    Amazingly high quality slim case

This case is well worth my $40. I've tried endless amounts of cases on my iPhone 5 and I'm so glad Apple finally released their own version. The fitment couldn't be any better considering it's made by apple. The leather is a little smooth but provides much more grip than going naked. The quality of the leather is so soft, I'm looking forward to see how the leather ages and becomes a distressed look. The buttons and holes all match up so perfectly, I didn't expect any less from Apple.

Probably the best iPhone case I've had to date. The suede inside prevents dust from acting as a lubricant where the abrasion effect occurs, and the fit is uncanny. The fitting of this case allows for the user to see the metal band around the phone, which I find very, very, very, very esthetically pleasing. The case fits very tightly which is wonderful. I feel like this case won't wear out very soon. I will do a review once I have used it for a couple of months. Amazing job on this case. Fits the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5 perfectly!

Exactly what I've been waiting for

I purchased the brown and this case fits perfect on my white iPhone 5. Feels great in the hand and has a smooth button action. I will defiantly pick up additional colors. Great price for a great product. This is my third leather case (Jcrew and Restoration Hardware) and now my favorite. This case is a little difficult to remove but that could just be because I didn't want to pop my phone out and it fall, but working the corners does the trick.

Great Case w/ a Couple Minor Issues

I was a little nervous about spending $40 on a case for my phone, but I'm thrilled that I did. I bought this case for my iPhone 5 and I just wish it had been available all along.

The case is very slim. I don't have precision measuring equipment, but the case adds about 2.4mm to the thickness of the phone, taking it from 7.6mm to about 10mm; a hair over 1 mm thicker than the 5C. The lip of the case stands about 1mm higher than the face of the phone, making it safe to lay face down on a flat surface.

The case is held to the phone by a ridge that runs all the way around the inside of the case which grabs on to the chamfered edge. This keeps the entire face of the phone clear, gives it a very snug fit, and makes the case solid enough that it feels like it is actually part of the phone. There is a little bit of a trick to getting the case off the phone, but it's not *that* difficult

The leather provides a good amount of grip without making it too difficult to get in or out of a pocket. It doesn't actually feel much like leather though. It feels more like the high-quality rubberized backing of other, lesser smartphones.

Volume buttons are easy to press, the lightning port and silence switch are easy to access, and as far as I can tell the holes for the microphone and speaker line up exactly, but older 3.5mm jacks have a hard time squeezing into the gap left for the headphone jack.

My only two complaints with the case are that the power button is pretty hard to press, and if you sit down with your phone in your pocket the corners of the case will sometimes pry loose. Both very minor complaints, but worth mentioning.

    Buy this case!

great feel, but hole to small for many auxiliary cables

Pros: lightweight, fits like a glove, and feels great.
Cons: Many auxiliary cables, including the Belkin cable sold in Apple Stores, have jacks too wide to fit in the small hole that the case provides. That's a major pain if you have several non-bluetooth speaker systems that you want to plug into.

    Soooo disappointed

This does not seem like an apple product. Coming from someone who is a huge apple fan. The positives. The fit is very good and tight. I hate loose cases so was happy when i popped this on my new 5s. Thats were the good ends. Now on to why I returned this case. The first thought I had when I pulled it out the box is, "i paid $40 for this?" I own many apple products and use to paying a premium price for their products, but i'm ok b/c it's typically a superior product on the market. Not this case, unfortunately. The volume buttons and sleep/wake are covered like most cases, and are very unresponsive. You really have to mash them hard to operate, which that alone makes this case not very functional. the super thin leather, stretched over thin plastic feels very cheap (not like any other apple product) I'm sure the cost to make these are less than $5 and it shows. Considering what you can get on the market at this price point, I cant justify buying this case. I'm most shocked that apple would put their logo on this product. I wanted it to work so bad, but the black and blue one I bought for my wife and I's new 5s are going back. So sad.

Issue with headphone jack and lighting adapter

I have the lighting adapter (made by Apple) that fits on the old 30 pin, well guess what, it doesn't fit with this case on.

Also I have a pair of Sony MDR headphones, guess what, it doesn't fit the headphone opening. I would imagine most studio or over the ear headphones won't fit this case. Amazingly designed cases shouldn't have these issues, or at least support your own products.

