    Doesn't charge iPhone 6

    • Written by from Dunfermline

This used to work fine until a month or so ago and now I get the dreaded 'this accessory isn't supported' message. Shame, but a waste of money. Hard to understand how Apple can sell this but it isn't compatible.

    No complaints

I have used this charger for some time now and it does its job very well. First, it will work with any iPhone with a lightning connector. I dare say that most protective covers will present a problem when using a desk charger, but this little device does actually accommodate an iPhone 5/6 when fitted into Apple's own leather case. Secondly, it is well made and attractively designed. Upright chargers like this will inevitably be less stable than those docking horizontally, but mine has never toppled over, nor succumbed to the attentions of my inquisitive cat. It also takes up very little room and so can be placed pretty well anywhere.

    Same problem as others...

    • Written by from Teddington

These cannot be relied upon to charge an iPhone for two main reasons: a) the lightening connector won't fully engage if you are using any kind of protective case; and b) the phone ends up wobbling on its perch (part of the problem is that the perch the phone sits on is much smaller than the phone).

Any slight movement will make the phone flop a few degrees one way or the other and prevent the phone from charging. I took the case off the phone for a bit and was happy. At least, that is, until I managed to drop my phone...

    Poor design

    • Written by from Eastbourne

The small raised bit the phone sits on is not full width, this means the phone is not properly supported and thus wobbles from side to side. The same raised bit is too far forward meaning the phone only just touches the raised back of the stand, only just touching means the phone receives no support from the back whatsoever. The steep angle the phone sits at front to back means the unit is quite susceptible to toppling over. What possessed them to design something so badly I cannot see.

    Its iPhone 6 Compatible

    • Written by from Camberley

I was looking for a docking/sync station for my iPhone 6, Apples docking station not yet available.
Saw this and tried it out in store its fit was great!! It is adjustable back and forth to compensate for different iPhones and is open ended so width is not a problem. It will certainly be ideal for the 6 Plus but have not tested it as of yet.

Not compatible with official Apple iPhone 5S case

    • Written by from Dublin 1

I bought this item because of the advertised "compatible with most iPhone 5 cases"..."you don't have to remove the case" and then found that it will not work with my official Apple iPhone 5S case attached.

    Rubbish with a case

    • Written by from Hobro

The product description claims that the dock will function even the phone is in a case. My iPhone5 with the original iphone5S case does not function in this stand. I have to remove the case before plugging it in. So I am not please with the result.

Very happy with this good-looking charger

    • Written by from NEWBURY

It is a desktop lightning charger, is well styled, elegant and functions perfectly. I use it for an iPhone5 and a 5th generation iPod touch. The iPod has a after-market transparent back shell and fits into the dock just fine.

Some reviewers have reported that the charger does not work. The lightning connector is designed to latch in place, and so the iPhone needs to be firmly seated on the lightning connector. I found that it took a lot more force that I expected, and I was worried about damaging the connector at first. However, I quickly got used to it, and it is now a reassuring connection.

Some other points to know before purchasing:
    - There is absolutely no way that you can remove the iPhone from the dock without holding the base unit. This is because of the latching effect of the lightning connector.
    - The dock is the same width as an iPhone and you will not get a headphone jack plugged in whilst charging. I've not experimented with a 90degree adaptor; this may fit.
    - Lastly, the lightning connector can rotate forwards and backwards, and you will want to adjust its position so that your iPhone rests on the backrest.

cheap design, not sterdy and phone feels like its going to fall off, and the lightening connect feels as if it could be easily break off inside the phone.

It look good in the box, BUT! is not very steady as it just sit in a 30 pin connector modified as a lighting, cheap and non reliable way to sit the phone, then and the worst is when you plug your phone it doesn't connect you need to make 3 or 4 attempts to get the charging signal which after couple of minutes goes not connected, twice I rely to be connected and charging so alarm will work but I wake an hour after i need because phone wasn't charge and completely out of battery, i will return it!!!!!

    Great Dock but not perfect

    • Written by from Livingston

The dock itself is very well built with a decent weight but beware that if like me you use headphones while at work and wish to plug your Iphone 5 into the dock YOU CANT.

That Apple chose to put the jack on the bottom this time around is a pain in my opinion but if you do so at least get the accessories to be able to cope with this new design.

When I get home I will take a drill to the black plastic part and make room for the jack on my Bose headphones; should be easy enough.

    Excellent dock and color

Been looking for another lightening cable to charge my iPhone for a while (after nearly losing the one that came in the box) so decided to purchase the Belkin Lightening Dock adn Sync.

At first I wasn't sure about the aluminium finish (looking for black to competent my phone) but setting it up next to my MacBook Pro I understand why Belkin went for the neutral grey.

I now see my iPhones screen from across the room and my desk looks more organised

Now, having been very disappointed with the version that needs a lightning cable attached, this one is really nice. The problem with the former is that the cable pulls through when you take your item off. This is so good I am ordering another so that ipod and iphone have one each!

    Be warned

    • Written by from pinner

Early days but so far unit has performed as expected. It appears to be well made and looks smart. My only gripe was its main selling point, that it can be used in conjunction with "most" cases. I,ve tried 3 cases to date including one of Belkin's own without success. If this attribute is the main reason you are considering purchasing make sure you try before you buy!
