After you organize your photos in iPhoto, its a good idea to make archived copies in case theyre accidentally lost or damaged. You can copy your photo library to a CD or DVD. The photos you copy onto a CD or DVD are copied complete with their keywords, titles, comments, and so on.
If you need to restore your photos, insert the disc into your computer and notice the disc icon appears in the Source list. Select the disc from your Source list and copy the photos you want to your library.
Its a good idea to use triple-coated CDs (sometimes called audio CDs) when archiving your photos. These CDs have a long life and offer more heat protection than regular CDs. They are also available at most locations where blank CDs are sold. For more protection, you should make two copies and keep them in different locations.
You can transfer a slideshow, including its background music and transition effects, directly from iPhoto to iDVD to create a DVD slideshow. To export your slides to iDVD, select an Album or Slideshow, go to the Share menu and select Send to iDVD.
