    Fits perfectly, but...

I am disappointed that they do not work with my Shuffle 3G

DO NOT buy the earpods if you want to use it with your Shuffle 3G and expect the remote to work

However, the audio quality is great and no other $30 earbuds can beat it.

Apple if you add Shuffle 3G support I would give a 5 star rating

    Too big

Well made earbuds would give 5 stars if they were smaller or came in multiple sizes. They are too big to fit well into my ears comfortably.

Sound Great, but not in the gym.

First off, audio quality is a 5 (I am an audio engineer by education). Keep in mind that the low end has good thump, but there is no sustained low end like a bass (You can't really expect this from in/on ear headphones anyway.) I actually listened to a few old favorites with huge grin on my face as it was a very good listening experience.

No on to why I rated these headphones only a 3. I was excited to take these to the gym and put them to the real test. Instant fail. These are the first pair of headphones I have owned that actually fell out of my ear. The problem for me was the right ear. The reason the right ear only is (I believe) the volume dongle. The weight of this is just enough to pull the earpod out of my ear. The other problem is that since the audio comes out of the side of the earpod, when it gets even slightly dislodged, there is a big drop in volume. Every 20 seconds I was pushing the right ear back in and adjusting it to try to even it out.

Overall I am very sad, because I love the sound quality and overall comfort of the earpods, but I primarily wanted them for the gym and they just didn't work for me. I think a fix for this would be if they had a tackier materiel on the earpod or maybe a cover that can go overtop to fit more snug into ears.

If this problem doesn't happen to you, then you have yourself an amazing pair of $30 headphones.

    Not Apples best

The sound is great. But they're always falling out so it's not like it matter. My Sony headphones that are only $20 stay in, why can't these!

    Not good for small ears

I love the sound and volume control, however they still don't stay in my ears... I never used the original IPod earbuds because of the huge size.
These are ok if I am sitting still, but even turning my head causes them to slip out of my ears.

Left handed, so gave them to my husband

I really liked the quality of these head phones generally. They seem to have good sound. I find them comfortable and they even seem a bit more heavy duty than the ear buds (that is, I thought I'd have a less likely chance of destroying the pod wires than I normally do with new ear buds).
However, I am left handed and tend to talk on the phone listening in my left ear, and control my remote with my left hand. This is not a problem with ear buds, even though they are labeled "right" and "left," because the ears are identical. This sounds silly, but I didn't even think about this when I bought my ear pods because I've never had to think of it before. I spent the first day wondering why the sound wasn't very good .... well, I put the right pod in my left ear, so the mic. wasn't facing the correct direction. I tried talking on the phone with the mic/ remote on the right side (so that the speakers would be correct in my ears) but I cannot adjust. :( I swapped for my husband's old ear buds. My question: will Apple make a left-remote version for those of us left-inclined?? :D

    Not 100%

These earpods are stylish enough. If your sitting listening to music and such, they are great. But, once you start doing any exercise activity they pop out of the ear from sweat and movement. I always wondered why the deleted the foam pads from there older model.

Are they small or my ears big?

They sound and work great. Be better if they didn't fall out of my ears when I'm sitting and turn my head.

Ear ache isn't worth the hype

I have been using this headphone for the past two days now and there isn't much good as well as bad to report.

Comfort: Sure the redesign is nice and is slightly a better fit that the previous model but even after I get them settled into my ears for about 15 minutes my ears start feeling sore. I tried to set them in different positions to see which is best but its the same results where my ears get sore. Maybe if I have surgery to remove some my ears' cartilage then the headphones might fit and feel better.

Sound: Much better: They do have a better frequency response and better dynamics.

Remote: The finger press response is SO MUCH more better! The clicks feel solid and smooth compared to the previous model where I found myself having to click multiple times for the correct sequence.

Summary: Good sound with great user experience for the remote and worth the $30 for those reasons. However, its a gamble with comfort; hoperfully you will have the right size ear where they don't get sore.

They don't stay all the time on my ears which makes me not relaxed in them

    Maybe it's just me...

