    Definitely Worth Upgrading

I just got the EarPods today and was listening to Pandora with them to get a variety of sounds. I immediately noticed stronger bass and boom and a more comfortable, immersive experience as compared with the previous model. The old earbuds would hurt my ears after a bit wearing them. These EarPods are smooth and angled to go inside the ear, and with the music playback, I can still hear ambient noise but only if it is in the same room or at louder volume. I can wear them for hours without experiencing irritation or pain. I don't like total noise cancellation, so these 'pods work excellently for me.

I also like the plastic travel case. Easy to just wind the headphones around and pack them away, which prevents them getting caught on things when trying to pull them from a bag.

The controls and cord feel sturdier and more tactilely stimulating when clicking the buttons.

For the price, the EarPods deliver crisper sound than any earbud style headphones I've ever tried. A more expensive USB headset delivers better sound, but the EarPods are worth the purchase because they are portable, can be worn for a long time without discomfort, and music is full enough that it takes focus for the most part unless you're in loud environments.

Great ear pods, better than the more expensive ones from Apple and very other one out there, even the more expensive ones. Bass is very good also. The only thing is that the plastic is slippery, takes some time to adjust. I use a foam around it which you can be found at Radio Shack.

    Impressed, even with high expectations

Sound quality is outstanding, considering these are $35 in Canada.
I still find the cord material and short length to be a bit annoying.

I will be interested to see how well these stand up to wear and tear.

Outstanding!! Apple can now dump the old version.

Just bought these <24 hours ago. But, so far these far exceed the old version and many other brands for the price range and slightly above. Apple hit a double on this product. I believe IF MORE R&D is applied, the next version will be even better. Fit is perfect for my ear (buds stay in while iPod classic dangles a few inches above the floor). Sound is good, but more extended bottom end would be nice (can't find the Freq. spec., but not uncommon with apple products). Bottom end is still better than standard issue buds. These earPods can put out the volume also, so, be careful with your hearing. Love the remote control, mic. Works with my iPhone 4S just fine. Would / will highly recommend this product to ALL that I talk to. Can't wait for these to get broke in (believe they are just like speakers, requiring a certain break-in period). AND, they are the SAME price as the original....this is a no brainer!!!....Buy these!!!!

    A steal

As someone insane enough to have spent more on his earphones than his iPhone, I have to say that these are amazingly good for the price. They not only deliver good sound, with bass to spare, but have a cord that refrains from being excessively long, well-designed controls that you can maneuver purely by touch and feel, and a microphone that doesn’t produce spurious noise by rubbing against clothing.

    Shure, take note.

    Awesome with minor drawbacks

I am using Apple New earpods....

    They are great.......
Main great thing is its BASS......Awesome BASS....I LOVE IT

only DRAWBACK is.....may find difficult to fit into you ear in starting...bt in due ourse you will get them fit perfectly....

SUGGESTION TO APPLE : If the End speaker part of earpods are covered with Ear Buds.....they would have been 10/5 rating........

Coz they can fit well and long duration hearing doesnot give pain........

    just go for it.....dont hesitate

great - seams to have a problem to skip songs

I would give this a 5 stars for quality of sound and design; altought it seams to have trouble to skip songs on my new iphone 5 - it skips but most of the time just put on pause - maybe I'm just not used to it but on my mbp there is no problems skipping the songs at all.

other than that, great headphones, good sound and bass, and it holds well in the ears.

Sound almost is unparalleled! Feel is less impressive.

As an avid music listener, I found the sound quality to be INCREDIBLE! However, the comfort is significantly less impressive. My ears start to hurt after a short while, which is disappointing because I love the quality they offer.
Overall, I love them and use them often!

What an improvement in fit and sound!

This is a greatly improved version of Mac headphones from their earlier Apple iPhone/iPod headphones.
    In short:
Pros--they actually stay in your ear, sound is better quality
Cons--None found so far, except for maybe the expense ($29)

But I always had trouble keeping the old headphones in my ears. This is no longer a problem with these.

    Not good in wind.

When it is windy you can hear it whistling over the hole on the top of them. Apart from that there great!

What I expected but with 1 down side

The only thing that I dislike about these is that they're just a tad too big and so they hurt my ears. I have to take them out every once in a while to give my ears a rest. :(

    Really impressed!

These earpods are really an upgrade from the old Mac headsets. The fit is really comfortable, as with the old model my ears would hurt due to the tightness and position. These comfortably fit in my ear with no need to apply pressure and they stay on! As or the quality, also very impressed, as it is really clear. Have played a variety of music and the quality is still good. The price is really good and the quality is well over. The best deal for your money!

Great sound and design for everyday normal use.

Normaly I use the AKG-240 headphones, but thought I would give these an evaluation.

These have to be one of the best sounding earbud style units I have ever had in my
ears. Comfort is marginally okay. Not the best, but better than than the last design.
The only issue I have is the lack of noise insulation from room noise. These are great if your in a quiet room. However if you are in a mall, airport, or anyplace that has a lot of ambient noise, it's hard to hear. When this happens, instinct is to turn up the music. A lot of the time, this is the cause of hearing loss in younger adults. So if they could design a gel mold like the Bose system has, I think it would greatly reduce ambient noise, and raise the value of these earpods.

Just make sure the earpod that has the mic is in your right ear, and the other in your left. And be careful when you take them out.just dont pull them out by the cord.

    Alternate way of wearing these

Put the opposites in ears(L in R, R in L) with the stem up and the cable going up and over-behind ear. Volume control ends up on left side dangling behind left earlobe. Stays in my ears better this way than how they were intended.

Way better than 1 gen yet mediocre sound quality

    1. Fit well into ears, do not fall off (at least from my ears :) ) as was the case with 1st gen ear plugs :)
    2. Bass is improved compared to 1st gen
    3. Sound is much better than 1st gen yet being used to hifi sound, hear the distortion in the sound that is distracting. Yet for mobile application the quality is pretty well acceptable.

    Fantastic sound!!

These headphones have better sound than Skullcandy brand headphones! I love the romote also, I don't have to stop what I am doing to get my phone out of my pocket to change the song or volume. They might be a little more comfortable if they were not hard plastic, but since they sound so good I think I can get use to it.

    Sound Great, Feel Great

These headphones have impressive bass levels. I compared these to my 100$ Bose in ear headphones and I honestly couldn't tell the difference! They fit great in my ears but sadly that is not the story for some of my friends who tried them on. When I wear them at school, I sometimes forget that I am even wearing headphones! These headphones fall behind higher end headphones when it comes to vocal clarity and mid levels.
