    Terrible

Like all the reviews on here I'm sick of buying ridiculously expensive cables that have a v short life span - shame on you Apple

    Worst Ever

Its inconceivable that the cheaper phone charger last longer than an Apple charger. This issue has dramatically increase my urge to stop using iPhones. I have changed chargers at least twice a year in the last 7years. unacceptable bearing in mind the cost.

cable and cable insert both unreliable

I had an Iphone 5 and an ipod 5 and the charging ports on both of these died after 1.5 years. the lighting cables themselves are also very unreliable and break continuously, the old 30 pin chargers are a million times more reliable, Apple should just do something similar to the micro USB as these are very simple and reliable, obviously Apple wants to be the monopoly so if they just make it a slightly different shape but the same principle, i will by a newer phone again, in the mean time I am using my Ipad 3 and have recently bought the iphone 4S which are the last apple products with the 30pin charger.
they could also get around this by doing wireless charging. something needs to be done as these are really bad PR for Apple and more should be done to handle the publics originations.

Bad cable design, come on Apple you can do better!

Like all the others, have been through so many lightning cables in just a year or two. Some smugly say you only have to be more careful when pulling them out and grip only the tiny plastic end, etc. I say, design the cable to handle real life!! Make the part you have to grab large enough to grab without a pair of tweezers, if that's the only way the cable will survive. It's ridiculous having to treat these cables as delicate instruments to get them to last a reasonable lifetime. The products being charged, I've found to be tough as nails and am very happy, but these over-sensitive cables are the Achilles Heel of the whole Apple product line.

It's inexcusable that the cables are not durable enough to survive outside a clean-room laboratory white-gloves environment. If any company would make a ruggedized version to stand up to real use/real life, they would have one heck of a blockbuster product -- I'll take a half-dozen and you can name your price, after all the money already burned on these "disposable" Apple cables!

    :-(

You NEED to start making stronger cables mine ripped in half yesterday after 5 months however the cables are great when in one piece.
Try making a cable wrapped in fabric or a cable with a metal exterior.

Look after your stuff, and your stuff looks after you!

Well I've had my iPhone 5s for nearly 3 years now and I'm still on my original cable that came in the box! I've had my iPad 2 for 4 years and again, still on the original charger and lead! Both leads might show some slight signs of wear but charges as it should! Pull the white plastic piece to unplug from the devices and they will last! Bit pricey from apple but I bet I've spent £20 on cheap ones over the 2 years for my misses' phone as she doesn't understand how to unplug the cable properly!!

    SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD

MY TWELVE YEAR OLD WOKE UP TO A SMOKE FILLED ROOM,
HER CHARGER WAS ON FIRE. although no serious damage was done it could have been a lot worse if she hadn't been awake. She woke at 3 am. I cannot say if we would even have had a house right now if she hadn't woke up. it derves no stars but that was not an option.

The reason to change to android

This is the only charger from all phone brands that can not last more than few months. Why why why and why? We pay a lot for a stupid phone, which will eventually change to a new version after a year and then face this ****? I was always a fan of Apple, but excuse me, I bought maybe 6 pf these charges already and I need a new one again! Cmon! Apple, please, if you changed those EarPods to wireless, do the same with your charger!!!!

I don't know what their going on about

I don't get what the big fuss is. Everyone in our family has an apple device they work perfectly fine the only problem is that we keep on losing ours because we can't look after things, the wires have been chewed to death by our 2 cats, still works. Honestly I don't know why people are saying bad things about this product

    Lightning Cables - Quality Issues

Lightning cables are of poor quality in my opinion. The connection into the phone deteriorates really quickly to the point of failure. You will see what looks like oxidation on the connection points, the charger will work intermittently, and then it will stop working altogether, all within a few months. This has happened on every single one I have owned, probably over a dozen individual cables. No water contact, no mistreatment.

Apple iPhone charger has stopped working again!!!!!!

Seriously this is my third charger cable this year... you need to sort it out Apple. The cable was working fine last night then I went to charge my phone today and nothing. I am starting to lose patience with Apple and their products and i have been a customer since the first iPod.

How to burn your house down

My cable worked great initially, then a connection must have come lose inside the casing and it would only work intermittently, and the phone kept vibrating through the night as the cable worked, then didn't, then did ... but most importantly, I was charging my phone in the bedroom one day and when I went upstairs to get I could smell really bad burning, and the cable was actually burning at the end nearest the device. Had I left it any longer, it could have set fire to something and burnt the house down. So so dangerous .... APPLE, PLEASE, YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE THESE CABLES.

    Best Charger Ever!!!!

This charger is so easy to use and extremely robust i love the way you can put it in both ways meaning that plugging your phone into charge in the dark is easy I own 3 lightning devices - an iPhone 7, aIpad Mini and an iPod touch and all of them work seamlessly with the different lightning cables I have a total of 25 lightning cables around the house and not one of them have ever broke good for traveling and 1'000'000 times better that the micro USB that Samsung uses as they keep breaking for me. The charger charges my iPhone 7 in 30minutes or less and i always have a lightning cable on me.

    The hunt

House full of apple products , we all steal each other's leads to try and find one that works . It's usually one that's about a month old any longer and your dreaming but what do you expect for £15 !!!!!!!!!!!! .
What a pile of garbage . I pity the people that will open their shiny presents at Christmas with this sub standard piece of equipment enclosed .

About time Apple designed a cable that works!

About to buy my son a 3rd cable! I've always been an Apple fan and we have a lot of their stuff but this is putting me off & thinking of buying something different when I upgrade in February. Fed up of being tied into monopoly - these should last more that a couple of months and Apple should care enough about customers to fix this problem.

If I knew how to score 0 stars I would.

    What happened to apple quality.

Both my wife and I have iPhone 5's, the phones are great but these cables are such rubbish. The originals both broke after less than a year and I've been using non-apple brands since. Now I am trying to install a backup onto my iPhone and can't. Reading around its possible to non-apple issue charging cable that is a problem. I am reluctant to buy another apple one though as I know it will probably be broke in a few months. Samsung is looking better all the time.

    No issues - always works.

I've been using these cables for years and years and I have never, never needed to buy any other apart from the one included in the package. Always good!
