    Love them but...

These are my favorite headphones, but I want to get the iPhone 7, and these are not compatible. Please make a version that is either wireless or has a lightning port! Please!!!

    Great product

Everyone who has written a review saying "its trash" or "they don't fit" either doesn't know how to change the silicone buds or hasn't used them. SMH

Solid, responsive headphones for the price

$79 is hard to beat for good dual-driver headphones. My first set lasted from 2008-2014 - at which point I replaced them. Still going strong in 2016. I do suggest getting extra ear covers (the silicone tips). Make sure that the right size is used for optimal base response. The wrong size will result in little to no bass.

Very clear mids and treble. Quiet bass. Two speakers per ear-bud.

Cheapest dual driver in-ear headphones--meaning that each bud has two speakers instead of one.

Very neutral headphones. Great for classical music. Mediocre for electronic music. Bass is there, but for many it may be too quiet as most individuals are not used to relatively flat spectrum reproduction. This explains the poor reviews, and why equipment that sweetens the bass and treble sells better--Bose, Skull Candy, etc.

These are my second pair. They do rip easily if you don't take care of them.

Also look into buying foam tips. The insulation from outside sound is far superior, and thus the bass doesn't leak out and is stronger. Be warned, foam tips wear very quickly and can be pricey--10-20 dollars for a set of 3. The included tips are very durable, but are part of the reason the bass is weak.

I'm disappointed they don't have a new version with lightning port

I love these earphones. I've gone through 2 different pairs in about 6 years. I use them 3-4+ hours a day. They're really comfortable and they don't break. I need to replace my current ones because the wires are starting to show, the ear phones still work though. I was really hoping apple would upgrade them to include lightning port, but so far it doesn't look like it. I'm disappointed because It's difficult to find comfortable earphones.

Don't believe the negative reviews, these are incredible, and I'll prove it

These headphones are the most underrated product Apple sells.

These are EARPLUG headphones. They plug your ears, not just sit inside them like other types of earbuds, and they certainly don't sit in top of your head like two small cans of cat food. They are elegant, minimal, and wonderful.

No other headphones come close to blocking outside sound, letting your music gloriously play in your ear as it was meant to be enjoyed.

Screaming baby in seat 34F? No problem, pop these in, and you'll enjoy several dB of noise reduction instantly. You don't even need to put on the music.

Horns, taxis, sirens, or just noisy spouse asking why you're a bum?

No problem, put these on, and you won't hear a thing.

Because they block outside sound, they leave your ears with nothing but the joyous music you desire. It arrives clear and booming (if you're into bass) because its airtight in your ear canal the entire inner ear is used as a bass chamber.

It's a shame because people don't fit them correctly. Apple generously gives you several sizes to fit. But no consumer product can have every size needed, so they might just not work for you.

But if you do get them sized correctly, you will absolutely be amazed at the sound quality.

I really hope Apple releases a Lightning cable version of these soon!

Best headphones I have ever owned. Period.

First of all, these have the clearest sound quality of any headphone I've tried, barring my HDMI gaming headset. For the price, these have been amazing and also the longest lasting headphones, still going strong at 5 years. The biggest thing is to choose the right size rubber bud piece to fit your ear, and when you do, it will turn them into noise-cancelling headphones.

Now Apple, all you have to do is make these wireless too so I can use this for the iPhone 7, then we'll be cool.

    Love

Please NEVER get rid of these in-ear headphones Apple. I tried them when they first came out and never looked back. Things got even better when the remote was added. They are amazing for studying if you need to block things out, and stay put as long as you have selected the right size. I take them everywhere and don`t even use the protective case, they still last me a few years. If you switch out the wire mesh caps they last even longer. I recently lost my latest pair that I had for 2 years and thought I would try some other brands- they were awful. I don`t understand the low ratings because I only hear beautiful, rich sounds with these. So please Apple keep these forever.

