  • Overview

The 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible with MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Have you checked the Fuse in the plug?

I've had my MacBook since 2008 and have never had a problem with the power supply till this morning! There was no life in it at all, I have always taken great I've had my MacBook since 2008 and have never had a problem with the power supply till this morning! There was no life in it at all, I have always taken great care of the wires but gave them a wiggle just in case, nothing! I flapped as I use it for work and looked on line and found all these bad reviews and thought, great I'll need to go and get a new one! Then I thought I would just try a new fuse in the plug just in case as I know that when plugging into certain extension sockets it has popped once or twice. I am happy to say that it worked, that's all it needed was a new 3amp fuse! sometimes its the simplest things we forget about. So it's worth trying in a new fuse next time before you think about going straight out to buy a new one, or at least if it still doesn't work you can then rule it out as being a part of the problem - Hope that helps someone!

      Works fine

I was surprised to see many negative reviews regarding the charger... and I thought maybe the charger is different from the broken one. But i got it anyway since I was desperate. To my surprise, its literally the same charger like I used to have. It works just fine and I have no problem so far... So I am not sure why some users encountered various problems with the charger.

Not as bad as they say.

I bought this new charger after having accidentally broken my old T-shaped charger with worry in my mind based on the "overheating" reviews found here. I can I bought this new charger after having accidentally broken my old T-shaped charger with worry in my mind based on the "overheating" reviews found here. I can safely say that those reviews are scaremongering. The charger works without an issue, the MagSafe head does NOT overheat or burn you if it's touched. Cable management is far superior to the T-shaped MagSafe, plus you get a year warranty and peace of mind that the charger won't set fire to your house like some knock-off no-brand MagSafe's.

      Utter rubbish

I take great care of my laptop. I also take great care of the charging cable and always make a point of not wrapping it up when putting it away. Yet after less I take great care of my laptop. I also take great care of the charging cable and always make a point of not wrapping it up when putting it away. Yet after less than one year the cable is split and internal wiring is clearly visible. And now I have to spend £65 on a new identical poor quality charger. Sort it out Apple, I give you way too much money already.

Poor Quality with an extortionate price.

One star is too much. at £65 you expect some semblance of quality, but no once again I am replacing my charger the 4th one in as many years, my computer is not One star is too much. at £65 you expect some semblance of quality, but no once again I am replacing my charger the 4th one in as many years, my computer is not moved around it lives on a desk and is very well cared for but the wires still fray I've had this one held together with insulation tape as I didn't want to fork out yet another £65 but I am going to have to. This product needs a re design, I love my apple products and suffer serious brand loyalty and don't want to buy copy brands, but once my macbook dies I'm seriously considering moving on to another brand I am paying £65 a year just to charge my laptop. I always by from my local store and I've been in for a charger and they always give me the same "ah did the wire twist or fray." this is a constant problem and needs redesigning or making with a higher quality coating.
