Great sound and design for everyday normal use.

    • Written by from Lexington

Normaly I use the AKG-240 headphones, but thought I would give these an evaluation.

These have to be one of the best sounding earbud style units I have ever had in my
ears. Comfort is marginally okay. Not the best, but better than than the last design.
The only issue I have is the lack of noise insulation from room noise. These are great if your in a quiet room. However if you are in a mall, airport, or anyplace that has a lot of ambient noise, it's hard to hear. When this happens, instinct is to turn up the music. A lot of the time, this is the cause of hearing loss in younger adults. So if they could design a gel mold like the Bose system has, I think it would greatly reduce ambient noise, and raise the value of these earpods.

Just make sure the earpod that has the mic is in your right ear, and the other in your left. And be careful when you take them out.just dont pull them out by the cord.

    Alternate way of wearing these

    • Written by from Jacksonville

Put the opposites in ears(L in R, R in L) with the stem up and the cable going up and over-behind ear. Volume control ends up on left side dangling behind left earlobe. Stays in my ears better this way than how they were intended.

Way better than 1 gen yet mediocre sound quality

    • Written by from Riga

    1. Fit well into ears, do not fall off (at least from my ears :) ) as was the case with 1st gen ear plugs :)
    2. Bass is improved compared to 1st gen
    3. Sound is much better than 1st gen yet being used to hifi sound, hear the distortion in the sound that is distracting. Yet for mobile application the quality is pretty well acceptable.

    Fantastic sound!!

    • Written by from Scottsdale

These headphones have better sound than Skullcandy brand headphones! I love the romote also, I don't have to stop what I am doing to get my phone out of my pocket to change the song or volume. They might be a little more comfortable if they were not hard plastic, but since they sound so good I think I can get use to it.

    Sound Great, Feel Great

    • Written by from Williamsville

These headphones have impressive bass levels. I compared these to my 100$ Bose in ear headphones and I honestly couldn't tell the difference! They fit great in my ears but sadly that is not the story for some of my friends who tried them on. When I wear them at school, I sometimes forget that I am even wearing headphones! These headphones fall behind higher end headphones when it comes to vocal clarity and mid levels.

I very much like the new in-ear contour buds. Bass is better and sound is clear. Additionally, they work much better under a helmet.

Very Improved But Too Expensive To Purchase On Their Own

    • Written by from North Las Vegas

These 'EarPods' are very nice improvement over the past earphones that came with the iPhones and iPods. They were a pleasant surprise when I bought the iPhone 5. The bass is really good, at least there is bass this time compared with the last version. But they are too expensive if you want to buy the earphones themselves. I know a good brand from Sony that costs $9.99 that sound just as good and another that is about $25 from Skull Candy that sound better and block all outside noise. These 'EarPods' do not block all sound. They do not completely plug my ears like the Skull brand. Overall a good pair of earphones that are worthwhile to use. Quality was put into these earphones but durability is an unknown for me.

    Powerful Sound

    • Written by from JOLIET

Plain and simple, these headphones are great, in sound quality. However, I still feel as if they are going to fall out of my ear even after Apple's ear research and that insecurity is hard to overlook. Also, I know earbuds in general perform rather low for running. Either case, I tried them out to put them through a complete test anyway. They did better than I anticipated, but still failed in the long run/higher speeds (9.2 mph or 6:01 mile/min). Then the test of time. Here they did well, I was watching "What Dreams May Come", and for those that haven't seen it, it's not a short movie, and they were comfortable for about 75% of the movie. Till I laid on my back. While on my back the 'not so fixed in the ear' feeling returned. Unfortunately, thanks to this I began to adjust and readjust the earbuds. Honestly I think it was more my finger tinkering more than the actual buds that caused my ears to become irritated, but the fact remained, they didn't feel secure. Aside from all of this, I think these are great buds for the price, and if you are a public transport commuter/traveler. The size+case and sitting up right comfort make it ideal for those times you want to forget where you are.

Best piece of bare plastic I ever put in my ears.

    • Written by from Racine

Pretty impressed actually. These earphones are a significant improvement over the older style, and more comfortable despite the lack of cushioning band (which I've had wear off anyway). Not perfect, it takes adjustment in order to sit with them for more than an hour. But like the title says, for a bare piece of plastic, pretty nice.

Sound quality is pretty good. I think people need to understand, there is a -vast- difference between standard earphones (including Earpods) and noise-cancelling earphones. Noise-cancelling earphones rely heavily on creating a sealed chamber inside your own ear to produce that rich sound you get. Standard earphones have only their own casings for acoustic chambers, so with that in mind, the Earpods are actually quite remarkable, providing clarity and equal emphasis on all bands. The only thing I can complain about is that there's a certain 'tinny' sound that carries over from the old style.

Overall, for being included with devices, they're enjoyable enough to actually use on a regular basis. Probably an industry first.

    Much better

    • Written by from Moerbeke-Waas

I have used the earpods for a week now and I have to say they are much better than the previous apple earphones. They fit perfectly, exellent sound quality. I surely recommend them to anyone who is thinking about buying earphones, for only 29euro they are perfect.

    pretty good :)

    • Written by from Palisade

So i really like these EarPods. Apple did a great job and the sound is amazing! It doesn't leak like in the original headphones. The acoustics are fantastic and i am really impressed with the bass sound on them. The only bad thing is that i just bought them less then a month ago and one of the ears has a crack in them :( so not very durable.

    great earphones - TERRIBLE CASE

    • Written by from toronto

don't get me wrong - i LOVE the headphones, for the price - the are great. but why provide a case if its completely irritating to put back in???

i travel a lot and always put away my earphones in a case - i was actually excited that these new earpods came with their own - but unfortunately it takes a good couple minutes of finagling to squeeze them back in.

not the best design. not trying to be picky - but hey, if you're gonna provide a nice little case - make it so i can put it back in easily and efficiently.

    Worth every penny

    • Written by from Oconto

Absolutely worth every penny. I really don't think you can do better for $30. The only complaint I have is that the pause/play button's feedback isn't always correct: you can easily push light enough that it will click but not register anything. It's bad enough that if I try, I can do it almost every time. So...click hard: problem mostly solved.
