Create a Calendar

You can make a calendar using the photos in your iPhoto library. This feature allows you to showcase your photos year-round, and share them with friends and family. You can include calendar information from iCal, national holidays, and birthdays from the Birthday field in your Address Book. You can even drag pictures into the days of each month, to personalize birthdays and social events.

When your calendar design is complete, you can upload it to Apple for professional printing.

Tips

Change the location of a caption

When you add a photo to a specific date on a calendar, you can add a caption and then select whether you want the caption to appear to the left, right, top, or bottom of the photo. Just double-click the photo, type a caption, and then use the arrow buttons to determine the location of the caption.

Zoom in on a photo

If you’ve added a photo to a specific date on a calendar, you can zoom in to just the part you want. For example, if you have a group photo of your family, you can zoom in on just your mother’s face and use that for her birth date. Double-click the photo from the calendar, and then use the slider to zoom in and drag the photo to just the area you want.

Change fonts

If you want to select just the right font to use, click the Settings button from the toolbar, and then click the Fonts tab. From this tab, you can choose the font and size you want.

Steps

Create a calendar in iPhoto

  1. Calendars contain photos that are relevant to particular months, so start by creating an album for the calendar project. Each page can have more than one photo, so be sure to include more than 12 photos in the album.
  2. To start the calendar project, select the album and click Calendar.
  3. Choose a theme for your calendar, such as Picture Calendar.
  4. Include any calendar information from iCal calendars, as well as national holidays and even birthdays you’ve entered into the Birthday field in your Address Book.
  5. Click Autoflow to fill the images from your album into your calendar. You can rearrange them later as needed.
  6. When your calendar is ready, you can click Buy Calendar to order and upload your calendar project to Apple for professional-quality printing.
