Almost certainly not unless you're running Windows on your MacBook Air. But if you are running a Almost certainly not unless you're running Windows on your MacBook Air. But if you are running a suitable version of Windows in a Boot Camp partition or in a virtual machine on the Air, you'll almost certainly be able to play a PC video game from the SuperDrive. I've run lots of PC software on Windows 8 running under VirtualBox on a MacBook Air. Game software should be fine, too (although many games don't run well in virtual machines, but fine in a Boot Camp partition).

There are several external Blu-Ray drives that work perfectly with OS X. Pioneer makes a couple as w There are several external Blu-Ray drives that work perfectly with OS X. Pioneer makes a couple as well as Lacie. All one needs is a drive and third-party software to watch your discs. My favorite player is Aurora Blu-Ray Player.

I suppose this information might no longer be relevant to the original poster but it might still be I suppose this information might no longer be relevant to the original poster but it might still be relevant for others. Essentially, yes, the superdrive will work on a windows 8 (or 7, or 8.1, or XP, etc...) pc on a powered USB port, just the same as it will work on a mac running bootcamp and windows 8. All you need to do is to the relevant install the drivers.
