Creating a New Song

To start working in GarageBand, you first need to create a new document for your music, called a "song." To do this:

  1. From the File menu, choose New.
  2. In the dialog that appears, select a location to store your song, type a name for your song in the Save As field, and click Create.
When you create a new song, you can also set the tempo, time signature, and key of the song, or stick with the default settings.
