no more scrolling with the wheel . this is so much better than the mighty mouse which i had trouble with scrolling down on web pages , etc . even after i had cleaned it so many times . easy to set up as long as you don't forget to install the new software and just soooo beautiful. Excellent Product

I have just purchased the Magic Mouse and have found it to be a great companion for my MacBook Pro 17"

I previously had the Mighty Mouse which was good, but on a different league to the Magic Mouse.

I absolutely love the look and feel, and the navigation around the MacBook is so much easier.

    Another great product Apple!!

Excellent piece of kit, a must have mouse.
Feels great in the hand and the gestures brilliant.
I am sure Apple will add more gestures later.

I have had this mouse about 1 week now and find it a pleasure to use.

    The laser pointer is accurate.

The mouse glides well over most surfaces and the clicks are positive.

The touch surface works well making scrolling through web pages a dream. Actually, browsing the net is amazing using this mouse. The momentum scrolling is as brilliant as it is on the iPhone.

I think the pinch and rotate gesture MUST come to this mouse as they will work perfectly and add so much to this already intuitive design.

I was a little concerned by the low design of the mouse, from reading reviews etc but up to now I have not found it a major problem. I would say I have medium size hands!

I use this mouse at work with Final Cut Pro and After Effetcs and find its great for scrolling through timelines and very accurate editing.

At home its great for web browsing and iTunes use.

    Splendid job all round.

    A Great Work in Progress!

    • Written by from Glasgow

This mouse is a great concept and, for what it sets out to be, it works perfectly! Obviously, it partially incorporates many of the MacBook Pro features with its multi-touch trackpad, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it has no Expose function. It is in some sense understandable why it does not, because it would need to be quite a bit larger to accommodate the four finger gesture. Personally, I am very pleased with the Magic Mouse and look forward this type of technology improving and expanding. It may be an idea to advance the multitouch technology to a bluetooth glass track pad that would sit on your desktop next to the keyboard, doing away with a mouse altogether. To me that would be ideal, as my work flow is so much better using the multitouch track pad of my MacBook Pro than with an ordinary track pad or mouse.

Wow! just an amazing piece of kit from Apple. You need one of these in your life - without question. So far ahead of any other product ive seen. Took a bit of finding update software, but once that was installed set up was easy. I need a case and I need to know if it will pair automatically.....loving your work Apple.

Simply excellent. Another reviewer bemoaned the loss of expose, but I simply turned on one of the active corners to expose. Glides easily on most surfaces, nice to hold and feels very light despite holding 2 x AA batteries. Scrolling is much better than Mighty Mouse - I used to find that the scroll ball got clogged and wouldn't scroll and right clicking could be a bit hit and miss, but with the Magic Mouse it's perfect. Another winner!

Absolutely Brilliant, My Mighty Mouse Is Now Redundant

    • Written by from Cheltenham

Received my Magic Mouse 3 days ago & cannot praise it enough. Looks great, it's easy to use, really is a vast improvement over the Mighty Mouse. The scroll function is a joy to use as is the two-finger swipe, excellent when using Safari can swipe to previous web pages. The left & right clicks are so precise, unlike my old Mighty Mouse & plus no more scroll ball to get clogged up with dirt & dust.
Yes the dashboard & ex-pose buttons are missing, but I never used ex-pose so that doesn't effect me & dashboard is on the keyboard or in the dock. Has taken Apple a long time to bring out a new mouse, but the wait has been worth it. Definitely won't be going back to the Mighty Mouse.

    Accurate, fast, elegant

The unboxing was pleasing but I had a small amount of trouble doing the swap over between an existing wireless Mighty Mouse and the new Magic Mouse on an existing 24" iMac.

The trick is to NOT switch off the old mouse until the connection with the new one has been established. The new software is not available to download until the Mac sees the new connected mouse.

The low profile seems deliberate in order to allow the scrolling facilities without too much finger movement and personally I love it. The mouse even gives usable results on a glass table and on other surfaces is stunning.

I have found that I needed to change the tracking and scrolling to maximum in system preferences, though once done it worked perfectly for me. I also enabled secondary click as a right mouse button.

I never did like the expose buttons on the old mighty mouse as I would often end up accidentally actuating the facility accidentally whilst I was trying to drag content around. It became so irritating that I eventually turned the feature off and for me there is zero loss of this function.

To summarise then, I find the device outstanding, it's accurate, fast and elegant and I will be purchasing a second to replace the wireless mighty mouse that I use when video editing on my MacBook Pro.

    Love It!

    • Written by from Edinburgh

Just received my new Magic Mouse and I love it. Having been a Mighty Mouse user this updated mouse knocks the socks off it's predecessor for the scrolling alone. I don't agree with the 'too flat' comments and found it very easy to get along with from the start (I have big hands).

Only downside is the price but that's usually the case with Apple gear.

    A thing of beauty

    • Written by from GUILDFORD

It seems a bit sad to be raving about something as commonplace as a mouse. But, I've been using it for three days now and I love it. I find it comfortable to use and teh gestures are becoming habit already. I'm sure there's more I'll want to do with it in the future and I hope more functions become available in software updates, but for now I'm revelling in its sleekness in form and function.

    No problem

    • Written by from Canterbury

I am not sure what the problem is in respect of the mouse not allowing Expose or Dashboard to be accessed directly from the mouse. I am very right handed but my left hand is perfectly able to press the relevant keys on my keyboard, quickly and easily, while the right engages with the mouse. You can modify the key functions if you need to via System Preferences.
I agree about the shape, the old more rounded wireless mouse allows the hand/fingers to stay in a relaxed position while the flatter Magic Mouse leads to tiredness and cramping after a while.
It should be looked at seriously.
    Otherwise, just brilliant.
