ArchiCAD is an advanced architectural design program widely used in the industry. Graphisoft has made its ArchiCAD 11 student version available as a free download for architecture students. ArchiCAD 11 student version is compatible with the professional version, and has no feature limitations. Simply download the software, and you will receive a serial number, good for a month of use. Then, after submitting proof of student status with Graphisoft, you will receive a serial number valid for a full year of study.

Apple welcomes this decision wholeheartedly. ArchiCAD was born on the Mac platform, and was the first architecture design software to integrate cutting-edge Mac OS X Tiger technologies such as Spotlight.

Exploring the project

A model in ArchiCAD is made up of a rich semantic of architectural objects (wall, doors, windows, stairs, roof, floor and so on), including their physical properties and logical relationships. As a result, conception in ArchiCAD goes beyond geometry: analysis of the building is far more informative, and communication of the project far more powerful.

ArchiCAD is also one of the most efficient tools for producing traditional plans and elevations, since they are automatically generated by and synchronised with the virtual model. However, for architecture students, ArchiCAD is above all a remarkable interactive design exploration tool.
