What do I need?

To use Apple TV, make sure you have the following:

  • Broadband internet connection

    A wireless network or ethernet network with a broadband connection of 2.5Mbit/s or faster.

  • iTunes Store account

    You will need an iTunes Store account for buying or renting movies and buying TV shows. You will also need an iTunes Store account for Home Sharing.

  • High-definition TV

    AppleTV is compatible with high-definition TVs with HDMI and capable of 1080p or 720p at 60/50Hz,2 including popular models from these manufacturers: Hitachi, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, NEC, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Vizio, Westinghouse.

  • Latest version of iTunes

    For streaming media from a Mac or PC you will need iTunes 10.6 or later. Download the latest version of iTunes.
