    No Problems

Well both these reviews are right in their own ways. The charger is great for what it is designed to do. However you have to provide it a little more consideration than some other cords. I have broken 2 by my own fault as one I twisted too tight around the built in holder and the other my 8 year old autistic son broke after 6 months of hard use. Look apple can't be blamed for moves like that. In fact the genius bar would have replaced the first one under warranty but I don't play that way. So for my money the product is fine, and I'll put my 15 bucks a month away and replace the charger if I need too, I waste more money than that on coffee.

    Very Great and Durable Product

    • Written by from Leesburg

I am not sure Daniela is talking about. I've been using the same power adapter for the 4 years I have had my laptop without incident. Sure, $79.00 is a bit steap for a replacement, but t will not break from normal use (I am still using the one that came in the box with my laptop). As long as you are not a child, dog, or Daniela and know how to properly handle things there should be no problems. Great Product!

    really close to perfection!

    • Written by from GRAND-MERE

awesome quality as usual, it looks way better than the angled one from last year too!
The only problem I can see (which gets a little bit annoying) is the fact that the connector is kinda long so it doesn't need much force to disconnect it when pressing up or down on the cable (which happens quite often in certain position if you have the computer on your lap). the angled one from last year never did that! but it's a really minor problem and I still rate 5* cause it's awesome and the quality is there!

I bought my MacBook Air January 2013.I have never had a problem at all with the 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter that came with the laptop...I was shocked to see how many complaints there were regarding this product. I'm planning on buying another one just as a back up!

    Quality Charger

    • Written by from Chicago

Honestly, I don't take the best care of my electronics and I got the macbook air 11 inch (June 2012), which is when the mag safe 2 had just come out. It is now December 2013 and I haven't had to replace it and there has been no trouble. The magnet is not as strong as previous models, but if you (for whatever reason), don't use the extension cord given to you and are moving your computer all over the place then you're not gonna have a lot of fun. Otherwise I have 0 complaints.

    Works great

    • Written by from Winchester

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but I think this is the best charger on the market.

The magnet is very strong and I never have problems with it disconnecting easily. It has saved me a few times when the cord gets accidentally pulled and it disconnected instead of pulling my computer off the table onto the floor. The magnet makes it also super easy to plug in and its reversible so I don't even need to look when I plug it in.

Charges my computer fast and its got some nice features like the tabs for wrapping the cord, the removable wall plug adapter and a charging indicator light. It's also fairly small and compact.

I have had it for about a year and a half and there is minimal wear, and it works great. The cord wrapping design works OK in my opinion, and I can see how the cord could be damaged if its wrapped too tightly.

Having used PCs for most of my life I really think Mac users don't know how good they have it when it comes to the little things like the power adapter. Yes it costs a premium but its well worth it in my opinion.

17 months - it still works fine and looks great.

I, too, do not understand how there can be so many negative reviews for this product. I have my original MagSafe 2 Charger for my Mid-2012 Macbook Air 13". I take care of my product, and typically travel with the adapter to class/lecture 3-4 times a month. Otherwise, it stays connected at my desktop. It cleans easily and shows no notable signs of damage/deterioration. The exception is when I rolled over it on carpet with my Aeron chair. The cord is a bit flat in that section, but it has yet to show any signs of reduced functionality.

As for the price... meh. Apple is a bit steep on this one, but that comes with the territory it seems. Still 5 stars because I've never owned a Mac and the magnetic connector works flawlessly.

    MacBook Air charger works great

    • Written by from WATSONVILLE

I can't believe all the bad reviews just because it disconnects easily. Newsflash! That's a safety feature to protect your computer! I use my Air sitting in my living room in my easy chair with the power on the floor to my right of my chair. I have to run the cord in front of my knees, behind my Air and it reaches fine. Sometimes it disconnects if I kick the cord, or lift my Air up for a close look at the screen (old eyes) but so what? Plug it back in. I'd rather that, than my Air falling on the floor.

And the charger still works like new after almost 3 years, as does the Air. This is my second MacBook Air (the first was stolen) after 2 Dell laptops, and there's no comparison. Everything about it is heads and shoulders above the Dell, including the charging device. I've kicked the cord more than once causing the Dell to land on the floor.

I think long time Mac users are so spoiled, that the slightest little inconvenience upsets them. Maybe they need to get a life.

I just bought another charger for my Air to pack for traveling.

I don't see how this product got so bad review, I guess only the people who had problems come here to vent, and the other 99% of us are happily using it fine without any problem.
Have been using it for over a year on both of my MacBook Air, they both working fine still.

Does what it's designed to do.

    • Written by from Seal Beach

I have no issues with the power cord falling out if it's being forced at an angle. I'd prefer the plug do this rather than damage the components of the laptop. If it keeps falling out I simply change my position or the laptops. I've have mine for over a year with no signs of degradation regarding the cord or plug. Maybe I got the good one. I think some of the folks are being a bit too harsh on this product.

Personally, I have to say that this is one of the greatest things Apple has come up with.
You have no idea how many times the magsafe saved my laptop from falling down or pulled off when I tripped over the wire.
    Its awesome, really...

    This deserves better reviews

    • Written by from Glendale

This is a nice charger and it works just fine. I appreciate the fact that I can be a clutze and trip over the cable without it pulling my laptop off my bed or desk. It also comes in handy when you have dogs or children... The reviews on this product I don't feel are accurate I have a feeling the people that do have bad experiences which are few and far in between just feel the need to b**** because they hold Apple as a company to a higher standard than others. That or they are just technologically inept or incompetant, like your average American. Anyways LOVE the charger, LOVE Apple, LOATH B****ING

    Perfect

    • Written by from London

The charger is perfect for the macbook air, its charges really quick, yes it detaches easily but, would you rather it detaches than the wire break? I haven't had any issues with it at all, the bad reviews about it not lasting are false, you just need to look after it and not bend the wire too much (common sense), Im using the one that came with my macbook and after just over 9 months, its still works like new and i travel but unlike the other people i actually make sure I'm not bending the life outta the wire.

    Best charger hands down still

    • Written by from Whitby

I gotta say, Apple products are amazing and just got better with MagSafe 2. I've worked at a computer store, and you wouldn't believe how many "Windows" laptops that need power cord adapter replacements. With at least half of them breaking the port inside the laptop. Apple always leading with the magnetic magsafe and is durable as long as you don't abuse the products.