Maybe it's just me, but these things still do not stay in my ears. They stay in for about 30 seconds or so and then pop out as if they were skydiving and my ears are their airplane. While they're in, the sound is fantastic, but it's not very useful if they don't stay in. Perhaps I'm inserting them wrong, but if so, EarPods/EarBuds/Earphones should not require a user guide. The EarBuds did the same thing and these do have a higher quality sound so they are an improvement, but still don't work for me. I wish the outer layer were done in white PVC foam like Flents Quiet Time Soft Comfort Ear Plugs. They could use a foam that is less dense to prevent the total sound isolation, but still allow the EarPods to form a custom outer shape every time. That would be a winner.

Great sound, still falls out of my ear

The sound is excellent. The earpods fall out of my ear just as often as the old headphones did. They are more comfortable when they're in your ear though. If they find a way to make them stay in your ear they get 5 stars!

I'd like to like these earpods

I've always had trouble with the original round Apple earphones. From the iPhone 3 to 4S, I could never get them to fit into my ear and sit naturally. They would always sit at an odd angle and let the sound leak out (resulting in very tinny audio).

My other alternative was to mash the earphones into my ear, but this was always a temporary solution as the earphones would eventually pop out again.

In short, these earpods suffer the same issue as the original earphones. They're too large and refuse to sit comfortably in my ear.

I've watched videos of people placing these earpods in their ears and they seem to fit very comfortably and snuggly, but they just don't work for me.

Of my experience with these earpods so far -- The audio quality is great, and there's a massive reduction in the noise that comes from handling the cable.

But all of these positive points mean nothing if the earpods don't fit in my ear.

Apple needs to make a SMALLER version of these earpods -- Based on the reviews i'd be happy to pay a premium for them, so long as they fit. As for now, i'm sticking with my Sennheiser 598 headphones, as no earphone on the market seems to fit me correctly.

    Apple Earphones

The sound is great, although in comparison to the previous generation its just a bit different. However, the fit is terrible. The buds are constantly slipping out. I feel as though the fit might be too big.

    Great sound, not great fit

I got these with the iPod Touch 5th gen. and I must say the sound was surprisingly good. The bass is really good for in-ear headphones and the music is very clear. What disappointed me was the fit. It was all hyped up to be a perfect fit for all ears, but they are not as sturdy as I would have liked. I am 15 years old, and I have huge ears, so that could be a reason. Plus I am disappointed with the remote and mic not coming with the iPod version. Other than that, I love the headphones.

Good headphones but may be a little problem

These headphones are great! the sound quality is good, the bass is decent but there is one problem i found. On songs that have worst sound quality than Itunes standard make my headphones crackle. I'm not sure if this is just my pair. And also these aren't very comfortable (maybe because i didn't wear the old headphones). Overall not bad.

    not bad

the sound is awesome, and they are the only ear buds that fit in my ears all others fall out and never fit right. The only thing is the plastic is hard and it really hurts after a few minutes.

    Most 5 star ratings Exaggerate

Okay, I've had the original earbuds from apple since 2006 and although they weren't Bose quality they did the trick. I got these new ear pods with my iPhone 5 and agree that they are better. But NOT significantly better. Before I got them I was pretty excited because I was looking into purchasing Bose or Beats by Dre headphones. After reading the ratings I reconsidered because several people proclaimed the apple earpods were better. FALSE!
These things are an upgrade from the old version, but no where near the sound quality of premium earphones. I gave these a thorough test comparison with the old version and found them to be about a decibel louder and a tad bit clearer. This makes sense, because they are designed to channel sound down the ear canal.
If your previous earbuds are busted, I'd recommend these. If you're looking for good sound on a budget below $50, I'd definitely recommend these. If you like apple's products and want these to go with your iPod or iPhone as a style thing, I'd also recommend these. HOWEVER, if you're looking for premium sound quality, DON'T let other reviews or ratings fool you. I would never recommend these over Bose or Beats by Dre products.
