Studio Wireless Over-Ear Headphones - Matte Black

  • Overview

    The music moves with you

With the Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Wireless over-ear headphones the music on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod can truly roam free. The Bluetooth stays connected up to 30 feet away so you easily move about and keep the music going. Take calls, skip songs, and change the volume right from the headphone.

    Feel your music

The Beats Acoustic Engine gives you an intimate, real encounter with your music. Thanks to Beats' signature DSP software delivers the exact emotional experience that Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, and some of the music industry's greatest rock, hip-hop, pop, electronic, and R&B producers want you to feel.

    Put the world on mute

Silence the noise from your daily commute or the drama from your loud neighbors with Beats' no-compromise dual-mode Adaptive Noise Canceling (ANC). When you're listening to music, ANC automatically strikes a balance between your audio and the world outside. And if you want to use the headphone just to cancel external noise, ANC-only mode automatically increases the level of noise cancellation to make things even quieter.

    What batteries?

The built-in rechargeable battery that lasts 12 hours when using wirelessly and 20 hours when you do decide to plug in—so you can be sure your vibe keeps going. With the Battery Fuel Gauge you can see at a glance how much juice is available. Plus, you can charge the new Studio via standard micro USB adapter almost anywhere.

    Lighter, stronger, and more comfortable

When Beats re-imagined these legendary headphones, they designed it like a beautiful sports car and made disciplined choices. They streamlined the new Beats Studio with fast curves, smooth surfaces, and no visible screws. It now weighs less than the original and has a lighter, stronger, and more comfortable headband. The ear cups are softer and there's an ergonomic bellow to create a flexible, custom fit for every head shape, so you can keep your music all to yourself.

      Impressed!

Disclaimer: I'm not a fan boy, I tried (& quickly returned) the original Beats Studio & Beats Executive as they were both garbage from an audio perspective. Disclaimer: I'm not a fan boy, I tried (& quickly returned) the original Beats Studio & Beats Executive as they were both garbage from an audio perspective. Sorry so called audiophiles - I tried B&W P7 & Sennheiser Momentum Over Ears but for my predominantly Hip Hop, R&B & Reggae library the Beats are clearly the superior audio option. They're far from neutral sounding, the bass is heavy but it's controlled & doesn't distort at high volume. The highs are bright while the mid range is surprisingly clear. Add to that the wireless function & the 12 - 20 hour rechargeable battery & it was an easy win. Picked mine up in store in the UK although strangely they're still not on the Apple UK online store?

The best headphones I've listened to. That includes B&W and Klipsch

These headphones are fantastic. They have a much more balance sound over the previous generation Studio model, but still pack a punch in the right places. T These headphones are fantastic. They have a much more balance sound over the previous generation Studio model, but still pack a punch in the right places. The 30 foot bluetooth range is great, as I never experienced a dropped connection or static as I moved 15-25 feet away from my iPhone 5s. I love the black matte finish. It's stylish and fashionable at the same time, yet subtle enough to wear in a corporate environment, if desired. They have a slimmer profile, are lighter and sleeker than the previous generation; thus, you won't feel uncomfortable wearing these as your main everyday headphones. These have replaced my B&W and Klipsch headphones. I'm a fan! Great purchase.

      Wonderful sound but ...

The Wireless Over-Ear Headphones are excellent headphones from the perspective of sound and comfort. The noise reduction capabilities of the headphones, in con The Wireless Over-Ear Headphones are excellent headphones from the perspective of sound and comfort. The noise reduction capabilities of the headphones, in conjunction with the over-ear style make for a remarkably quiet environment even when walking down a busy street. While my initial impression was that the bass was over-emphasized, when walking down the street the bass actually seems quite appropriate. When I was using this during the summer I would put on an audio book and listen to it while on a long walk. There was never a situation where I needed to turn up the volume in order to hear it over the noise of the traffic. Excellent sound. However, they seem to be fragile. Much more fragile than the Macbook that I am using to write this review. After 14 months of use (yes, 2 months after the warranty expired) the wireless portion of the headphones failed. I took them to the Apple Store and there was nothing they could do except to send it away. The cost of repair is essentially 2/3 the price of a new pair, with a new one year warranty. Instead of getting them fixed I chose to use them as a connected set of headphones. Fast forward one month and now that feature has failed. I can charge the battery, but I can't turn on the headphones. So, what does this mean? Well, for a $399 (CAD) pair of headphones I used them for about 400 hours in the course of the year. So the headphones cost me $1 per hour of usage. I'm sorry, but that cost, even for the quality of the headphones, is just too high. I would have expected them to last more than 400 hours. That is the reason for my rating of 3 stars. Five stars for the quality of the sound and the fit. One star for its ability to last and the cost per hour of usage. Would I buy them again? I'm not sure. There are competitors out there that offer two year warranties and sound almost as good for approximately the same price. It really comes down to whether I want to sacrifice a little quality for the piece of mind of a two year warranty.

DON'T BUY!!!! Not worth the price - My rating is less than 1 star!

I purchased my pair in JUNE 2015. Since them, Apple has replaced 4 pairs and my 5th pair just broke down in less than 3 weeks of use. (I only use them 2 hours I purchased my pair in JUNE 2015. Since them, Apple has replaced 4 pairs and my 5th pair just broke down in less than 3 weeks of use. (I only use them 2 hours a day in the gym) With this pair, I am unable to turn off my headphones. I received these in DEC2015. The only way I can get them to work is wear out the battery and then recharge them for a long period of time. (NOT IDEAL!!! for headphones I paid over $200 in June 2015.) Apple has been ok with replacing them but at this point I can't deal with the hassle of going to the Genius Bar to report the problem and then back to pick the replacement about every 4 to 6 weeks. APPLE >>>>> WHEN WILL I GET A SET OF HEADPHONES THAT ACTUALLY LAST OR A REFUND????????????? A frustrated Apple Customer!

SHOCKED. Ex Audio Engineers review of BEATS STUDIO HEADPHONES V2

OK, here it is: 1) SKIP wireless, sounds like s***. Huge hump at 125 cycles and extremley compressed (Bluetooth doesnt have the bandwidth) 2) SKIP the cable OK, here it is: 1) SKIP wireless, sounds like s***. Huge hump at 125 cycles and extremley compressed (Bluetooth doesnt have the bandwidth) 2) SKIP the cable with the pad (volume control). It too sounds terrible 3) USE THE STRAIGHT 3.5mm to 3.5mm Male to Male cable supplied. 4) Use local files if possible, streaming ok but local iphone, computer etc files OK. 5) Rememeber, AIFF is best, then Apple lossless, the AAC (mp4, or itunes), then the WORST is MP3. AAC streaming from Apple Music is quite good. I used to HATE Beats as much as Bose and ALL OTHER Beats products poor but the NEW VERSION of the Studio Headphones is incredible. Linear, firm bass, "tinkly" highs, smooth midrange, and amazingly listenable for hours, a traight that is very hard to find in a headphone. They retail for $380 but youcan get them for $260 or so. WELL WORTH $400, grab em for less. Trust me, givwn the above instructions, you'll be amazed. Their FIRST good product and its a winner. Enjoy!
