If I could give these earphones a lower rating I would. I've been through three pairs, all of which have become defective where the wire meets the connector. Perhaps this is a clever marketing ploy on Apple's part, make terrible quality earphones so that the gullible customer consumes more.

    Worse earbuds EVER

I can't wear these things unless I'm still. If I workout or do anything where I'm active they won't stay in!

    Terrible design!

    Poor Design

    • Written by from Spruce Grove

Well Mr. Ives....the perfect design for the perfect ear. Not quite Jony. Unfortunately not everyone's ear is the same, so unless you have that perfect ear expect these ear buds to fall out quite easily, fit uncomfortably and lose sound quality depending on how they fit. If you manage to stuff them in your imperfect ear the sound is often muffled and it becomes a chore to move them around to sit perfectly....there's that word again Mr. Ives.

    Horrible reliablity, Waste of money!

    • Written by from Burnaby

These seem great at first but just wait they'll fail you fairly quickly. Be super careful with the remote part.....it'll start to act up on you..once that happens its only a matter of days until the problem really sets in. For how much the earpods cost compared to the quality..yeah no thanks I'll save my money and purchase far more reliable and far better made earphones (earpods) then these. Seriously Apple you really have a thing for using the worst material to make these weak little cords and then selling them way overpriced. We aren't all made of money, some of us are broke as H E double hockey sticks.

    Horrible Quality, Poor reliability

    • Written by from Redmond

These headphones seem nice when you first buy them, but they are a complete waste of money. They barely last a month before one side stops working. I foolishly bought a second pair only to have the right side die again. They are horribly uncomfortable and don't last. WASTE OF MONEY!

If I could I wouldn't even give it one star!!!

    • Written by from Denver

These earphones are really really really bad!! Apple HAS to do something to fix their quality! It's actually quite impressive a company known for its high quality to deliver such poor quality product like these earphones! I have had three so far and NONE of them lasted more than a year. First it starts with the remote, it starts to act funny, making the volume to go up and down without even pressing it and then eventually they will stop working.
You would think for such expensive price they would last for quite a long time, but no, they don't AT ALL!! It's so disappointing, frustrating and annoying!
Well, I guess I'm not the only one complaining about it, there are so many bad reviews here and still Apple is doing nothing. Great job, guy!

    Makes Clicking Noise

    • Written by from Windom

I purchased the EarPods with great confidence and have been sorely disappointed. The left EarPod makes a clicking noise as if it's trying to connect something internally (in the wires maybe?). It only clicks when I walk, but considering I use the headphones on my walk to the train, while I'm working out, etc., it is VERY annoying. The clicking is loud enough to overpower the entire music/podcast I have playing. I am an Apple person, but my confidence has been lost in this product.

new pair makes Siri constantly turn on

    • Written by from Nashville

My previous pair of apple ear phone eventually broke, but it was my fault for running in the rain. My new pair makes Siri turn on every 5 seconds. I can't stand it. I even turned off Siri and then voice control comes on. My old ones don't do this but only one ear bud is still functional. So frustrating.

2nd one that broke off in my computer!!!

    • Written by from amherst

These are really junky yet expensive. This is the second one that has BROKEN OFF in my computer necessitating the tricky super-glue-on-the-end-of-a-shorn-qtip maneuver.

And so expensive!!! For such crumby quality!

I think I will not get a third pair, just not worth it.

    So bad

    • Written by from singapore

I just cannot believe Apple designed these and claims them to be more comfortable than the standard earphones. These earphones came with my very expensive 6S and to my horror they do not fit in my ears at all! They keep falling out! And when they do fit, it hurts so much to have them on for more than a few minutes! So bad...I am having trouble digesting the quality of this product. And people, they do NOT come free with the phone. You have paid for it. It is just that Apple , again, chose to rip us off by providing ill-designed, sub-standard earphones with the phone. Com on now, these are for human ears...a little bit of cushioning surely wouldn't hurt? Provide ear buds and have a re-look at how these fit Apple...

Even if they fit, they wear out very fast

    • Written by from Hove

Over the years I have been through nearly a dozen pairs of the earbuds from normal use. The lifespan appears to be around 6 months, tops, and the local store staff do not seem at all surprised. On several occasions they have simply looked at the earbuds, seen they have not been abused, and simply handed over a replacement. My latest set came with an iPhone 6+ less than 6 months ago and now any movement of the cable causes the right earbud to crackle or cut-out completely for a split second. The build quality of the earbuds is appalling, mainly due to the cable being so flimsy. Why, oh, why, don't Apple produce a decent, ROBUST, version. They charge a premium for quality, but £25 for new earbuds every few months is appalling when the quality is so poor. I would rather pay £50 for a set that lasts for several years. Style and fit (for me) 5 out of 5, value for money ZERO.

    I miss the old ones

    • Written by from Seattle

I have small ears and these earbuds hurt to wear for more than 30 seconds. They also fall out very easily. When I first bought a device that came with these, I just ordered a pair of the previous style which were perfect for my ears. Now Apple doesn't carry that style anymore. These don't work, and the kind with rubber that goes in the ear canal doesn't work for my tiny ears either. I wish Apple would bring back the old style. Now I have to buy cheap knockoffs of that style that break easily, because it is the only shape of earbud I can wear.

I had these headphones for a month and they broke. The right earbud completely fell apart. Apple is extremely unhelpful in giving me a new pair or my money back.

    For all to hear

    • Written by from The Woodlands

Maybe it's just me but, these earbuds are possibly the worst earbuds that I have ever owned. Good thing they came free with my Apple product otherwise, I would have wanted a refund. They hurt my ears, they don't stay in my ears and, worst of all, EVERYBODY around you can hear what you are listening to! You may as well just unplug your device and play your song aloud! Also, the sound quality is horrid. Everything is way too high pitched, and the bass and drums drown out the melody.

    Incompatible with my iPhone 6

    • Written by from Loveland

Whenever I use these earbuds on a phone call, they cause my phone to go all screwy. It cycles from the call screen to the contacts screen then mutes itself - over and over and over during the phone call. I couldn't figure out why my calls kept muting themselves while I was trying to carry on a conversation. When I unplug the earbuds, everything resolves. My iphone has had phone issues since day one (been to the genius bar three times in 6 months), and this is the latest. At least this one I was able to figure out before another trip to the bar.

    Worst earphones I've ever used

    • Written by from Mecosta

I have owned countless pairs of earphones; Skull Candy, Panasonic, you name it. I have never had a problem with getting any of these to fit in my ears. Most earphones come with rubber pieces that insert into your ears, and replacement pieces if the regular pieces are too big. I have never once used the replacements. My point is that it is not hard for me to find earphones that properly fit my ears. And yet these will absolutely not stay in place. I move my head slightly, they fall out. I try to walk with them in, they fall out. The fact that something so low in quality would cost $30 is absolutely ridiculous. I have purchased far better earphones for around $10. I am very glad that I got these for free and did not buy them. Don't waste your money. It truly confuses me that a million dollar company can't make a pair of decent earphones.

Got these with my phone and they were really nice until both buds broke, not abused and in perfect condition. So I bought another pair and the right earbud cut out, again in the most perfect condition ever, no cut wires or anything. Not Worth It!!!

Far to large and painful to wear - ZERO STARS

    • Written by from Greater london

Received these 'universal fits all' earphones with my IPhone 6 but found them to be way too large to wear. They were very painful to put in and irritated my poor ears and then kept on falling out, which at times was a bit of a relief for me.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this product & the after sales service and therefore I can not recommend this item. If you have very small ear holes then please avoid this product.
