    ipad 2 camera connection kit

    • Written by from Battle

Read the reviews and although some weren't good thought I would take a chance as the kit seemed to be exactly what I needed. It arrived quickly and works like a dream. I used it with my SD card from my Canon SLR and I would recommend it, I think it is compact and does what it says it does, its perfect if you travel a lot. I would give it 5 stars more if it were possible.

    Works like a charm

    • Written by from Palmerstown

At first I was quite reluctant to buy this kit. I heard rumors that it will not work with iPad 2 after I upgrade to iOS5 and that it only imports lower quality jpegs or that it doesn't work with SanDisk SD cards. All of this is a big lie!

My CCK works with iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1 no problem. And I only use SanDisk Extreme class 10 cards. And I just confirmed that it really imports unaltered RAW files as taken by my DSLR.

It's a very handy piece of kit for any photographer with the iPad at hand. It's a fast and very effective way to show off your work. People love to see their pictures right after you take them and the iPad with CCK is a great way to do just that!

    Works perfectly!

    • Written by from Southend on sea

Got this today and it works perfectly. I have absolutely no idea why this has so many negative reviews!
I first tried my Sandisk SD card and it worked perfectly first time. Then I tried my Sony a SLR via USB and again, worked perfectly. Then my Canon Powershot SX 220 via USB, and again worked perfectly.
I'm not sure if previous problems have been caused by old iOS versions (my iPad 2 is running iOS 5.0.1), but I really don't understand the negative reviews.
This makes the iPad 2 perfect, so if you're considering buying it, go for it. I'm really very glad I did!!

Perfect, and it just works. Plug it in and up pops your photos ready to tap Import.

I'm running the latest version of iOS (5.0.1) and my SD card reader still works fine on my original iPad, so not sure why others are having problems.

Don't believe the 1 star reviews

Like every other apple product I have ever used, it works, as it says it does, straight out of the box. I have a Canon 7d. It works using usb, it works from a Sandisk SD in a CF adapter. It just works!

Does what it says on the tin .....

    • Written by from newport

This kit works with both my Nikon cameras - my D80 SLR and my S5100 compact. It also works flawlessly with my variety of Sandisk Extreme SD cards.
The only negative thing I can express is my disappointment at the attitude of the Apple Store employee in Birmingham's Bullring who was singularly uninterested in helping me when I asked about being able to try them in my iPad2 before buying them. I've read other reviews in here that suggested different Apple stores were much more helpful.

After reading reviews I was sceptical of purchasing this due to so many mixed responses, however I am thrilled with these little genius add ons for my iPad 2. They are unbelievably simple to use, my iPad instantly recognised the product and loaded automatically and I was delighted with how fast it uploaded my photos to my iPad. It also gives you the option to erase the images from the SD card once your upload has been completed! Love these two products, could not be happier with them, and was more than happy to pay £25 for them. Happy customer!

    Card reader not working ?

    • Written by from Spalding

Purchased the card reader 1week ago worked fine first time, very impressed but second time I tried it,it wouldn't work, read reviews about all the problems people were having so thought I had bought a useless piece of rubbish.Took it back to HMV(who were very helpful)and tried about 10 more card readers all of which didn't work. Then took iPad to John Lewis where it was purchased from, they tested card reader on demo unit which worked fine so they diagnosed a faulty iPad.They swapped my iPad for a new one and hey presto everything works a treat!
    a brilliant piece of kit

Works for Canon G12 & SanDisk SD cards

    • Written by from Portsmouth

After reading all 87 reviews I decided to purchase this from a store, where I could try out both of the connectors before buying (much to the amusement of the staff in the Currys / PCWorld store).

I’ve a Canon Powershot G12 and use SanDisk memory cards (1Gb); iPad2 is running 4.3.5.

Both connectors worked first time; the transfer speed from the SD card was very quick, and only slightly slower using the cable. Hope they continue to work so well.

Despite the various adverse reviews, I can assure you that, with an iPad2 and a SDHC card from a Canon S95 it works brilliantly (as advertised).

    Easy to use with IPad2

    • Written by from Gloucester

Excellent. Arrived the next day, beautifully engineered, worked with Samsung camera and will take photographs off a Sony HD video camera. Didn't recognise the Sony videos but I was expecting that. You'll need some software to edit the photos once their on the IPad2 and I used PS Express.

Why aren't the plastic covers supplied with all connectors?

    Works just fine for me

    • Written by from Aberdeen

Transfers pictures taken from canon IXUS 980 IS no problem at all, 16 GB sdhc.
Also transfers pictures and hd videos, which was an unexpected bonus, from liquid image scuba mask camera, 16 GB micro sdhc with adapter.
Does not have sufficient power to drive the cameras so card removed and card adapter rather than USB adapter used.
Does not recognise the avchd videos taken from panasonic hdc sd90. Not a format the iPad 2 currently seems to recognise.
The transfer is easy and the software fires up immediately when the card and connector are attached to the iPad 2.

Both the USB and SD adapter work well with my Nikon D3100.
I was concerened after a few reviews said that they were having problems, shame they never stated what camera they were using.
So no problems importing photos direct from camera, or the SDCH card (TDK 8GB), then sending them on from there to e mail or other sites.
One reason for getting the iPad 2 was so I could take it on my travels and upload photos.
    Very pleased.

    Far exceeded my expectations

    • Written by from Burton Upon Trent

I bought this for my mother for her new ipad 2, I knew it would it work no problem with the SD card. But what surprised me was how quickly it down loaded the many photos stored on my father's camera SD card. I had read the reviews on here earlier, so when I bought my ipad 2, I didn't bother buying this connection kit. So when I tried my mother's USB connection kit piece and connected with a lead directly to my Canon 5D Mark 2 where I shoot RAW and Jpeg together with each photo, which can easily be 30 MB between them. I was gobsmacked how quickly these 30 MB photos down loaded. Now I'm glad I went for the 64GB ipad version, which will be great for holidays, instead of taking the laptop for my photo storage. Especially nowadays with the limited luggage allowance on the aircraft. That's why I here buying mine ipad camera connection kit today!
