Do NOT buy the NetaAtmo weather station

    • Written by from Guildford

Firstly the description and packaging is misleading, as others have noted. It does not measure outdoor air quality, only temperatures and humidity, the rest it gathers from from the web, IF there is a nearby weatger report, which in my case there isn't.

Secondly, 4 months out of warranty it has stopped, or rather only intemittently records any measurements at all. The Helpdesk has tried to help and given lots of excuses about routers and IP addresses, but can't fix the problem and have refused to replace it. All it now does is to tell me what the weather was yesterday !!! I have fixed IP addresses, opened ports, etc etc. per Heldesk instructions but nothing works.

It works (or rather, doesn't) by the base station recording data every 5 minutes or so. It the stores the data locally and uploads the data to the Netatmo cloud every 15 minutes or so. If it can't connect, it saves the data until it can connect with the router and cloud. The App simply then views the cloud data. 1 star because I wasn't able to give it zero.

    What to do?

    • Written by from Aalborg

From today (december 22-2013) at CET 12:15 the station does not provide any data, and its only a few days old. I'm deeply disappointed about the quality. Torben

    Good Product

    • Written by from Ronse

Bought this weatherstation a month ago. It does exactly what it promises.
The indications of storms and increase in CO2 are surprisingly accurate. I compared the CO2 measurement to a professionel device from a friend and the readings were almost identical.
Only minor perhaps is that the information regarding air quality for the outside module comes from a website. How accurate these readings are is not entirely certain. But the temperature and moist readings are definitely correct.
All in all, I am very pleased with this product and the fact I can monitor it from any device.

Great gadget but not without problems

    • Written by from Fredericia

Very good looking units, easy to set up and fun to use. Nice app. Sadly the humidity readings seem to be way too high which is unacceptable for for a weather station at this price, but most of all renders it useless when you can't trust the readings. Hopefully they will offer replacement units if/once they fix it.

    Definitely a must have !

Very nice weather station that works well with my iPhone and my iPad.
In addition to indoor and outdoor usual stuff (temp, humidity, etc.) you get CO2, pollution and weather forecast.
Delivery was quick and installation very easy.
I'm going to offer it to some friends.

    Works as advertised

    • Written by from London

I can honestly say that I check my personal weather with Netatmo multiple times a day from multiple locations (work, phone, tablet, home computer). What I find really interesting is the trending stats that are starting to accumulate. I can see this being a very handy tool for weather prediction/comparison as the months and years go by.

The Netatmo station has worked seamlessly since the original install. I haven't had to change the batteries or play around with my home wireless network, this thing just works. I'm very pleased with it.

Stay weather-connected : a stylish and easy to use weather station !

    • Written by from London

    Just received my Netatmo stations.
Very straightforward set up; worked perfectly well.
Slick apple-ish trendy design...looks fab anywhere.
Excellent hook up to my ipad. Superb and very readable dashboard to check on your weather-related data quickly.
Gives you instant control over your home atmosphere...very cool !
Full coverage of living environment ... the station even displays a sound meter.
Indoor air quality real time monitoring is a plus plus. Keep the family away from carbon dioxide. Really worth it.
Will use outdoor kit to check weather inputs for my gardening; should help improve.

The Netatmo station looks nice, and I find it interesting to have graphs of outdoors temperatures, and a good thing to get accurate numbers of indoor CO2 levels under various conditions and settings (of doors and windows etc).

I may wish it was more specific in the reporting about which specific factors make the indoor air less than desireable, or tell more than one of the outdoor pollutants.

The iPhone and iPad apps are beautiful. (Though the text is a bit small on the iPhone for us with middle-aged eyes. This applies to the October 2012 version, they seem good at upgrading.)
It's a great idea that you can compress the graphs in time just by pinching them. See more time at once.

    Looks good but doesn't work

    • Written by from Perth

At first glance I thought this would be a great gadget for me and it was very easy to set up.

I began to worry when it was showing the indoor CO2 levels in my home/office at 5000ppm. Tried it elsewhere in the house and it was showing very high readings and sent me into paranoid mode. Googling articles on high CO2 levels and blaming the house for every headache I've ever had.
In the end I spent £300 on a professional CO2 measuring device and discovered that my office levels are actually around 700ppm as is the rest of the house which is what I should expect living in the countryside.
Bottom line is I wasted £140 on the weather station and another £300 for piece of mind !!!

    Great bit of kit!

    • Written by from Fleet

I was so unsure about buying this, but I have to say I am glad I did!

I was shocked to find the external sensor must be kept out of the rain, but it makes sense really in the same way you keep it out of the sun, to keep the readings accurate.

Easy to setup, fun to analyse the data and combine with my Owl Intuition I can set my heating to match the weather conditions from anywhere in the world.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Does not measure outdoor air quality

    • Written by from Lewes

This device, contrary to the description, does not measure outdoor air quality. The app gets its outdoor air quality alerts from other Internet sources.

Indoor air quality is measured, as described, by CO2 levels only.

    Great product!

I bought this last year when it first launched and I must say that I'm glad it's proved to be a really great product because this is the only weather station Apple user can really buy at the moment... All I can say that it's been very accurate, easy to use, good looking and reliable device ! If you're in a market for a smart weather station, look no further!
