Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air

  • Overview

The 45-Watt MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air features a magnetic DC connector that ensures your power cable will disconnect if it experiences undue strain, and helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light up; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adapter is the perfect travelling companion. It has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air with MagSafe Power Port.

      Very poor

After *just* over a year (of course) the charger no longer works. How can the extortionate cost of a new one be justified? Shame on you, Apple

It's actually quite dangerous how easily this breaks and had I been a bit less careless, I could've had a nasty shock. I will not be giving Apple the satisfaction of getting an extortionate replacement from them when there are far cheaper alternatives.

How can you justify yourselves, Apple?

I'm just about to purchase my THIRD cable in 5 years. I always thought £65 was a bit steep but lo and behold the price has increased to £79. And for what? I tre I'm just about to purchase my THIRD cable in 5 years. I always thought £65 was a bit steep but lo and behold the price has increased to £79. And for what? I treat my charger well - it stays in pretty much the same place. It is unplugged when not in use and I am careful with the wires But as if by magic it will stop working after about 18 months! Come on, Apple, we have obviously all purchased a macbook from you for (on average) £900. Do us a favour and make the accessories either better quality or cheaper. (preferably both) Be good to your customers!

Cable frays and then the cost of the replacement is exhorbitant

I am stunned that the replacement power adapter is so expensive given the poor quality of the item.

£79 is a joke for this poor accessory!

Even though careful with this cable, the plastic has split on the smaller cable and now it doesn't work. Came online to get a replacement and couldn't believe Even though careful with this cable, the plastic has split on the smaller cable and now it doesn't work.
