    Disconnects all the time.

Apple, what's wrong with your common sense? Why replace a working solution with non-working and almost unusable? Can't make the charger stay connected. For the premium price I'm paying to you I expect premium quality. I expect a recall.

    Terrible

Continuously falls out. There is nothing worse than leaving the house in the morning to find out that my laptop has not been charging through the night. Terrible design.

    MagSafe 2

I own three MBA's and one of the features I have always liked is the MagSafe 1 connection on the power supply.

I do not like the MagSafe 2 adapter on my newest MBA ... as others have said it falls out. Ironically the best solution is to get the old power supply and get the 10 dollar adapter and it stays in the new MBA much better than the power supply that came with the computer with the new MagSafe 2 connection.

Apple took something that worked very very well and made something that creates the most frustration for an otherwise elegant product. I would image the MagSafe 2 team are rapidly figuring out how to fix this if they still have their jobs...

    Not functional

Bought the 2015 Macbook Air, after having the 2011 edition for years. With that purchase a new type of charger came as well. It's safe to say that I miss the 'L-style MagSafe' which would fit perfectly on the Macbook and would never come loose.

The new power adapter continuously detaches from the Macbook since it sticks out more than the earlier version. I don't really understand why the design team would change this. So far I can't say much about the quality because I've only been using it for a month.

Design-wise: not functional at all, very poor job unfortunately.

    Overpriced fragile POS

I have gotten used to purchasing two of these a year. They are unbelievably delicate chargers. I don't have any problems with any other type of cable for any device that I won, but for some reason I keep having to replace these overpriced MacBook chargers.

At this point, I've spent enough money on chargers to buy me a new MacBook! What Apple calls normal wear and tear on these chargers is far beyond what I'd classify as normal.

    Bummer

My charger worked for around 2 years perfectly well, and I LOVE my MacBook Air, but all of the sudden...I've got nothing! No charger. And $80 for a replacement is ridiculous! Especially when the product is made so poorly. I've been using a Mac since 1985...hope Apple doesn't start disappointing me after all the good years we've had together...Please, fix this or lower the price

    Broken Already!!!

After a year and a half of gentle use, my MagSafe 2 adapter has already stopped working! What has been happening to Apple lately? The reason we all pay more money for Apple stuff is because it works, and now Apple products aren't really working that well anymore, not good. I still love me my Apple devices but this is a serious let down.

Apple needs to eliminate the SHAMEFUL MagSafe 2

Whoever came up with this design should be fired immediately. The magnet is weak. It WILL NOT stay connected to the machine given the slightest agitation. This defeats the purpose of the MagSafe design: to remain firmly connected to the machine as the user requires, and self-disconnect only if a potentially damaging pull is applied to the cord. The MS2 connector WILL NOT remain connected. Furthermore, it is a 'T' connector which also defeats the purpose of a non-obtrusive power connector. This new connector is a bloody clumsy eyesore! Frankly, the MagSafe 2 is a frustrating piece of garbage. Apple should be ashamed of itself for allowing this substandard design. Apple should return to the superior 'L' connector design and incorporate a stronger magnet. SHAME!!

    Fall outs too easily

As many other reviews have mentioned, the new design of the MagSafe adapter makes the part that connects to the laptop fall out really easily. I often use my Macbook Air in my lap and the slightest movement of my legs when I shift around will disconnect the adapter. This is partly because the magnet is not strong enough, but also because the thinner connector now sticks out a lot horizontally, so it is easily disconnected by an upward or downward (but not outward) force. This never happened with my old Macbook Air and the old MagSafe adapter, and it's a huge annoyance for someone who often uses their laptop in their lap cross-legged like I do.

    Extremly bad

I've bought my MBA in the morning charge it once and in the evening time it stoped working. Just break. Apple should better look on the quality of their products.

Falls off easily, Breaks easily, Super expensive

This charger is the worst. Its magnet connecting to the laptop is too weak, so it falls off really easily and the laptop always runs out of batteries before I notice it's disconnected. Then after using for a year, the cord just broke off. Couldn't use it anymore. I wanted to buy a new charger from Apple as a replacement but it's so expensive... I mean, $80 for a charger that doesn't charge well and breaks in a year? I might get a knockoff one instead.

    As usual, terrible charger

Once again, the charger for my laptop has come apart. This has happened with EVERY.SINGLE.MAC.I.HAVE.EVER.HAD. Why won't you just make thicker chargers? I have to keep repurchasing chargers for computers because a design flaw causes them to come apart.

    Awful.

My ancient white MacBook (2008) has traveled all over, been dragged around my house, airports, offices, hotels, etc. for years and I never had any problem with the MagSafe. I've has my MacBook Air for less than six months, have been babying it like a newborn, and it just stopped charging for no reason. After reading the reviews, I see I'm not the only one! They aren't exactly cheap to replace, either! Ugh.

Please address the MagSafe power adapter issue

Based on the multitude of negative reviews of a faulty product, I can only assume that Apple ignores customer complaints, doesn’t read them, or simply doesn’t care to address the issue. When I think of Apple, I think of superior quality. This cannot be said of your MagSafe power adapter.

    Terrible product

Had my Macbook Air since december 2012 and I am buying a third charger! The cable breaks so easily and I am tired of spending 80 euros on new one almost every year! On my Lenovo laptop this never ever happened, charger lasted for years and years. Shame on you Apple.

Not durable. Falls apart from normal use.

The rubber coating is cracked and peeling, exposing the raw wire. Very dangerous.

    Poor quality and Poor design

For a company that constantly touts its commitments to quality this is a glaring exception to the rule. After a year of use it started to show signs of wear around the connection to the power supply and the plug into the laptop. It's lasted another year with out major issue but looked terrible. The following 6 months the charging process was plagued by positioning the cable just so to make it charge and finally today it gave out. It could be argued that the laptop itself lasted so long, far longer and in better condition than many (but not all) other brands usually do (in reference to its all metal design and SSD, not blind fandom), I shouldn't be surprised that a plastic charger gave out. It could also be further argued that the company so proud of its strong industrial design should have foreseen this problem. They could have easily changed the design of the charger for newer models of their laptops seeing as this has been a know issue for MANY years and appeased previous owners by not charging $80!!!! for a new charger.

    POOR QUALITY!

I guess my charger lasted longer than most of the reviews I read, nonetheless it is very poorly made and no longer works. I wish Apple would step it up with the quality of ALL chargers as I also have to buy the iPhone cords in bulk. It's like they are made to be disposable.

    Like Driving a Cadillac

Do not think that was a compliment.....Have had my Air for maybe 9mos., and not impressed with all of the "believers". If you were to build a computer with all of the good of a dell, and a mac and windows and the mac os system you may have something....but quite frankly......they both, individually have serious issues.

There are some simple fixes on this mac that my cat could have figured out were non-starters. And now this bogus adapter.....very flimsy materials and design. Now need a new one
