    No, you don't need to buy a new Wi-Fi router to use Apple TV. It works with any router that conforms to the 802.11a/b/g/n standard, even the old 802.11b and .11g routers.

    If you live in a densely-populated apartment or condo building, it's best to use a dual-band router that supports 802.11n. These newer routers have a wider range of channels they can use and are much more tolerant of the interference generated by nearby wireless networks.
