Not a Bad Bit of Kit

    • Written by from Tullamore

Got this about 2 months ago and am very pleased with it. Its small sleek design is very nice to look at and typing on the keyboard is a pleasure requiring the lease amount of effort when compared to other bog standard keyboards you get with some PC Keyboards.

I have the Wired keyboard and the Wireless keyboard (one for office and one for home). When compared against one another the keys on the Wireless are a little more stiff but not to the point that it is annoying. The Wireless does not come with a USB hub like the Wired but to be honest I never really use it so I don't really miss it. It doesn't come with a Num pad either but again I never really use it when I have it.

Since I have had it I have not needed to change the batteries, this is probable due to the power down feature on the keyboard when your not using it, but it only takes a second to wake up when you press a key. I would consider myself a "Power User" and use my computer all day every day and was quite surprised I didn't have to change the batteries yet.

If you need an Apple keyboard get this one, you won't miss the USB Hub, the batteries in it last for ages. It's quite neat and tidy so if you stuck for space on your desk this is the best option.

This keyboard is hands down, the best ever keyboard i've used to date.

The following things is what makes this product special/unique:
    - AMAZING battery life (I would consider myself a 'heavy' users i.e. 12 hours a day
    - Stylish
    - Small
    - Keys are very friendly to type on
    - Easy installation

Just bought this keyboard for my iPad 2 to help with my school work and I have to say that it is brilliant, very easy to use and a fantastic manageable size. The bluetooth connection has an excellent range and makes doing work on the move a lot easier.

I would recommend this to anyone thinking of buying this product.

I bought the new imac with the magic mouse and the wireless keyboard when I bought this about June time and it's the best thing that I have ever bought. Nothing has gone wrong with any of the equipment either the screen, mouse or the wireless keyboard.

Recommended this to all the people that live in my house as we are now known as the apple family as we all have at least one of every apple product that they do. Apple is the way forward for any computer device or even phone I can promise I would never buy any other product apart from apple in the many many years to come

    Long Live APPLE.

    Beware the critics

    • Written by from MORETON-IN-MARSH

Clearly one or two people do not like this keyboard and that is their right and privilege. I have two of them and am about to buy a third. Why?

I have been working with them for two years now and yes it took a bit of time to get used to the compact nature of the keyboard, and yes I therefore made lots of typos in the early days.

What I appreciate is the speed of response, the very good tactile feel, the fact that it does not dominate my desk and even the fact that it is very easy to keep clean. Is it worth twice as much as the wired alternative (which is just as good to use)? Well that depends on how much you like wired over wireless and the need to buy batteries or not.

In my humble opinion this is one of the most pleasant keyboards that I have used in a 30 year "keyboard career" and in the bad old "PC days" I used to spend small fortunes on keyboards.

If you want lots of pretty function buttons that you will never use but like to think might be useful some day, this is NOT the keyboard for you.

Although I think this is a really good product, why oh why do Apple not do an Extended Wireless Keyboard, the numeric pad and arrow keys are greatly missed. Come on Apple, bring one out ....... please.

    Improvements needed

    • Written by from Loondon

First of all I really love this keyboard. Been using it for over a year without issue. There is one thing Apple could add to it to make it an ultimate keyboard - backlit keys! Make it rechargeable like a PS3 joy pad Apple! And with lit keys this thing becomes ideal for night/low light work and media center setups.

    Great for finger typing...

    • Written by from Datchet

I have to say, this keyboard is great. The only reason I am writing this review is because I love typing on my keyboard so much and I'm running out of people to write messages on their Facebook wall so I thought I would do something different. The key's seem to be made in a squarish shape apart from the odd spacebar and shift buttons. I especially like the wireless feature I discovered it had after ranting on the phone to Apple Support because I thought they had forgotten to put the cable in the box. I also like the way the Caps Lock button has a green light on it when active. This keyboard makes me feel more clever than I am and I find myself talking with a posh accent while I type. The only thing I can't seem to find is the # button which makes it difficult when I tweet the cast of "East Enders" and "Cash in the Attic". I have to google the word then copy and paste it which is annoying because Im sure I've missed out on a few free give-a-ways. I wanted to see how good the blue teeth are on this thing so I put my iMac in my kitchen facing outwards and I walked away from it while typing the only joke I know. I got about 20 steps away from the front drive when I realised I was in the middle of the road and my neighbour who is a nosy "so and so" was starring at me out of the window. At first I thought she was doing this because I had been trying all the ringtones on my iPhone all morning to see which one I would get bored with first, but then I worked out it was more than likely because I was still wearing her cardigan I took off her washing line a week earlier after a game of drunken scrabble got out of hand. Right then, that's my review done. It's 2am and I need to start putting some nails in the wall so I can hang my metronome collection.

