    Bose headphones

    • Written by from Anaheim

If you have Bose headphones the hole in the case for the headphone jack is too small so the case needs to be taken off to use the headphones each time other than that the product works great.

Nice, but some frustrations with the hinge

    • Written by from Indianapolis

I like the feel, and my iPad Air stays snug in the case. I also like the patina mine has acquired. The problem I have is that the hinge has gotten a bit stretched over time and so the "smart function"--putting the iPad to sleep when I close the cover--doesn't always work as the magnets no longer line up. All in all though, I much prefer leather to synthetic materials.

    Well made but design flaw

    • Written by from Cupertino

The execution of the case is very nice: material, fit and finish are five stars. Design is two stars, maybe even one, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how someone at Apple let that ugly, in the way, eyesore of a hinge bump be produced. It is not a design necessity (the top cover hinge of the faux leather Invellop case is beautiful designed and it sits in a recess in the back shell). I will also comment about the lack of dark brown and navy blue, but since I am not going to keep it for other reasons, that wouldn't help it this time.

    Design Flaw for sure

Too bad design can't really use this as a stand. Thumbs down. Money spent is gone for a waste

    Sleek Protective Case, Terrible Stand

    • Written by from Minneapolis

Pros: Very slim and adds little weight compared to other cases, nice feel in your hands, no awkward cut outs
Cons: can barely stand with its flimsy flip cover - the Smart Cover for the previous iPad was WAAAY more sturdy

    Good case but too expensive

    • Written by from SEABROOK

I got this case for Christmas and it does everything it says it does except holding it up on portrait mode. I am mostly satisfied with this case but think the price is outrageous. I would NOT have paid over $80.00 for it.

    Smart Case iPad Air

    • Written by from Peru

I like this case. I made a loop out of 1/4 inch elastic to keep it closed and also placed a row of binder clips in the folded edge to make a better crease. After removing the clips, it does close flat. I wish the design would include a silicone bump on the 4 corners to give a little more drop protection, but otherwise am happy with this case. I did purchase it with my Black Friday gift card offer and would not have paid $80 for it. But it is sleek, lightweight, and the cover does provide some resistance that may keep it from slipping out of my hand.

Not as good as previous cases...

    • Written by from Toa Alta

It feels great. It is very light, and looks good. I think they need to improve the front cover, it does not lay flat when it's closed. Also is not good when is used as a stand. I don't use it because it does not feel secure. Overall, looks good, feels great, not as good as previous models.

    Ipad doesn't sleep when close

    • Written by from LAS VEGAS

I bought this cover to match my new IPhone 5s. It did sleep when I closed it during the first week but after a month of use, (I'm right here in New Zealand using this as my camera since I left my nikon in the airport), it doesn't automatically turns off anymore??? I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I may have to go back to the store and ask them. Really love it though except for that part. I love the feel of the cover and protection, but the same cover of my IPhone got cut when my phone accidentally dropped, it did protect my phone from the scratch though! I read about the reviews where it doesn't fold flat but no one mentioned this concern I have. I'm just wondering why???

    Nice case, bad stand

    • Written by from Sarver

$80 and does not function very well as a stand in any position. 3 stars because I love the case itself, thin, light, nice! for $40 it is a great case, for $80 as a case and a stand, forget about it!

    Quality is just so-so

    • Written by from Battle Ground

I find the case to be flimsy and not what quality I have come to expect from Apple. I have chosen to spend another $20 and get another brand of case with a keyboard.

Great for a cover, terrible stand.

    • Written by from Santa Monica

I don't usually write reviews, but thought I'd leave one for this. I needed a quick case for my ipad and picked up this one. Protects it great and fits perfect, but the stand part I'd horrible. You have to get it in the perfect spot or the stand won't hold and fall. When more cases come out I think I'll be looking for a replacement.

Open Gap and Does Not Turn Off

    • Written by from Senoia

Looks beautiful and feels great. HOWEVER, there is a good sized gap so the cover does not lay flat and that may be why my IPad does not turn off when closed. Or, is it like the refrigerator light and when you peek in the light is always on. Hhm?

    Pricey and not very functional

    • Written by from Westfield

I don't know why Apple discontinued their polycarbonate cases. The only option they currently have for the Air is this leather version. The leather does have a nice feel to it. While it does have magnets in the cover to turn the iPad on and off, the cover is nearly impossible to fold properly in order to get the iPad to stand. The polycarbonate version could lock into position; the leather one curls in on itself. While I realize that leather isn't cheap, this seems like a high price to pay for something that doesn't do what it's supposed to.

    Just ok

    • Written by from Socorro

    The good:
Very nice feel in the hands.
    Provides a good grip.
Colors match their iPhone leather counterparts.

    The bad:
The hinge sticks out too much, breaking the smooth lines of the device and creating an extraneous flap most other cases do not have.
The hinge prevents the top cover from laying fully flat on the iPad screen, something the smart cover does not suffer from.
The stand is way too flimsy.

    Yes, it's true; good, but...

    • Written by from New York

As has already been fairly stated, this is a decent case because it is light-weight, provides a good seal, and is usable as a stand. However, it has limitations as a stand because it is less than rock-steady and may not provide what you consider to be the best viewing angle. Finally, for $79, there has GOT to be a better choice out there. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one. So, I bought it and like, but recognize the fact that it is not necessarily the perfect case, and I have to imagine that it is not the best deal to be had.

    Decent case...

    • Written by from Santa Barbara

    - snug fit (it's quite difficult to take the iPad out of the case)
    - smooth leather

    - certain earphone jack plugs won't fit
    - durability concern (especially the "rim" part of the top cover which has been glued to the bottom cover)

To me, pressing on the volume control/lock buttons is alright, I don't have complaints. Standing either way (keyboard or facetime position) is also stable for me. I can press anywhere on my iPad without worrying about it falling.

If you're a perfectionist-type of a person, I recommend going to an apple store to grab one, because not all of the brand-new cases looked perfect (i.e. with wrinkles and/or discolorations).

The quality of the case to me is worth 4 stars (assuming it won't break easily), but I give it 3 for its high price. As pointed out in the cons section, I am the most afraid it might just tear off eventually, because it seems like glue was used to hang the top cover to the bottom cover... Time will tell.

Nice texture, looks great on white iPad

    • Written by from Atlanta

The brown case looks great on the white iPad air. I agree with the previous reviews about the stand not being as sturdy as possible. I also get irritated when I'm holding the iPad air vertically because the case does not lay flat against the back.

    Color and material

    • Written by from Alexandria

3/5 durability and color not what I had hoped for

I wish there was a non leather option (as is the cover offering) for those of us who would prefer not to use leather or would like something more durable - and I wish that there was a bright green offered (as there is in the cover offering).

    - wasn't there a synthetic case in green for the last iPad?
