    love it!

    • Written by from Ashland

the display is awesome and I especially love the ease of connectivity for all my peripherals, ethernet, etc, to my MacBook Pro being consolidated to the thunderbolt port and power port. so much easier now to disconnect and go and more aesthetically pleasing to have the wires all going in the back of the display rather than using all the laptop ports. great design.

The most painful monitors I have ever used.

    • Written by from Livingston

I don't know why people rave about the Thunderbolt displays. They are so shiny and reflective as to be virtually unusable in a room with any ambient light. Just plain awful.

    No matte option. Glare unbareable.

    • Written by from Denver

The matte screen protectors don't help. They make the monitor look blurry because there is a thick layer of glass in front of the screen. Matte films need to be part of the design.

    Gorgeous!

    • Written by from Fort Worth

The Thunderbolt display is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone that comes into my office comments on the crispness and clarity of the display. The additional USB 2, Firewire 800, and Thunderbolt ports greatly reduces the clutter of cables and hubs that used to litter the desktop space around my computer. The only downside I can think of is now my wife is going to want one for her MacMini.

    Awesome Display!!!!

    • Written by from Hammond

This display is so Awesome. Bought refurbished and can't be happier. The late 2012 Mac Mini and this display are a perfect match. The price is cheaper than any other 27" display with the same resolution. Don't buy junk, get this display.

    Great Investment for film/ photography

    • Written by from HORIZON CITY

This is an expensive (by most people's standards) investment, but one that is going to pay for itself down the road. I use this driven by my late 2011 MBP with a seagate TB hdd attached for media management. The resolution in this monitor allows me to do single window video editing in premiere pro and allows me to work on photographs in big clear detail. I love it!

    Awesome+++

    • Written by from allentown

Just purchased the MacBook Pro thunderbolt and Cinema Display thunderbolt. Monitor came with everything needed to connect. It instantly worked, just by connecting the cables. No screen flickering etc. as I have seen in previous reviews. Works 100%.

I am a professional Web Designer and this was the perfect solution. Thank you Apple : )

    Thunderbolt Greatness

    • Written by from concord

Just got my display from best buy very happy with it works fine on my MBP 15 none retina. Only quirk with it is that it slows boot up and shutdown by a good amount still to be expteaced with a massive display + pci compotes run threw the cable. Looking forward to using it with my windows rig as well rebuilding it to support thunderbolt :D
Pricey but by far the best quality on the market blows my LG led display out of the water. And no i'm not an apple fan boy just giving it a 5 star for no reason the quality stands out on its own. every new technology will have its quirks at least apple takes the time to fix them unlike many other manufactures.

    Was Nervous

    • Written by from Baton Rouge

I was nervous about this purchase based on some of the reviews I read here but once I got the unit home and hooked it up to a Mac Mini I am very pleased. In my opinion one of the ways Apple really stands out from other PC manufacturers is their displays... this monitor does not disappoint in that capacity and is an excellent companion to a Mac Mini and as a bonus adds three more usb and one firewire ports. Very well thought out!

    Best Monitor Period!

    • Written by from HIlo

Apple proves itself again to be the absolute best around. Just played bought and played Angry Birds "Star Wars" from the app store on my new mac mini and apple monitor with my son....and it was awesome!

By day I own and operate a web and graphic design firm and we have only bought iMacs up until now. This mac mini and monitor is for my home office and I couldn't be happier with this combo.

Highly recommend this combo...at least until the new 27" iMacs come out in December!

Love it!! it's easy to forget in the PC world....this sort of quality would cost you minimum 1200 bucks....and that doesn't even come with TB. Love the fact it has connector for power to my macbook. And I finally understand why they only do this in high gloss. It's easy to clean :).

    27" Thunderbolt Display WOW!

    • Written by from Copley

This is a terrific product. I have been using it with my 13" MacBook Air for the past several months with no major problems.

I do think the OSX Lion software still needs a little work. I am convinced Apple will continue to support this product fully for the forseeable future.

