    Good but not for all

I bought this to use as a connector for my phone to docking station. I have an iphone 7plus so it's sizeable and weighty. Whilst it worked in the station and music played fine and it charged, due to the weight of the phone it did not sit right and was quite slanted and looked like it could topple over at any stage! I've now returned for the connector with a lead. So if you have the plus size - get the other Lightning adapter with the lead - much more suitable!

    Adapter on a Ruarkaudio 4i

Moving from an older iPhone to iPhone5 has meant that I could not use the Ruarkaudio's dock. This lack became increasingly annoying therefore I looked into the options for connectivity using some sort of adapter. Obviously, I read the reviews posted here and was very worried about whether the Lightening adapter would work - it's rather expensive. I asked Ruark's advice service and was told the genuine Apple Lightening adapter worked fine, with the adapter-support available from Proporta. I can report that the four products, now mutually connectable, work in perfect harmony.

Very useful in transition from older to new style cable

I got this back when I first got a iPhone 5 moving on from older style, I still use the older style for my older Ipad 3g for useful at the start.

Less used now but still glad I had it was very handy.

Now have loads of the newer cables as they come with any new iPhones / iPads so don't find I use the older one as much.

Another badly thought through apple products

I got this with my new Apple iPhone and apple case all sold by the apple assistant in an apple shop only to find this is useless as you can't use it when the phone is in the apple case!! £25 down the drain. Don't buy if your phone is in a case.

    Apple rip-off

One would have thought that when Apple changed IPads to a lightning connection they would have designed an adaptor that allowed the IPads to function on existing audio docking stations. THEY DIDN'T!!!. And as a result I'm left with this over-priced useless adaptor. You Apple guys are getting a bad reputation as this isn't the first time this has happened.

ABSOLUTELY GREEDY AND SHAMEFUL - APPLE

Just bought the lightning to 30 pin adaptor cable to play music from my iPhone 6 through my Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin. Where the do I put my phone??? The cable is too short for the phone to rest at the side of my speaker. I knew it was short but not so short as to have to find a pile of books to put immediately next to the speaker for the phone to sit on! £35 for that! Apple are now becoming too greedy for my liking! They need a good kicking up the backside by Samsung. Jeez...its not as though my speaker is that old.
APPLE - sort yourselves out ...you've become too greedy and it will be your downfall if you don't stop it now!

    Fed Up

Bought my first one of these in February of last year. Within a few months it had stopped working. Got a replacement under warranty at the Apple Store. Now this second one has stopped working and I find myself needing to buy a new one. This level of unreliability isn't something I expect of Apple and I'll be making the staff aware of my unhappiness when I go and buy the replacement. It may not do any good but it might make me feel a little better.

If you have an AUDI Music Interface this one works

I lot of people moan about the cost of these.

I have found the cheap Ebay fake ones only last a couple of months before failing. This one is in my car and has still not failed after 2 years of use.

The reason it is expensive is because there in some A to D circuitry inside. I have an AUDI with the old style iPhone type lead attached to the stereo. This is the only adapt that will work with the stereo. All the fake ones do nothing. I don't know what other cars are like, but I was more than happy with the price when I found out it could be used in my car.

The fake ones are OK for charging and using in USB stereo inputs.

You've designed an official iPhone lightning adaptor

which isn't compatible with an official Apple iPhone case!

You never used to do things like this. This is really poor product integration and design, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for this oversight.

    Do not purchase

Brought this adapter to continue to use my docking station to listen to music from my 5s. The adapter worked for less than a month now only charges from the docking station and doesn't play music.
Very frustrating. I assumed because I was paying £25.00 for a simple piece of equipment it would work, having previously brought a cheaper verion from Amazon that doesn't work either.
    So disappointed.

Does not work with 30 pin VGA Adapter

I bought one of these (over priced) adapters for my iPad Mini with Retina display in order to use my existing 30pin VGA adapter to show keynote presentations via a projector. I specifically asked the sales person if it would work for Keynote and he told me it would - well it does not. I get a "this accessory is not supported on this iPad" message. So the alternative is a lightning to VGA adapter. £25? Er, no that will be £40 sir ....!!

Bought to use with my old style 30 pin camera adaptor. Does not work with my Canon 7D. Total waste of £25. Avoid

    What a rip off!

Poor show, Apple - after 20 years loyalty to your products, I was very disappointed when you decided to change the connection with the advent of iPhone 5, making it incompatible with my expensive Bose sound dock. Then you offer your customers this extremely poorly designed adaptor at a ridiculously high price. Stop taking us for granted.

Poorly designed and not compatible with all my devices

I have been an Apple addict since 2007 and currently our household uses; 1 x iPhone 4, 1 x iPhone 4s, 1 x iPhone5, 1 x iPod classic (top of the range), 1 x iPad mini, 1 x iPad 2.... so, when realising that all our docking stations and chargers throughout the house would need an adapter to work with the new iPhone 5 and the iPad mini, I decided to take the (expensive) step of spending £25 on this tiny adapter which is fairly unsuitable for purpose.
First point: to use the adapter, all devices cannot be in a case (no matter how slim) as the wide section butts up against the base of the device.
Secondly: to use in any of our docking stations you now need to plug the adaptor in and then precariously balance your precious devices and hope that it doesn't either fall off, get knocked off, or damage the connector inside...
Finally (and most frustrating): this doesn't work with my in-car connection cable from the glove box (which works fine with previous devices) as it does play music (hurrah!) but doesn't charge - which is not ideal on the long journeys I do.
Poor show from Apple - can't understand why this was not better thought out.

    SAY CLEAR OF THIS!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS AWFUL PRODUCT! I purchased this as my docking station that I bought when I had my iphone 4 no longer fit the new iphone five charger. I thought the price was overpriced but spend the money to save buying a new docking station. BAD IDEA! IT CHARGES MY PHONE BUT WONT PLAY MY MUSIC!! DO NOT BUY THIS!!

Don't buy if you use an Apple phone case!

Very disappointed. I bought an Apple leather phone case as many 5S buyers have, however the adaptor is too short to fit through the case and into the socket, so it is now absolutely useless for the phone whilst in its case.

I can't believe that Apple did not test this product with the case. The adaptor is a premium price and you expect better from Apple!

Expensive, doesn't work with covers, poor job apple....

Apart from this product being over 1000% more expensive than it should be, they haven't left extra room on the end for even the smallest of covers, it does work with audio but I had to sand off the top of the adapter to get it to fit my slim cover, what a bodge thanks for nothing apple..

So far works with all the 30 pin accessories I'd accumulated for my iPhone 4S. Price is daylight robbery though!

    Not For Me

Very expensive for such a small item. When I tried to use it with my new iPhone 5s (after removing its case), it would not fit into the socket for the Bose Docking Station. I had to remove the Bose surround on the docking station socket after which the Adapter fitted but the iPhone was very precarious and felt as if the connector would break very easily. It then only had limited playback functionality using the Bose remote. I have reverted to the Auxiliary Socket on the Docking Station which works better and so have returned the Adaptor.

    Poor design

IMO this is a poor design . It means the iphone now has to sit perched on this tiny insert while wobbling about in a cradle. And the price is a total rip off
