    Disappointed...

I got this mainly for video. Connecting, it was fine for photos, so no issues there, but the video end of things has been very frustrating. I tried .mov files, and nothing came up, I just could not see anything in the import bit, and then tried MP4 and still nothing came up. I'd previously tried other formats but none of them worked. So what's the solution then? I have videos on various formats but none of them get recognised when I use the kit. I can't recommend it because it hasn't worked for me although other people don't seem to have the same problem.

At a loss with camera connection kit

I'm at a loss, none of the camera connection kits are working on my iPad mini and I don't understand why. When I plug the connection kit into my iPad mini a message pops up saying
"this cable or accessory is not certified and my not work reliably with this IPad"
Can I fix this, if I can how? If I can't can someone please give me advice on what to do?
    Software version is iOS 8.4
    Thank you.

    Minimal functionality.

OK - you can load pics from SD cards from (certain) cameras. End of story. Thought I would be able to use it to import pics from my PC, via the SD card. No way. Appears not to read the photo files direct, but only via the index used by a camera. Similatly, won't read a USB stick with pics on it. And the SD card mounted in a USB card carrier yields "too much power". WHY do Apple take so much trouble to make life difficult?

    Dont even think about buying....

What an utter waste of money!

My Pro SLR doesnt use SD cards. Ok fair enough, that was obvious, but no USB reader, even independantly powered ones read in the device. So it cannot be used. What good is that? just comes up with a message saying the device uses too much power. What?

Add to that the fact that the USB reader is only for photographic files and nothing else and Apple have just boosted their profit level again.

I am a big Apple user, but am becoming disillusioned with their products and attitude.

One star is too great a credit for this derisory product.

    No longer works

I used this to copy photos from my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2 while on holiday & it worked great. I've now upgraded to an iPhone 5 & a new iPad (ie 3rd Gen) and all I get is a "accessory not supported" message when I connect it to my iPad.

    *sigh*

    Big Let down

Got this to go through camera photos while on holiday and sort them on the card , ie delete them from the card , but you have to copy them to the I pad before you can do any thing to them , does not help when you have a 32gb camera card and only a 16 gb iPad with 2gb free space
. I just wish you could view photos from card and delete the dodgy ones with out copying them to the I pad . And a shame you can't copy/ move them back from the iPad to the card :-(

    Tempremental

I have found the camera kit very unreliable. It connected perfectly to my ipad then became tempremental. Now it no longer works and tells me It takes too much power. I cannot find a fix for this any where. Come on Apple get your act in gear as I love it when it works........

    Junk

I spent £25 for a piece of equipment that is not at all useful. It cannot see photographs from my Samsung pixon 12 phone which has a really good camera better than my Nikon, unlike the Airstash I got after this. Not engineered for general convenience. It's just a piece of plastic to me, and nobody I know wants it either when I tried to give it away. Don't waste your money.

    iPad camera adapter

I love my apple products owning iMac, mac air and iPad 2 not to mention iPhone and numerous iPods. However the camera adapter for the iPad is verging on the illegal. It's not fit for purpose, it would appear from what I can gather the latest update has reduced the current available via the dock from 100 to just 20 milli amps. Which basically means it won't work with the majority of cameras. The only alternative is to use the SD card reader.

Apple card reader for IPad 2

I received my I pad as a present for my birthday in January 2012. I purchased the apple IPad connection kit today. My IPad knows it is an Apple kit, but there is no way I can get it to load from an SD card. The USB connection slot will not load either.

I am getting error messages to state that there is not enough memory. My SD card holds 3 photos amounting to less than 1mg. To say I am confused and disappointed is putting it mildly

I contacted Apple but they didn't know why and advised I should take to an Apple store. The nearest store is over 50 miles away. They did say the connection device will not work with Sony. But I tried to load pictures taken by my phone, which is a Samson. I read some of the comments and it seems there is a problem with the memory on IPad 2'. However the Jury is out and I am open to suggestions. If it will not work I will give the kit to my son who has an IPad 1.

If I can find an answer to the problem, if somehow it is my fault, then I shall write another review and upgrade the rating. I gave it 1 star because the IPad did recognise the connection. If, there is a problem with latest upgrades to IPad 2 then, hopefully Apple will sort it out. However, I must give the IPad full marks for an outstanding piece of equipment, which has given me hours of very interesting pleasure.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Does not work

I have a first gen. iPad with latest OS (as of Feb. 2012). USB adapter did not work with Nikon D200 or Canon SD880 and SD adapter did not work with a 16GB Sandisk Ultra. Also both adapters didn't feel very securely connected to the iPad - had a "third party" feel.

    Camera Connection Kit

The USB connector will connect some cameras (but not a Canon EOS) to an Ipad2 but the SD card connector does not work at all. The I-store in Glasgow confirmed this is an operating system fault and "hoped" it might be resolved in a future update of the operating system

    From Good to Bad!

We purchased the connection kit specifically to be able to upload photos from our camera whilst on our annual skiing trip. Initially the kit worked well, in fact it was seamless transfer. However, prior to setting of on our hols I synchonised the Ipad 2, whereby an upate must have been delivered, rendering the kit useless. As per the other reviews, this needs a fix from Apple.

Doesn't connect to my Canon SLR

    Rubbish really
Unfortunately zero stars are not an option
What more is there to say, other than it would be nice if apple published a list of compatable cameras

A 'connection kit' that does not connect

What looks like a perfect solution for loading photos onto the i-pad, turns out to be a huge disappointment. When you insert either the USB or SD adaptor, you receive the message that the i-pad does not recognise the device. Reading the other reviews you realise that this is one beautifully designed Apple product that does not work universally. Will there be a version that works for all devices or will Apple be offering a refund, who knows. Unfortunately I bought mine in the States so cannot take it back to the store.

    Terrible - Does not work

I bought this from Apple to load my photos onto my ipad but it does not work, Apple fail to tell you that it is not compatible with all cameras, what a waste of money. Very bad product from Apple, not happy at all.
