    Almost Perfect

I love this stand. It does exactly what it is intended to do- raise the laptop to a comfortable level, decreases the laptop's footprint on a desk, and styled to match the MacBook Pro. I don't really recommend resting your hands on the laptop to type when using the stand. It's clearly designed to be paired up with an external keyboard and mouse. The only drawback for me was the price. The stand is too painfully simple to be 50 bucks. If Rain Design could knock the price down to under $40, I would give this stand 5 stars.

I looked at several of the stands here for a MacBook Pro17. This one didn't disappoint. A single curved piece of thick aluminum, its stylish and functional. Allows an accessory keyboard to be stuck out of the way (into the curve). But that curve in the aluminum (with no bracing) means its somewhat spring-like. When you hit your desk or work surface, it bounces a little (like any spring). Other than that, the pads are thick, the quality is good and it was worth the money.

    Easily worth the price...

...if you've got disposable income. Great product, does what it's supposed to do and looks good in the process. Quite expensive tho!

The best laptop stand on the market

    * sturdy/rock solid - your MacBook isn't going to move
    * As the stand is designed to have your macbook angled towards you, the viewing angle is comfortable.
    * Flawless design when sitting next to any iMac/Cinema Display
    * Rubber sections on the stand that make sure you don't damage your Macbook, & it doesn't easily move around.

*Keep the box for moving/traveling around.
*If, you are short in height, save yourself time do some measuring, place your laptop on a flat surface, then raise it about 6". See if this is to your liking.

This really is a wonderful stand. I had not wanted to purchase an external keyboard so I thought that I'd bare it out using the internal one with possibly few stress related problems but after I set it up, wow! I hadn't ANY discomfort in typing on this! It's slanted to a perfect degree for me and it's quite comfortable.

I had read a review here stating that for a 5' 3" person, this was a bit too high for them. However my being the same height, my preference would actually be for it to be elevated another inch or two.

All in all, it's a very sturdy product and it's been a delight to have. I can't dream a life without it now!! I'm definitely recommending this to my stepdad who hunches over his notebook all day long. (Perhaps I'll buy it as his birthday present? ;] )

    Love It!

I chewed the cud over buying this for weeks. Finally went ahead and bought it. It works great for me. The hole in the back to organize your cables was a little rough around the edges but other than that flawless design. Very happy that I have it, even with the rubber stops that my computer sits on it still seems to work very well as a heat sink. Had the hole in the back had a better seal for cables this would have gotten five stars. Matches perfectly with the aluminum on my macbook pro 17" and supports it easily and very sturdy comparable to sitting flat on a desk. This is the best stand I have ever owned, I used to have a Griffin iCurve and my old 17" slid off and my screen broke, the rubber grips couldn't hold it without sliding. The rain has a lip with rubber stops so I don't have to worry about that.

    Awesome Quality! Beautiful Finish! Sturdy!

Over all I am very happy with this stand. As I write this review I have my 15'' Macbook Pro (2010) on it, and while there is a little big of wiggle, but it is not annoying at all.

My only complaint stems more from how I intend to use my Macbook Pro.. as a little recording studio. I bought it so that I could prop my laptop up on the desk with an Axiom Pro keyboard in front of it. The stand brings the front of the laptop just a bit too low for the Axiom Pro to slide under it without scraping it. So basically my one improvement would be to make it adjustable (which would take away from the single piece of aluminum design) or to make it slightly less angled so there is more room below it. Again, I realize this is kind of a personal issue, just wanted to point that out incase anyone else wants to use it like that. I realize I could just get one of those ugly desks designed for that, but sometimes form is as important as function.

    Best macbook stand IMO

Just received mine from UPS -
it's a little wobbly if you are typing on it. I'm not, and that's not my reason for buying it.
It elevates it to a good height but since it is not adjustable, you had better have an adjustable chair unless you are lucky and it is the perfect height for your eyes.
Styling is excellent and the design really opens up space to use under the macbook, which I think is its greatest strength. My keyboard sneaks a little bit under and I have my external under there hiding.
It is a little pricey, but it's not macbook specific and you could potentially use this with every laptop you get for the rest of your life.

It's a solid 4.5/5 - I dont toss around 5's and the price made me think it over for a few weeks.

    slick, simple stand

Very good looking stand, matches the design of aluminum Macbooks (used it with the original aluminum Macbook pro and the unibody as well, both 15 inches).

Cut out in the stand help with routing your keyboard and mouse wiring.

The stand is very stable and gets the screen to a good height (i am 6'4") but it might be a little high for smaller people. Four stars because it could use height adjustment... but then it wouldn't be as slick right?

    Just what I needed

Puts my 13-inch macbook at the right height for ergonomics and the camera and just looks cool on my desk. I had a wireless keyboard that is really put to good use using this stand...of course you probably wouldn't use this stand without a wireless keyboard and mouse. I've had 3 ladies whistle at my mStand today and offer favors to see it. True story.

If I had a keyboard and mouse

I think this would be a great alternative to a desktop. Standing I can use this fine. Sitting, it's awkward. It looks great with the MacBook Air 13.

Looks Great on desk, compliments iMac

I bought this to keep my PC off my desk and store my work laptop under. I didn't want the clutter around my brand new shinny iMAC. The stand it self is built of high strength Aluminum, it matches the same curvature of the iMac stand really compliments it nicely. It really looks nice and for $50 how could you go wrong. Nice product and it looks really nice on desk. Plus as I stated earlier it allows for additional storage under it to help clean clutter up on workspace.

    Great product! High Price.

This stand matches the Mac aluminum look perfectly! When paired with an external keyboard and mouse it serves its purpose well. I'm glad I bought this stand.

The only issue I had with it was the price! $50 for a laptop stand? Ouch. But I guess thats what you pay for good looks. ;P
