    Best headphones for $29

Not perfect, but close. For $29 dollars there isn't anything with such a universal fit and well balanced sound. They also took the time to improve the buttons.

    Apple EarPods

Today I bought thr new Apple EarPods and I am totally happy. I putted them in my ears and Idont feel any hurt. Even after 3 hours of listening I dont feel as I have any headphones in my ears. And they are not falling out of the ear! The range of music frequency is from 20Hz to 2000Hz. Its the average of usuall street headphones. But sound from the new EarPods sounds more clearly and they are more comfortable, as I mentioned. I one of the greatest things is that when I am listening, walking on a street, I dont hear any backgrounds noises from my surrounding,... just listen the music. And they couldnt hear what Iam hearing :)

(BTW sorry for grammar, Iam from Slovakia)

As a worker of samsung earpiece development division

i worked for samsung earpiece development division for nearly a decade, devoting my life IN creation of better earpiece for our people. I've seen many prototypical designs with exceptional quality, and most (99%) of those earphones were rubber budded or rubber coated for noise canceling / louder bass / and FITTING perfectly.

i think the apple's earpieces problem is that it NEVER has given us a good earpiece that would sit tight on our ears that are not rubber coated.

so why wouldnt have apple made their new EarPod rubber coated IF THEY ARE CAPABLE OF DOING IT? i dont know.

maybe they had a covet deal with 3rd earphone companies not to monopoly the earpiece market, so apple only provide basic, inferior earphones to the consumers so the producers could make money.

but if apple really wants to compete in earpiece market as a company not for iPhone but earpiece it makes, then Steve Job's substitude shall consider the numerous reviews about its latest earpiece not fitting well in many ears and weak bass ( probably leak from gap between ear and the earphone

New earbuds are a winner, but Apple Marketing should get it together!

Was very surprised in the performance of these ear buds. Sound is very good for the price, even better than my $99 earbuds. I have small ear openings, so the fact that these buds stay in place is amazing. Have not tried any activities to test their staying power but am very pleased so far. Why they don't come in BLACK is a mystery - white iphone = white earbuds; black iPhone = black earbuds - come on Apple Marketing get it together, we've been here before.

    So much better!

These are a large step above the vastly outdated and inferior designs of old. They fit better, actually stay in, and the biggest improvement? They actually sound decent! I'd say they're well worth the $29. I've got other headphones and earbuds I'd rather wear, but since these came with my phone I had to give 'em a try. I approve!

    Good earbuds

I have used the Apple In-Ear Headphones in the past and I was really pleased with them. I picked these up to do an ear-to-ear comparison. It seems that these have better frequency response than the In-Ear Headphones. The bass is deeper than on those. The only complaint I have is that they *feel* like they are going to fall out of my ears, but when I go to check them, they are solidly in place. Nice buds for the price.

    Little big in size

Earbuds are little bigger in size of both ends of earbuds ,and doesnt fit realy proper and sometimes fall down may be coz they are not in ear and the dont have rubber buds ,but sounds really great its sound quality is as good as i have bose ie1 for mobile.

    Better than previous

Much better than previous model but still not perfect :)

    Great, but not for everyone

While these are the best headphones I have ever used in terms of clarity and great bass, the fit is something to be desired. Apple advertised these as fitting a variety of ear types, but they do not fit my ears. As soon as I put them in, they fall out. I had some of my friends put them in and they had no issues. It appears as though certain people, including myself, do not have ears like those that Apple tested on. I wish Apple would develop in-ear versions of these, since those seem to be the only type that will stay in my ears.

    Impressed.

I have owned many iPods, and iPhones before, but was never even able to listen to the old headphones as they were very uncomfortable, and sounded TERRIBLE. After watching a few early reviews of these before i got my iPhone 5, i figured they'd be o.k. I own many headphones that sound A LOT better, and are literally ranging from 100-200$. (none of them are beats) haha. I figured i wasnt up for much until opening these up and putting in my ears... Wow. these are comfortable i said. I then put on music and said.... BASS... IN APPLE EARBUDS!?!? They sounded nice! Moral of the story is that i have actually been using these when in school in lieu of my more expensive headphones. I definitely would say if you like plain ol' earbuds and don't have much money, buy these. But honestly? I don't think most people should go out and spend money on them unless they're free with your iPhone or iPod.

    Great EarPods!!!

These ear pods are so great. They are a lot better than those Apple ear pods in the past. Excellent!!!

    Huge Improvement

The new ear buds are a huge improvement over the old round ones (that always fell out). The sound is awesome and they do fit better. I would give 5 stars, but these still come loose and fall out under normal use (like walking and even loosen on their own). They do not fit as perfectly as in the ear buds with silicone covers

Sound & Fit - two different attributes

These sound great to me and while they fit better than the previous earbuds, the fit is still not great. I believe that's because of the shape of my ears. David Pogue mentions this in one of his reviews - your ears need to have a particular shape for certain earbuds/pods to fit comfortably. One size just doesn't fit 'all' - presumably just 'most' ... I think that's why the more comfortable earphones on the market are invariably the more expensive ones, because they incorporate a soft material that can mold itself to your particular ear shape more readily.

JUST bought these, very immersive sound and great bass

I really like these headphones. I have been playing with them for 20 minutes now, and they have HUGELY improved bass, and I can really tell what direction in game sounds are coming from. Great job, hope they last a while.

Great sound, not so great fit

Ok, so the sound quality is a HUGE improvement but still these don't seem to stay in my ears all too well. They do stay in better than the previous model but they fall out upon a quick head turn and they'll gradually get closer to falling after about 45 or so minutes of play time. Maybe my ears are just strange. It would have been a great idea for apple to include a set of different sized ergonomic silicone tips to place over the ear pods to further the snugness of fit, but all well, I'll still use them.

    For free/cheap head-phones

So I use a pair of Bose headphones most of the time (out of ear noise cancelling ones - can't remember the model...) The Bose are far superior but you would expect that.

I also have a £30 Koss in ear set and though the base is better on the Koss, over all sound quality feels equal.

You will struggle with back ground sound effecting your listening but I have to say, it was about time apple stepped up there headphones (been saying it for years) and this is a significant improvement putting them in the middle of the 'phones market and now they are something I use not just throw away. buying them for £30 ish is a very fair price for a well made headphone.