Beautiful display, but REALLY shoddy built-in cables will fail

    • Written by from Cody

The thunderbolt cable is built into the display. Great and all, except for the fact that it goes bad after moderate use with a laptop. I don't know what it is about Apple and cables, but – like iPhone cables – the cable is NOT tolerant bending from normal use. After awhile the screen will flicker until the point of it not working at all. Google "thunderbolt display 27" cable failing" for more info.

My first one failed. Replaced it, and now the replacement is failing.

    King of Glare

    • Written by from New York

I was assigned a thunderbolt display at work. I was so excited. But the minute I started using it, I realized a huge problem with it, kind of a deal breaker: it reflects almost everything. I am a programmer, and I like to program with a dark background in my editor. Now with this horrible reflection, I cannot see my staff clearly. All I can see is the shadow of whatever behind me. It is a good tool to tell whether your boss is coming behind you, but not a good display monitor, at least for programming.

I love it except for one pain in the neck design flaw

    • Written by from Boston

First off, this is a beautiful monitor with a gorgeous display. I'm an artist who works digitally to make fine art prints, and I use a Mac Air to connect to a larger display both in my studio and in my home. I splurged on this 27-inch Thunderbolt display for my studio, and for home I got a 23 inch Dell monitor. There is no question the Apple has a superior display. It's also a great looking design. But there is one design flaw with this monitor, and that is that the height can not be adjusted up or down. You can tilt it, but you can't change the height. For someone like me who wears progressive lenses (as MANY people do, so please take note Apple designers!) and has to look through the lower part of my lenses, it forces me to tilt my head back into an unnatural position to read the screen. I am not short, and even with my chair cranked as high as it goes, and a pillow under me, the screen is still just a few inches too high to sit naturally and see through the lower part of my lenses. For many things, I use Control+ to make everything bigger, but when working in Photoshop which I primarily do, the toolbar can not be made larger. It's a struggle and (literally) a pain in the neck. The Dell monitor I bought has a sliding up/down feature, and it is a god-send for this single reason. Other than the lack of up/down positioning, which would be a huge consideration for me in the future, I love the Apple monitor.

    Beautiful Display... when it works.

    • Written by from Camarillo

There were so many negative reviews that I figured they were written mostly by competitors. I bought two of these for my Mac Pro and was really happy when I got home. They were beautiful... until one of them developed a thin green vertical line through the screen. I spent an hour on the phone and ended up taking it back to the store 5 hours after I bought it. They happily replaced it and I haven't had a problem since. While I absolutely love these displays, but I trust them as far as I can throw them. I'm getting the apple care plan so I don't have to worry. I love the screens and I was really happy with how the store immediately made it right by replacing it, I'm just a little nervous one went bad so soon. I would recommend them to anyone, but I would also recommend the apple care plan because I just don't know how long they will last.

Does Not Work on Macbook Air

    • Written by from Marietta

I seriously think there is a design flaw in this monitor. The monitor charges my Macbook Air, the USB ports in the back charge my iPhone. Unfortunately, the monitor itself only displays a black screen. The thunderbolt cable gets very warm when I plug it into my MB Air but nothing happens on the monitor. I have already spent a significant amount of time online researching this issue and tried to identify a fix. I strongly encourage you to do the same before you buy this product. I did everything that Apple recommended like upgrade firmware, iOS, etc. to no avail. Now the daunting task of trying to work with Apple to resolve. This purchase has cost me more time than I have bandwidth.

    REFLECTIONS!?!?!?! Is this a joke?

    • Written by from LOS ANGELES

Most beautiful design, Solid, BEST connections with my macbookPRO. But I can ONLY ONLY ONLY work with it inside a dark cave or in the evenings. Working on this monitor is like working on top of a new Audi.

What´s the point of making such a beautiful piece of monitor if we cannot work on it during day time?

I spent 60$ on a MATTE antiglare filter. Final result: TERRIBLE blurry image and waist of 2 hours.

I need to return this product, I´m afraid. I really hope you guys are thinking on matte screens, at list for professionals that also work during day time.
