What is HDCP?

  • HDCP imposes network requirements on media sent to an AppleTV being on the same bridge. In addition, HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) requires HDCP compatibility for video playback between your Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) and high-definition display. Apple TV supports HDCP but all devices in the HDMI connection must also support this digital copy protection for successful video playback.
