Not like they used to be

    • Written by from Toronto

For years, Apple headphones were made with a very rubbery material that was more flexible than most. However, the last pair I picked up feels extremely cheap. The plastic cable is extremely stiff, which makes it very difficult to coil them neatly before stuffing in your pocket. I don't want to spend 10 minutes untangling headphones each time I pull them from my pocket, so I'm very disappointed in the design change. I'm also very disappointed to find that Apple has made a design change without letting consumers know. Clearly, it's not an improvement or they would have trumpeted it.

I won't be buying Apple headphones any more.

I just got them but they seem great!

Comfortable fit, great bass for the little guys, priced well, crystal clear, and light. Light yet durable is ideal, time will tell.

    Great Headphones

    • Written by from Goleta

I am not an audiophile but I can very well distinguish good headphones from bad ones and these are the good type. There are few things that matter when I look at headphones.
    1) Sound Quality - 5 stars - this is the most important criteria for me - and I had many different brands (entry level and more mid level) headphones and so far these are my favorite. If I would need to buy new headphones I will not hesitate and go straight for another pair of these.
    2) Long term use comfort - 5 stars - at work I wear the headphones without a need to ever take them off - after wearing them for 2 - 3 min they feel like a part of me.
    3) Long lasting - 5 stars - I've used mine for just over two years now - traveled 3 continents with it and wore them almost every day - and they're still like new!

Comes with my iPhone 6s a very decent pair of earphone

    • Written by from Toronto

I think it is better than the ones from Beats. It fits perfectly in my ear, and the sound quality is terrific. But according to my past experience, the sound quality quickly wears off as you continue to use.

    So bad

    • Written by from singapore

I just cannot believe Apple designed these and claims them to be more comfortable than the standard earphones. These earphones came with my very expensive 6S and to my horror they do not fit in my ears at all! They keep falling out! And when they do fit, it hurts so much to have them on for more than a few minutes! So bad...I am having trouble digesting the quality of this product. And people, they do NOT come free with the phone. You have paid for it. It is just that Apple , again, chose to rip us off by providing ill-designed, sub-standard earphones with the phone. Com on now, these are for human ears...a little bit of cushioning surely wouldn't hurt? Provide ear buds and have a re-look at how these fit Apple...

    Not made for small ears!

    • Written by from Beeville

I love the design of them, don't get me wrong, but they don't stay in my ears and really hurt. :(
Great quality, great if you don't have small ears.

Even if they fit, they wear out very fast

    • Written by from Hove

Over the years I have been through nearly a dozen pairs of the earbuds from normal use. The lifespan appears to be around 6 months, tops, and the local store staff do not seem at all surprised. On several occasions they have simply looked at the earbuds, seen they have not been abused, and simply handed over a replacement. My latest set came with an iPhone 6+ less than 6 months ago and now any movement of the cable causes the right earbud to crackle or cut-out completely for a split second. The build quality of the earbuds is appalling, mainly due to the cable being so flimsy. Why, oh, why, don't Apple produce a decent, ROBUST, version. They charge a premium for quality, but £25 for new earbuds every few months is appalling when the quality is so poor. I would rather pay £50 for a set that lasts for several years. Style and fit (for me) 5 out of 5, value for money ZERO.

    I miss the old ones

    • Written by from Seattle

I have small ears and these earbuds hurt to wear for more than 30 seconds. They also fall out very easily. When I first bought a device that came with these, I just ordered a pair of the previous style which were perfect for my ears. Now Apple doesn't carry that style anymore. These don't work, and the kind with rubber that goes in the ear canal doesn't work for my tiny ears either. I wish Apple would bring back the old style. Now I have to buy cheap knockoffs of that style that break easily, because it is the only shape of earbud I can wear.

    Too large for small ears.

    • Written by from Austin

Let me start by saying I love the quality of these earbuds and have yet to find another brand that I like better. EXCEPT....apparently, I have small ears. These things are huge. They are great for my husband who has caverns for ear canals. My best friend, apparently, doesn't have tiny ear holes either. I can place them at the outside of my ear but they fall out constantly. If I shove them in, it starts to hurt my ears after a few minutes. Apple, would you PLEASE make EarPods for small ears?? My kids can't use them either. Same issue. I had heard that Apple did indeed make small ear earbuds but when I went to the Apple store I was told this wasn't accurate information. If you don't have small ears, you will love these earbuds. I can even talk on the phone while I blow dry my hair because they drown out constant noise like that. They are, however, very distracting if someone is in the same room with you and speaking. They pick up the voice of the other person as if they were on your lap.

This is good one and competitive with all brands of phone. Its sound is amazing as other brand of earphones but only have minor change with other headphones. There is no differece with compare to other headphones as I listen the sound. Good one. Not bad

I had these headphones for a month and they broke. The right earbud completely fell apart. Apple is extremely unhelpful in giving me a new pair or my money back.

Mine have been through the washer and dryer on more than one occassion and still work perfectly! They are a little uncomfortable if you wear them for more than an hour but other than that the highs, lows, bass, and treble, are fantastic!

The sound is great... if I hold them in. These barely stay in my ears and sound like cheap headphones unless I press and hold them in my ears. Terrible design.

    For all to hear

    • Written by from The Woodlands

Maybe it's just me but, these earbuds are possibly the worst earbuds that I have ever owned. Good thing they came free with my Apple product otherwise, I would have wanted a refund. They hurt my ears, they don't stay in my ears and, worst of all, EVERYBODY around you can hear what you are listening to! You may as well just unplug your device and play your song aloud! Also, the sound quality is horrid. Everything is way too high pitched, and the bass and drums drown out the melody.

    Incompatible with my iPhone 6

    • Written by from Loveland

Whenever I use these earbuds on a phone call, they cause my phone to go all screwy. It cycles from the call screen to the contacts screen then mutes itself - over and over and over during the phone call. I couldn't figure out why my calls kept muting themselves while I was trying to carry on a conversation. When I unplug the earbuds, everything resolves. My iphone has had phone issues since day one (been to the genius bar three times in 6 months), and this is the latest. At least this one I was able to figure out before another trip to the bar.

I think they're great! Nice and loud, they never break easily and they last for a very long time. That's IF you keep them in good shape as in don't always wrap it up or pull on them.

    Worst earphones I've ever used

    • Written by from Mecosta

I have owned countless pairs of earphones; Skull Candy, Panasonic, you name it. I have never had a problem with getting any of these to fit in my ears. Most earphones come with rubber pieces that insert into your ears, and replacement pieces if the regular pieces are too big. I have never once used the replacements. My point is that it is not hard for me to find earphones that properly fit my ears. And yet these will absolutely not stay in place. I move my head slightly, they fall out. I try to walk with them in, they fall out. The fact that something so low in quality would cost $30 is absolutely ridiculous. I have purchased far better earphones for around $10. I am very glad that I got these for free and did not buy them. Don't waste your money. It truly confuses me that a million dollar company can't make a pair of decent earphones.