    Excellent purchase!

I am delighted with this little wireless keyboard. Simple set up of your Bluetooth on your iPad to connect the two together and off you go! The keyboard is extremely lightweight and easy to store for travelling. A perfect purchase for myself who does a lot of typing on my iPad and have found it a lot easier to erase spelling mistakes which I do a lot just typing on the touch screen keyboard.

Just taken delivery of the wireless keyboard and using it for iPad 2 - so impressed, looks gorgeous and was using it in less than 20 seconds after taking it out of the packaging. I normally use my iPad for apps and surfing the internet but the keyboard is going to add another dimension to it - using the on-screen keyboard can be uncomfortable for more than a few sentences and awkward if tilted up on a stand. Now I can sit at my desk and use it as I would a laptop. Expensive but worth it.

    Brilliant keyboard

    • Written by from Warrington

I bought this keybord to use with my Ipad 2 as the on-screen keyboard gets a bit annoying when typing longer documents. The design is great and the size makes it easy to take anywhere, the only thing i would like to see is more functuality with the ipad such as page scroll, however this is a great product overall!

Just bought this to go with the iPad. Perfect for a lazy approach to typing (iPad in sleeve on coffee table, keyboard on lap on the sofa). Well made and stylish, I'd like to see a travel case for it.

I have been trying to turn my ipad into a mini desktop replacement. An airprint printer and this keyboard have done very well. it is so much better than my old plastic form keyboard. I can type in comfort with great speed and hit the keys as hard as i want (normally very hard when im typing fast), and it doesnt hurt at all, unlike my old one. nice unobtrusive sleek design. havent had it long enough to say about the battery life but it is a lot more comfortable than my old one and i make almost no mistakes when typing at speed. extremely good quality. ine of the most amazing parts gas nothing to do with typing. the indicator light looks like its made out of solid aluminium. its only when i look very hard that i can see a series of marks for the light. best keyboard i have ever used!

    Great Keyboard

    • Written by from Doncaster

I was unsure whether to buy a keyboard for my iPad especially having seen people selling them on ebay because they had bought one, and then hardly used them. I considered buying a cheaper version but then decided to buy Apple's keyboard. Although it is quite expensive, I can't fault this keyboard at all. It is very responsive and easy to use. It is very comfortable to use and I really like the style of it. Overall do I think its worth £57? Yes I do. Very pleased with my purchase. I have used this nearly every day since buying this 6 months ago and still using the original batteries. Well done Apple. Great product and works very well with my ipad.

    Superb for intended use

    • Written by from Douglas

Contrary to the impression given by some reviews this keyboard has full-size keys with standard pitch. It is just that everything extraneous that could be left off, given current technology, has been. It is basically Apple's Macbook keyboard in a minimalist housing. If you cannot use this keyboard productively then you must have a very different typing style to me.

The short-stroke keys did feel strange at first and need a light touch. For touch-typing I am now convinced this is the best solution and I find that the design imposes less strain than typical membrane keyboards and with no loss of typing speed. My previous favourite Microsoft ergonomic keyboard now feels spongy and hard work in comparison.

Why use a wireless keyboard at all? To reduce desk clutter and for use away from the workstation for presentations or when driving something like Logic are the 2 reasons that appeal to me. This minimalist design meets this requirement perfectly as it is small and light enough to balance on my lap or my music stand far more easily than my older, full-size "plastic tray" wireless equivalent. It is also small enough to take on the road in a typical laptop rucksack which might make sense for use with an iPad.

I have yet to get through my first set of batteries but I suspect power management is far better than on the previous model.

For some applications and tasks a numeric keypad can be useful so I will not be throwing away my wired full-size model. For everyday tasks this is perfectly adequate as proven by Macbook users.

I would rate it at 4 stars as a standard keyboard (a numeric keypad can be useful and I suppose the dedicated Delete key will appeal to hunt-and-peck typists) but definitely 5 for what I perceive to be its intended applications. The final deciding point for my purchase is that it can by used with the iPad and I don't think we will be able to resist buying one of those once they are available in the UK.

    I still like it!

    • Written by from DEAL

I purchased my wireless keyboard when they first came out and found it to be just perfect until now ... the letters are wearing off the keyboard! The i has completely disappeared; the a,s,e,d and h are fading fast. I can cope with this as I am a touch typist who learned to type on a typewriter with the keys covered but it does rather spoil the look. Has anyone else had this problem?

As for no delete key - just highlight whatever you need to delete and hit the back space key and voila it's deleted!
