Dont believe the lies..IT WORKS WITH EL CAP

Yeah the Yeti works with EL CAP. I currently own one and am running EL CAP on my 2015 Macbook Pro 13 retina and am able to use my mic with no issues. That being said, I have no idea why people keep saying it doesn't work....because....it clearly does.

    Great, but not for everyone.

    sounds great
you can plug in a seperate headset to hear yourself,
volume knob, (mic input level, 'gain')
    mountable on normal mic stands
    looks awesome
    plug and go
can hear from a specific direction.

    its huge. VERY huge
hard to record yourself talk, IF you are trying to game with this.
need foam under stand (or something soft) to lessen keyboard typing noise
if mounted to a stand, its huge, and can have weight balancing problems.
wont work well if you have a loud room, (loud heater, A/C, family, friends) as it picks up their sounds,

I might have a lot of cons, considering i'm rating it for a 5-star product, but those are things i find are important to note for people who may need to know. However, i'm rating this 5-star regardless because you just cant get a better sounding mic for that price.

I love this mic, I bought this because I want and need to record songs, I own a mac and I can totally hear the difference between just recording with the built-in mic in the photo booth recording and using the blue yeti mic to record, the difference is amazing. If anyone's looking to buy a mic for recording songs, podcasts, voiceovers, or just for maybe video or voice chatting, I recommend this mic.

    LOVE this product.

This is my second microphone now. My first was from a completely different company and it somehow developed a terrible tinny, static sound over time and I was so disappointed so I had high hopes for this one. I record music and vocals on a regular basis so I needed a microphone I could really depend on.

First of all, the design is so beautiful and practical. Turning the mic upside down in the holder is a great way to store it on your desk when it's not in use (whereas with my old mic, I had to store it in my desk drawer in a sock, otherwise it would just lay there and roll around and get damaged). It's very simplistic and it actually feels a bit lighter than it looks.

The sound quality is impeccable and really not expected from a $150 microphone. I've only had mine for about 3 months now but it really hasn't seemed to age at all. It's also very easy to use on a mac, not complicated at all.

I would recommend this product to anyone for any reason.

Solid, well built device. Great user interface, all you had to do was plug in and start recording. So happy that I treated myself to this microphone. The sound is fantastic, and there are multiple settings on the physical microphone for any type of recording you wish to do.

    Best USB mic

This is the best USB mc I have used, even better than the goofy snow ball. I use this for voice overs and Garageband. If you have even the slightest concept of how to record music this will work perfect for vocals and acoustic instruments. Great product.

    Just freaking awesome!!

Got the Yeti a couple of days ago and connected it up to my Macbook pro running Lion and had no issues at all. I was recording in a couple of minutes of unboxing. Also works like a charm on my iPad 2 but does need a powered hub (I have a small Belkin one) to work. Word great with garageband and other recording apps. Awesome to have a studio quality mic for the price, especially with all the modes and patterns that this baby has! Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

    Works exactly as advertised.

Having messed with music & recording equipment for years, I recently made the move to Apple and recording on the computer. I didn't want to have to buy interfaces and cords to use my existing equipment. I wanted something that would sound good and was easy to use. I got what I paid for. The mic sounds good on vocals and recording my acoustic guitar. I would recommend this mic to friends and family. It is plug and play....

This microphone is fantastic. I bought it to use with my laptop, and it does that perfectly. I got the idea to try it with my iPad2. I used the Apple Camera Connection Kit and plugged the microphone in. I did receive a message that the iPad couldn't power the device, however it works perfectly with the iPad. I have been using this for about a year with multiple Macs and iPads with no problems or issues. I reccomend this microphone to anyone needing a reliable, quality way to record audio. And it looks really cool!

Fix iPad "Cannot power this device" issue.

Just buy a cheap POWERD USB hub from anywhere. Plug the Camera Connection Kit into the USB hub and also plug the Blue Yeti into the USB hub, and it should work!

    Folk Artists Dream

I initially purchased the Yeti strictly for the purpose of recording vocals as all of my guitar tracks are usually recording using a direct input. Eventually I decided to try recording a live take with multiple musicians along with vocals and the sound was amazing. Plug in and record. Love it!

    My experience in 2 weeks

Blue is definitely a great company who make great products for both consumers and professionals. I by no means am a music professionals, just someone who prides himself in putting in a quality effort, with quality products to produce a quality result.

The Yeti is very simple to connect. Plug and Play in all honesty. I do voiceover work for footage of video games and publish my content on YouTube. Coming from the built-in mic on my iMac, I decided I needed something that would give my viewers a more pleasing, professional experience. This is it. With the ability to select between different pickup patterns, and the built in input for listening to yourself, this was a purchase I was not about to miss.

5 stars. Great voice quality with no editing, solid build, hefty but professional feeling. For the money, you can't go wrong.

    Fantastic Microphone

Excellent Microphone! This mic picks up the clicking of my phone's keyboard from 6 feet. The clarity is unbelievable, it picks up all of my instruments (including what I consider to be a rather soft ukulele) like a charm. It sounds so good, the music almost records itself. My only complaint (which is not really a complaint) the volume knob seems like a cheap plastic material. The different recording modes really help shape the sound to how you want it, and allow for a variety of recording scenarios. Strongly Recommended!

    Wonderful product, highly recommended!

After purchase I was surprised to notice the size of this microphone. Once I setup and configured the quality engaged me as if I was a child memorized by large volume of christmas present fantasia. If someone was to ask if I would recommend this product I would not hesitate. If your thinking about purchasing this fine piece of equipment then please go get it now!

    Stunning Audio Clarity!!!!!

I was looking at this mic online for about a month now deciding between this and the AT2020 USB mic but couldnt make up my mind... so I went ahead and bought both! I recently returned the AT2020 because the blue yeti blew the AT2020 out of the water! just the clarity alone was brilliant! The Yeti fits Perfectly on my desk and looks awesome!
It feels like a million bucks when in my hands. No complaints at all!!!!

    Great Recording Mic

Ok, let's be honest, unless you're sitting in a professionally mic'ed studio you'd be hard pressed to get a better quality than this. Blue is known for their top quality microphones. Not to throw names around, but if you look, you'll see many professionals using them. I trusted the Blue name and was not disappointed... it can pick up a room conversation with 1 mic like it's two and the people are shotgunning them.

Excellent! Be sure to turn off the iSight mic...

I do professional voice-overs and have a setup that is as simple as the Yeti connected to my MacBook Pro. This is an excellent microphone (for the price).

** Be sure to shut off your iSight microphone in OS X or else your recordings may appear to sound very bad. This sometimes does not automatically happen.
