Education

We support our products. And the people who use them, too.

The support and training options that come with every Mac are almost as amazing as the Mac itself. Every kind of help is available at every turn. All you have to do is decide what’s most useful for your institution. And we can help you with that, too.

Regional Training Centres. Bring creativity to the classroom.

The Regional Training Centre programme helps teachers to bring learning to life with digital technology. A national network of Apple-approved Training Centres (RTC) coach primary and secondary school teachers, together with their pupils, in the use of Apple’s digital authoring software suites - iLife and iWork - giving them the know-how to enliven school lessons with images, video and sound. Pro applications certifications. The AATCe programme.

Students and educators can get certified in any Apple pro application, the standard software in creative industries such as filmmaking, broadcast production, audio recording and photography. Becoming an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education empowers you to deliver high-quality training and certification to your students in applications used by professionals. The AATCe programme gives students a boost when they’re competing for jobs, because employers know they're ready to hit the ground running. Learn more

Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server and service certifications.

Apple offers training and certification courses that prepare your IT staff to troubleshoot Mac OS X or to implement a Mac OS X Server-based system. System administrators can go further and master directory services, deployment or advanced administration.

Your staff can use Apple Training Series books to study for exams on their own. They can also take courses at an Apple Authorised Training Center or arrange for a trainer to provide onsite instruction.

Even better, your school, college or university can qualify for the Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education and provide training and certification on the Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. This gives you the opportunity to offer your students the additional benefit of achieving Apple Pro Certification status, Apple’s own end user certification.

Face time with personal trainers.

Yearly One to One personal training memberships are an affordable, flexible way for educators to learn how to do almost anything on the Mac. Members schedule hour-long sessions with Trainers at the Apple Retail Store. In each session they can choose a specific area, like moviemaking or podcasting, in which they want to improve their skills.

Apple Trainers

Every hour is fully customised, so educators can go from trying something for the first time to learning to master a pro application, such as Aperture or Final Cut Pro. They can even bring in a project they’re developing for their class and get hands-on guidance from a Trainer.

All the tech support IT could want.

Apple’s technical support has been rated #1 in the industry year after year. Each of our products comes with 90 days of complimentary phone support and a one-year warranty. Most institutions take advantage of an AppleCare plan, which extends both the warranty and the phone support to three years from the date of purchase.

We also offer premium plans that give IT priority access to senior technical support staff who specialise in helping our education and enterprise partners.

AppleCare Help Desk Support gives two people from your IT department unlimited assistance with installing and using software, troubleshooting software and hardware, and isolating technical issues. They can also get basic help with Mac OS X Server administration and network configuration.

Mac OS X Server Software Support includes the help desk coverage and adds in-depth phone and email consultation for any server administration issue. Three tiers let you choose a level of support that matches your institution’s size and IT resources. The first tier covers up to 10 incidents. The second tier covers an unlimited number of incidents and includes a dedicated technical account manager. The third tier covers multiple locations and includes an onsite review and kick-off meeting by an Apple engineer.