Stains easily, not grip-y enough, lousy purchase experience

I've owned this case (beige) for 24 hours. The case is decent, but there are a few key issues already:

    1) One of the key reasons I own a case is to protect the phone when I drop it, but this case does almost nothing to prevent drops in the first place. The leather does not have enough tack to keep it from sliding off surfaces or fall out of my hand.

    2) I've had the case for less than 24 hours, and already the leather corners are turning blue from being inside my jeans pocket. These jeans are almost a year old, have been washed plenty of times, and don't stain other items that I own. (I purchased a beige case, which obviously will stain more easily than a dark-colored case, but still.)

    3) I purchased this at the Apple store, and it was a lousy experience. There was no way to touch or feel the case without purchasing it first. I even asked an Apple salesperson, and they had no samples available. They suggested that I take it out of the packaging right when I was purchasing it, and if I didn't like it, return it right away. Absurd.

This is not Apple's finest product.

Gorgeous case - difficult to remove

Yesterday I bought the iPhone 5s and the black leather case along with it. It's a beautiful case; the leather feels fantastic. So, as a case, it definitely earns five stars.

The challenge comes with (as with any case) fitting thicker headphone cords into it or fitting the phone into the dock. Normally, the solution is to just take the case off for a bit and then snap it back on. The 5s case is just far too difficult to remove to make this work. It takes 15-30 seconds of really prying and pushing to get it even partially out of the case.

    Best iPhone Case Ever

Picked up this case today for my iPhone 5. The leather case feels amazing. I finally have a case that I like as much as my iPhone.

    Doesn't allow docks

This case is a good snug fit, but it doesn't allow you to use any iPhone Dock. Including those designed and made by Apple. Horrible design flaw. Come on apple you can do better!

Best case ever made for any phone....

Very impressed with the flawless construction. Snug fit so don't expect to take it on and off easily, tho that should not be an issue with most users.

Be warned: The 5s with this case cannot be used in the new Apple iPhone 5s dock :(

    Very Dissappointed!

The quality of the case is ok but not worth $39. The biggest problem is that you cannot use an Apple adapter to charge the phone when this case is on the phone! The adapter does not fit in far enough to connect and charge the phone without taking the case off--each time you want to charge. Very poor design by Apple who created the adapter AND this case which don't work together.

Like the case but lightning adapter connector wont reach!

I have this case on my 5, my 5S is shipping soon. But I tried the 30 pin lightning adapter while in the case and it won't reach/connect!!! Wonder if the 5S lightning connector in the base of the phone is closer/different that that on the iphone 5??

    Nice but no thanks

It’s a nice case but I cannot plug in my Bose ear buds, car charger or the adapter. What a nice forty dollar piece of junk. Way to go Apple!

    Hard to press the buttons

The quality of the case seems very good. However, with the case on, it is little hard to press the power on buttons and volume buttons. With iPhones 5s, you have the option to double click on the home button (using fingerprint scanner) to turn the phone on.
With so many good reviews, i'm thinking of trying it one more time. It could be that mine is defective

Not compatible with lightning connector or dock

Sure, the leather case is good quality leather, but its not compatible with Apple's own lightning connectors or docks, so you have to take it out every day to actually use your phone.

Case Fail - won't support Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

The shape of the case will not allow you to plug in the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter.

You have to remove the case to use the adapter. As most of you will be charging the phone at home, in the car and at work, can you imagine the frustration that is ripping off this case to charge the phone multiple times a day?

Also, the material of the case will lead to color smudging very quickly. Like a mister clean eraser, the case will turn blackish real quick.

If this will bother you, take a pass on this case. Case Fail.

Great Leather Case - Worthy of the iPhone 5S

This is a great case that is quality leather. I liked it so much that I bought 3 cases. It is the first case I've owned that is quality enough for an iPhone. Love the Apple logo on the back. The price is good and for only $10 more than most other cases you get nice leather that feels great in your hand. Because of the quality it will last a lot longer than those other cheap cases. It provides great protection for your iPhone 5S or iPhone 5. Only negative is that it is a little snug and tough to remove. However if you pop off the two bottom corners and then flip it over and pull, it comes off pretty easy. Great job Apple!!!

    Great until it cracks

I have had the case for a little over a month and have been delighted with it until it cracked at the thin part by the lightning pin port. This case has been treated gently, it is a shame that it lacks durability.
