Why are Apple still selling this product? This one has died with all of my time machine backups on it after 3 months. The USB socket broke off. Not recommended.

Had this drive for about 3 months. The actual port that you plug the cable in to has broken clean off the workings inside and fallen into the case. So now it's just a gaping hole, with no way to actually plug the cable in. Neither Apple nor G Drive want to take responsibility and are both pointing fingers at each other with the best suggestions being to go to a data recovery company... For an Apple endorsed product one would think this will be very good but it's the total opposite! Appalled at the service and quality from both sides! In the end I had to open the enclosure myself and push the socket down onto the pcb to extract data off it but this will not work anymore. Be warned!
