. Re-seating the batteries seems to help even if they were seated correctly to begin with.

The biggest waste of money ever on an Apple product

    • Written by from Greenville

The problem with this charger is simple. It doesn't recharge batteries. I had two rechargeable batteries in it for a week and it just plain didn't work. I am used to Apple having superior quality hardware. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.

    Just Awesome.

    • Written by from Edmonton

I have now purchased 5 sets of these batteries (I know.. I have a lot of devices that use AA). The longevity is excellent, and it doesn't take long to charge them. And since I have never needed to charge more than 2 at a time, the charger itself is the perfect size to be unobtrusive and easy to store. The batteries also hold their charge well when not in use, so even my spares will still have over 90% capacity when I need them, often months later. Have not seen any other rechargeable batteries perform this well.

I have had one instance of the charger light flashing amber, and the batteries themselves only being charged to about 40% after a whole night. One quick visit to the Apple Store, and I have a new charger and six new batteries, all working just fine, free of charge thanks to the 1-year Apple warranty.

All that, combined with an extremely reasonable purchase price for a set of quality batteries makes this a no-brainer. All of my devices now use these batteries.

Extremely unsatisfied customer this has been the third charger I have bought! It always manages to twist in the hard part of the charger where you connect your phone. It's a waste of money and a very poor product!!. Throughout my whole life I have never had a charger made of a soft flexible material. Wondering who had the brains and came with this product! Can't wait to switch to Samsung!

Good Charger, But Where is the 4 Battery Unit?

    • Written by from DES MOINES

I have two of these from various apple products at work and they have worked without issue. The only problem I have is that Apple only makes a two battery version. Why is there not a four battery or three battery version, since some things take three batteries like the keyboard I'm typing on right now.

Other than that, I get several months of use out of a charge for my mouse and keyboard with 5x8 use per week. So I'm happy with the battery performance.

Lousy product. A waste of money.

    • Written by from Dulles

After reading the reviews, I was concerned about buying this, but went ahead and bought it anyway. A mistake. It charged the batteries once. Since then, the amber flashing light goes on every time I try to charge. I'm using Apple's own batteries, straight out of the box and I've tried the suggestions in the forums: take out the batteries, put them in again, turn them with you finger. Done it repeatedly. Doesn't matter. The charger is no good. At this rate, you have a 50-50 change of getting one that works. This one's a stinker ... and a waste of money.

Simple, Efficient, Designed and Built to Last

    • Written by from Vancouver

Apple charger for $29 packs incredible value.

It is small, efficient, intuitive, lots of re-chargeable batteries, quality batteries that have much life in them.

Also, 1 year Apple warranty, which is hard to beat, as replacing the unit will be way easier if something goes wrong, as you do not need to ship it anywhere, just visit the local Apple store.

    Excellent Batteries!!!!

    • Written by from Fort Calhoun

I really like these rechargeable batteries. They work just fine. I never have to buy the batteries or toss them in the trash. They are super handy. I have had them for about a year. I am using them for my wireless keyboard for my iPad and magic trackpad.

    batteries don´t last much

    • Written by from Seattle

I bought these for my trackpad, after the salesperson said they were lithium ion. They are not lithium ion, and whereas the included non-rechargeable batteries lasted several months on the bluetooth trackpad, these last me around 2-3 weeks per charge. Slightly greener than buying non rechargeable batteries, but annoying.
I have a solar keyboard that never needs recharging. Much better.
Wish there was a solar trackpad, but haven´t found one so far.

    Long Lasting

    • Written by from Milford

I purchased the charger and batteries 3.5 years ago with my iMac for the keyboard and mouse and have had great results. The iMac has almost everyday use, and the batteries last 3-4 months. And, when they do die, it only takes a couple hours for a recharge. There has not been any drop in performance and no other complaints that come to mind. I would recommend these for everyone

Second time around - and it works well

    • Written by from Westcliff on Sea

My previous review was highly critical, due to the fact that the battery charger unit did not fit!

However, one call to Apple Customer Services, and within 24 hours I had a complete replacement. Sent back the defective unit this morning.

Great service from Apple and I have to say the charger is excellent.

    Nice design but poor performance

    • Written by from Granada Hills

It's a nice, stylish compact unit, but when it comes to the crunch the experience is not so nice. The batteries that come with the charger are pathetic, lasting a lot less time than other rechargeable batteries, meaning you will be continually changing out the batteries in your mouse.

The charger itself (and I must admit this may be down to the poor quality batteries, I'm not sure of the technical details) does a poor job of charging the batteries, often charging them to an incomplete level. Right out of the box the charger from time to time would give a blinking orange light suggesting the official Apple batteries are incompatible (this is when the batteries are seated correctly).

In short, chances are you already own a battery charger, and you're thinking about getting this to compliment your Apple products. If that's the case, I'd say: don't bother. Stick with another charger.

i purchased these batteries for my apple wireless keyboard about a month ago, and have been using one pair for almost a month now without ever recharging it. I use the keyboard 3 days a week for about 12 hours non-stop, and I am amazed how long one pair of batteries can last! Was sceptical before buying because many reviews said they don't last, but try it for yourself! They sure do work for me! VERY SATISFIED!!!

    Good Charger, Except...

    • Written by from Orleans

This is a great charger that charges fast. It's compact, sleek and doesn't take up much room. But when I got it, it only came with 2 batteries, NOT 6. I'll be calling Customer Support on this one. But besides that, you should get this charger because its so great. (You Probably won't have the problem I have.)

    They don't last long.

    • Written by from New York

They last about 17 days in the Magic Mouse with a usage of 10 hours a day.

After a year the charger and the batteries started acting up. It's hard now to get them to charge. Often the amber light will blink and i have to remove and reinsert the batteries and the charger a dozen times to get them to charge. This wasn't a problem in the first year and i don't do anything differently now.

It's interesting that the warranty expiry and the onset of problems coincide.

Meets or Exceeds Expectations - Good Price !!!

    • Written by from Longmont

I was very happy with this product. It worked as expected. The battery charge lasts a sufficient amount of time - although noticeably shorter than regular batteries. You just need to keep the 3 sets of batteries regularly charged as the batteries will lose their charge if they are just sitting around. For the affordable price - I would suggest getting two - if you have multiple Macs.
