    Two days!!!

I bought the white bumper and on my second day it's turning red. I set it on a red leather chair and it rubbed against it and turned red. Thanks a lot. I like the case but it changed colors already!!

    HORRIBLE!

Overall it doesn't protect your iphone! Scratches the metal side walls!!!! Even if people think "Plastic and Rubber are not > Glass and Steel, therefore it doesn't scratch" tons of junk easily are getting in between the case and the phone such as sand. So it renders the case useless from its original goal: protection. Its only effective if you have a full body screen protection along with the bumper, otherwise it is a horrible case. Furthermore, it tends to break easily -__-)

Great Look & Feel; Poor Construction & Durability; Scuffed Metal on iPhone

I got my bumper for free last year and have used it exclusively with my iPhone 4. I loved the way it looked and felt until it started braking apart last month. Now it's pretty much unusable. Even though $29 is overpriced for this bumper, I was planning on getting another one since it gives some level of protection, a nice grip and, most importantly, it doesn't detract from the iPhone look. Unfortunately, while my iPhone has no stractches on the exposed glass, it is severely scuffed on the metal band/antenna, which happens to be "protected" by the bumper. This is a serious flaw and for $29 it should do a much better job at protecting the metal around the iPhone 4.

    Bad Bumper

This item is horrible. I've had it for a little over 4 months and it is coming apart. It cost too much to last this little amount of time. I'll never purchase this again.

    Tearing apart

I liked the concept of the bumper...and liked the bumper initially. But it has stretched out, and now on both sides, the rubber part of the bumper has split and is tearing off. Disappointing from Apple.

    Scratches Aluminum Antenna!!!

This is the only Apple product I am very disappointed with. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I took off my bumper after seven months..nothing but scratches on the aluminum trim of the iPhone. I would say the only positive aspect of this item is the grip and this is why I rate it with two stars instead of one. The bumper's plastic is too, low quality because it eventually scratches and the rubber trim eventually starts to rip. If you strictly care about the appearance of your iPhone, I strongly suggest another iPhone case.

    black Bumper scratches the iPhone!

Guys, before you start using your black Bumper, buy a full body film to cover your headset( i.e. iWrap), otherwise your iPhone will get scratched all around. They say it is because of the dust and some other tiny things that come inside the bumper, but i used to clean the inner side of the bumper very often and i still got those scrathes. If you take a look closer to the inner side, you'll find out that the inner side of the bumper is not as flat and soft as it should be!

    Does not hold up.

In less than a year, case has become loose. It moves while in my pocket turning the mute switch off and on. Also has begun to tear apart. Can't believe Apple put it's name on this one. For $29 I would recommend a different case.

    rips apart

It works well while it lasts. The opening for docking isn't compatible with any older cords (even apple brand accessories) for charging, which means I have to take the bumper off to use my car charger, or sync with my iMac (only the new skinny wall adapter fits into this bumper). As a result, after only a couple of months the bumper began ripping apart at the edges and eventually just totally disintegrated. Not worth $30, but the best option i've seen so far.

    Scratches the metal rim

all corners and sides of my phone are scratched thanks to this bumper. I would've been better off buying a case-mate barely there than an apple product that does protect from low falls but at the end still leaves scratches and marks on the phone.

    idle bumper

I don't recommend buying such a bumper. I believe it is not worth the price you pay! My bumper went broken in 4 months since its purchase, literally piece by piece.

Worked ... For a few months

Simply put: it fell apart after a few months.

    Didn't Last

Got the bumper free with my iPhone 4. It lasted just over a week. After a few days, the rubber began separating from the plastic until the rubber eventually snapped off completely. Co-worker's lasted only a few days longer than mine did.

iPhone 4 bumper Black & White

I know I got the bumper for free when the phone was released but I would have expected it to have lasted longer than a month or two before it started to fall apart. That is both the black and white version of the bumper.
The top near the headphone jack pulls apart and the rubber peels from the plastic, (a weak point I'm guessing), also near the power jack the two sides peel away from the plastic as well, (another weak point I'm guessing).
It also makes the phone wierd to hold as it is very thick compared to the phone. Lastly, the white version of the bumper for some reason become very discoloured over time turning from a nice white/grey colour to a dull grey/black.

    Really not worth it

Here's the deal: The case looks good, doesn't add much bulk, and works well with screen/back protectors. That's about all that's good with it. I do like this case but I have a lot of complaints.

    - Doesn't fit non-standard dock connectors (must remove case)
    - Doesn't fit larger headphone connectors (must remove case)
    - Ring/vibrate switch is really tough to get to unless you have long nails
    - Pressure on the bottom can silence the speakerphone/block microphone
    - Secondary microphone hole too small
    - Rubber on front and back is not durable at all -- mine was completely destroyed after 6 months of delicate use. The case now barely stays on.

Go for a case with more protection and higher build quality. This one doesn't cut it (even though it was free).

    Not impressed

Overall, great look and feel (especially in white) but it isn't a very good case. It doesn't fit my Bose In-ear headphones because the hole is too small. The only headphones I that seem to fit for me are my Bose On-ear and the Apple pair that came with it.

Another thing, the case doesn't fit tight. So when you squeeze your iPhone when you hold it you can feel the case move which makes the case (and my phone for that matter) feel very cheap.

So two stars because it looks great and provides the protection needed (from damage and death grip) but it doesn't fit most headphones and feels cheap.

    Ok, but scratches your phone!

I had hoped that when Apple made a case for the iphone, it wouldn't have the problems other cases have had in the past. Not so! Car auxiliary jacks can't fit...also, some older iPod USB's won't fit. Thus, I have to take the case on and off frequently and I can't use previous accessories. This soon leads to scratching of the metal antennae. Also, the rubber is starting to tear away from the bottom, and the hard plastic frame has cracked in 2 places. I have not been rough on this case, but it's pretty wimpy! It has kept my iPhone safe on a few falls on carpet and berber, but that's about it.

Causes indelible scratches to the edges

This bumper case causes seemingly permanent scratches on the edges of the iPhone4. However, I haven't seen any case that retains the iPhone design like this one does. If you can live with the scratches, all well and good. I recommend you remove the case frequently for cleaning together with the iPhone. I just think it's annoying that the case made by Apple causes this sort of wear on the phone.

    Would be excellent but...

...most of the accessories I've bought from Apple require you to take the bumper off and then put it back on when you're finished. Eventually this stretches the rubber making it looser and breaks the plastic part at the bottom. I've had mine for about 5 months now and will have to buy another. I like it but it's a pity Apple's own accessories don't take it into account.

    Ok but not worth it!

So this product has some pros and some cons:
    Pros:
    1. I have the black one and the fact that apple gave them away free really makes it better.
    2. Its fits nicely around the phone where it is not too loose or too tight.
    3. The volume and lock buttons are metal so it resembles the actual phone nicely.
    4. The case maintains the shape of the phone to where it is still small unlike some cases that make it clunky.
    Cons:
    1. There is no back. When I got the case, I thought it would have a clear back like mine for the 3GS had. I was wrong.
    2. Not much protection. It is a thin piece of plastic lined with rubber.
    3. The price. This is my biggest issue with the case and if it didn't come free, I would of never boughten it. The look is nothing special and the price really puts a downer on it. $30 for this isn't worth it. Find another case or better yet buy one for half the price in a mall kiosk.
