    Blue Yeti Pro USB

Upgraded to Lion OS X and Blue Yeti Pro. Does not work. When plugged in USB, the cable is loose light blinks. Seems high quality product, but manufacturer skimps on updates and fixes. Spent approx $300, and very upset with Apple and Blue for not resolving before launch.

A quick search reveals that many others are having this issue. Try to avoid investing in USB microphone until Apple or Blue resolve this issue.

    Issues with El Capitan

My Yeti Pro, which worked flawlessly with Yosemite and Windows 10, does not work with El Capitan. Caveat emptor!

Just got it yesterday. Plugged into USB on iMac. Turned on computer and it will not show in Sound of System Preferences as it says it will. Tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and still nothing. Does not work with Lion OS it seems.

    Blue Yeti connection problem

I got the blue yeti mic as a gift for christmas, a couple weeks after having it the power supply starts cutting in and out over and over again, the mic wont work for anything i need it to. very un happy with the gift. It is not the cord either it is the mic itself i use the same cord for my camera to up load pictures. I called apple to return it but they said it was too late. for the week it did work the sound quality was very good.

Avoid this microphone. The USB mini-B connector used is prone to problems.

I've had my brand new Blue Yeti for less than a week. I really wanted to like this microphone, and bought it based on the excellent reviews for sound quality, etc. However, you are gambling if you buy this microphone. The connection to the computer is unreliable at best: for me, it drops most of the time unless I lightly hold the cable end in place with a light finger touch.

This problem is a result of the use of the USB mini-B connector, and because of that, I'm unlikely to simply exchange my unit for another because the mini-B connector is a known source of problems. Just search for the question "Why was Mini USB deprecated in favor of Micro USB?" and you'll understand: "poor reliability after a significant but not vast number of uses." (Very few uses, in my case.)

I can't recommend this microphone until and unless Blue releases a new version addressing the issue.

Sad that it does not work in El Capitan

Very disappointing. Worked great prior to El Capitan and now it does not work.

5 stars if your using an OS prior to El Capitan

Like several other reviewers here, I've had my Yeti microphone for several years. It's worked flawlessly on every Mac OS revision up until El Capitan. I must have the "newer" mic version according to Blue since I don't have the connection issues, but instead I have horrendous glitches in my recorded audio that manifest themselves as either small gaps or large noise spikes in the resulting waveforms. I've been recording podcasts with this mic on my 2012 MacBook Pro and have not had any issues until I upgraded to El Capitan.

Fortunately I had a Time Machine backup and was able to revert back to Yosemite (which was a 5+ hour ordeal) and now everything is back the way it was. I suppose I'll just have to stick with 10.10 for the foreseeable future, which really stinks since I can't take advantage of the iOS9 features on my iPhone that depend on El Capitan (ie. the new Notes app, for one).

    Way too sensitive

This mic is way too sensitive even with the gain a quarter from zero. It amplifies anything and everything even on another floor. I have no choice but to return it as even with the gain set to 0, I end up hearing a buzzing noise.

Does Not Work with El Capitan

Loved the mic when it worked! Now with the El Capitan update, it won't connect. Neither company will take responsibility and provide a fix. I couldn't be more upset! Of course, my review won't matter to either company either. So, I just have to take it up the rear again because of Apple's lame update.

    Not working for no reason

I've owned this mic for 5+ years. It worked with the last 4 OSs, but not El Capitan. Someone posted a message on another forum from a Blue Mic representative which basically said that this mic has an old chip in it and is not supported anymore. Great, thanks Blue! Now that's customer satisfaction! Stay away from Blue products, you never know when they're going to pull the plug. Hopefully I can get some money for this POS on ebay.

10.11.2 El Capitain NOT WORKING for USB Yeti Pro Microphone WHEN wil

    Dear Mr. Tim Cook
My Yeti USB Microphone will not work with El Capitain .
It works perfectly under Yosemite on the same hardware
    Apple please Fix this issue
I have 10.11.2 and it still will not work
I booted from external drive via USB with Yosemite 10.10.5 and it held solid under sound properties. But under 10.11.2 it goes out and in .
There is a serious problem with El Capitan abilities with USB
    PLEASE FIX this issue
I have always been a fan of apple for a long time
This type of issue should not happen
Quality control of OS is very important
I Wonder if the resources are being devoted to Mac OS X

No sound, no volume control, no Apple return

I purchased this item but I did not open it for a few weeks. It does not work at all. The volume knob is not fixed, there is no sound although it receives power. The Apple Return policy refers to goods you can return online and goods you can't. It then speaks to returnable items and ignores un-returnable items. Australian consumer law protects unworkable items but Apple doesn't account for that. I am about to leave for overseas where I need to use this item for fieldwork. $300 down the drain. It's a disaster. It's so disappointing now to find so many negative reviews online about the YetiPro which 'has no gain' that the fantastic quality sound was never going to be heard.
