Yes, as the Apple TV is an Apple IR product released after 2005. That also includes the G5 iMac's to current, most modern Macbook and Macbook Pros, G4 and Intel Mac Mini's and Apple iPod Docks.

  • Yes it will, as long as your old/lost remote isn't already paired to your aTV. If that's that case, you can un-pair it by pointing the new remote at the aTV receiver and pushing and holding left+menu on the remote for about six seconds. Your aTV will now be unpaired and you can pair it with a new remote by pushing and holding right+menu.

  • The remote is compatible with Apple products that have an infrared receiver. The Apple TV has an infrared receiver.

  • Actually, I just bought this new remote, and although the little yellow light on my 1st Gen AppleTV lights up each time I press a button on the remote, it does NOT, in fact, work. It works with my MacBook Air and my fiancee's MacBook, but does not appear compatible with my old Apple TV.

  • Quoted from item description (directly above these Q/As):
"Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver."

So yes, this will work with Apple TV

Furthermore, Apple TV can be programmed to recognize commands from virtually any infrared remote control

  • This new upgrade of the Apple Remote is compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver. Thus, it is compatible with every AppleTV to day (seeing how the AppleTV was introduced later than 2005 and has a built-in infrared receiver).

  • yes

  • just go under general, remotes click unpair remote and then point your new remote to aptv and your set.

  • Yes, as it uses infrared.

  • It works with any apple product released after 2005 with an infrared sensor, so yes, it will work with Apple TV,(I am also buying one for myne because ive misplaced the original one.)

  • Apple TV usually comes with a remote (the store i work at did) but this remote WILL work with Apple TV

  • Yes, It is backwards compatible with any Apple device with an IR port (introduced in 2005)

  • Yes, although I am unsure as to the support for the additional button. The Apple TV may require a software update for full support.

  • Yes

  • It should, It should be the same as the original, only changing visually.

  • Yes, this remote should work with your Apple TV. You will have to pair it, though.

  • Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

  • According to the overview:

"Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver."

Apple TV began shipping in March 2007, so yes. According to the Apple website, the Apple Remote will work with the Apple TV.

  • Yes. All models of the remote will work the Apple TV. You should have no problem, unless you have some type of infrared interference.

  • According to Apple's words on this product page it should:
"Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver."