    Best Earphones

I would like to recommend these earbuds, because they are still going strong. Even after rigorous usage the past two years, which has never occurred to me. The Apple In-Ear Headphones are not for your typical EDM-lovers. Since the earphones uses two drivers: one for bass and one for treble. With this mechanism the earphones achieves the maximal performance. Thus the sound is being protruded separately and is not getting distorted. The bass is not too heavy and the mids/highs are extremely clear. If you like natural sounding earphones, then these earphones are perfect for you. Considering the fact that normal IEMs with armatures costs > €150, these earphones have a fairly reasonable price. I bought them for €24,95 on sale.

    Great Headphones!

A million thanks to all the reviewers who stressed the importance of the right-sized ear tips. I found the sound "tinny" with the medium sized tips. With the large tips in place, the sound is impressive. Very comfortable as well. So glad I made this purchase!

    Great sound!

After a day of using these, I have to say that they impressed me right out of the gate! When the medium tips didn't quite fit my ears right, I switched them out for the included smaller tips and I was blown away. The clarity of the sound is unlike anything I've heard from previous sets of headphones. I frequently listen to a lot of movie soundtracks from Hans Zimmer, James Horner, John Williams, Danny Elfman, Nicholas Hooper, etc. With these, I was surprised by details of those soundtracks that I had never noticed. I have heard others complain that these lack prominent bass, but in the current market of bass-heavy headphones, these are a breath of fresh air. The balance is remarkable. I'm in love with these IEMs. I haven't so much as touched my Sennheisers because these are such a join to listen to.

    Great Earphones!

These are truly worth the 90 Dollars I paid for them. First off, let me just say that the review that say the bass is weak are wrong. The sound is actually balanced without boosting a single frequency. The sound is wonderfully accurate and the tone is very accurate. I highly recommend these as they are truly worth the money.

I wish these can be included with iPhones

I used to use a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which came with some really good in-ear headphones. However, I got an iPhone 4s to replace it because of a carrier switch. I still liked the in-ears but they wouldn't be able to control an iPhone so I decided to turn to Apple to find some. These are what I bought, and they're exactly the same sound quality and comfort as the Samsung ones, and they can control an iPhone because that's what they were designed for. The only con I have is that they're separately purchased items from the phone, but that's OK because they're well worth the $80.

    Don't Overrate the Bass!

People who complain about the Bass level are clearly overrating it. Low-quality headphones trade crispness and clarity for loudness and it has nothing to do with "quality".
Apple's headphones deliver a close-to-input sound. I had them for almost 3 years and I have recently lost the button functionality and sometimes the sound disappears (obviously the cord is broken). I haven't lost a single cap. The only concern was the quality of rubber around the junctions. Maybe they fixed it in 2013 update (like they did with all of the rubber on the standard headphones a couple of years ago).
3 years is an amazing lifespan for any thin-cord headphones and I will continue to use Apple's headphones.

Strong bass is achieved with right earbuds

I own a $1500 custom monitors from Ultimate Ears. Please read my review of Apple In-Ear Headphones in this perspective.

You cannot possibly purchase better-sounding headphones at this price, period. Many reviews here have complained about a perceived lack of bass. These headphones come with middle-size earbuds installed. Upon purchase, I immediately tried these headphones on a treadmill and strong disappointed with lack of bass and insufficient noise isolation. At that time, the middle-size earbuds felt right to my ears.

The next day, I decided to give the large-size earbuds. In a quiet listening, I listened to the same tunes that I had listened to on the treadmill. I could not believe a dramatic improvement in smooth and strong bass tones and overall tonal clarity, blessed with superb noise isolation.

As some reviewers here have also pointed out, it is absolutely imperative to experiment with the three different sizes of earbuds that come with these Apple headphones. One tip is that, if you are comfortable with it, you may want to moisten the earbuds with your lips. This practice would increase noise isolation further.

True, as good as these Apple headphones sound, they are no match for custom monitors with ear molds made only for your ear canals. But, it is absolutely true that you would never find a better price-performance with headphones for iDevices than these Apple headphones.

Give them a try and be patient with earbuds. You'd be rewarded with the feeling that you had never spent $79 on anything better than these headphones.

    Great headphones

I have to agree with prior reviewers, you really need to make sure you've got the right size ear buds attached. I tried on all three (SM,MD & LG), and after finding the right fit (MD for me), these things stay in your ear. They're comfortable and the sound is really great.

I've ended my quest for the perfect in-ear headphones!
