Great for saving money on Batteries!

    • Written by from Bennington

I have had my Mobee Charger for about 4 months. I work on my computer all day and was frequently replacing the batteries in my Magic Mouse before I got this. Now I just set it on the charger everyday when I go to lunch and it is charged up when I get back. So far I have not had it run out of batteries at all. It's a great asset if you use your computer a lot!

    Once Installed Right, Works Great

    • Written by from Riverton

The Mobee Magic battery pack does NOT install easily into the Apple Magic Mouse. The tiny metal part that sticks out (the part that touches the Magic Mouse and completes the battery circuit) breaks extremely easily. However, once the battery pack is installed correctly it works amazingly! It charges easily, quickly, and you never have to take it back out once you finally get it in. I would definitely buy this again (and did), but be very careful when you install it. It would be great to see Mobee improve on their design and either get rid of, or improve, that tiny metal part.

Great at first, but fails over time

    • Written by from Cottage Grove

I bought this charger at the Apple Store in May 2012. Since then, the occasional disconnects were because of low battery charge, and putting the mouse back on the charger always resolved those disconnect issues. In late December 2013, the disconnects became constant and the computer was almost unusable. No amount of recharging would help as the battery level % was pretty high. There had always been a lot of scratching on the bottom of this battery pack, but as I looked a bit closer, the battery pack was sagging so much I am not sure the mouse was making proper connections anymore. Too bad, it seemed like a great idea, but with less than 2 years of personal use, the battery pack is shot.

It would be nice if it worked

    • Written by from Union Dale

I really wanted this product to work. It's a great idea but it just isn't engineered right. The battery pack does not fit properly and this causes the mouse to lose the connection a few seconds after you touch the mouse.

Apple does not provide tech support for the product and apparently the manufacturer does not either.

I'm amazed that Apple even sells this in their store. Fortunately they will accept the returns but I wish I had not wasted my time.

DOA right out of the box.

    • Written by from Northampton

Spent $49 (huh?) at an official Apple dealer, thing won't charge. It's been 36+ hours, base station keeps blinking red.

Buy a good set of rechargeable batteries and charger. Forget this nonsense.

    Never ever worked.

    • Written by from Glendale

This thing was extremely difficult to install into the Magic Mouse. It was impossible to get it into correct position, and impossible to remove. Since it NEVER EVER charged, I had to THROW THE WHOLE MOUSE AWAY. FAIL.

    Works well, super convenient

    • Written by from Cedar Park

I have been using this charger for about a month now, and I am pretty happy with it. My only complaint would be that the charging indicator is inaccurate in on the Mac. From what I understand, that is because the batteries are 1.25, instead of 1.5 volts. It can be a little annoying because you really never know what the actual charge level is. That is the only reason I give it 4 stars out of five, and that might be a little unfair since that is really an Apple software issue.
So far I have been able to keep it off the charge for as long as a week before needing to recharge it.
I really don’t understand the confusion over how to install the batteries. It seems like it really only goes in one way, and once it is in there, it seems very secure. I don’t see any normal scenario where it would fall out if it were installed properly.
Good product so far, and so much more convenient that switching out rechargeable batteries every couple of weeks.

Should've read the reviews before buying

    • Written by from Oakland

Looks like mobee has an issue in their hands and don't seem like they fixed it besides sending a new one to replace your broken mobee, I'm sorry but I don't have time for that. I bought this thing earlier this morning at the apple store really eager to use, left it on the charger for about a hour before using and no luck! Been on this computer on and off for the past five hours trying to connect this mouse and for some reason I put in regular batteries and now my Magic Mouse cannot connect period? Did mobee just kill my Magic Mouse?! if it did I'm sure they better be replacing it! Anyways horrible experience trying to connect this thing! Will be returning tomorrow morning! /: was really hoping to use it and have its benefits come in good use, guess not this time mobee!

    nice idea, poor design

    • Written by from Harrison Township

Just impossible to easily insert and remove battery pack. The first one I bought just failed to re-charge after a short period. Even with the struggles trying get the darn thing out of the mouse, I went and purchased another battery pack. Worked great for while, but still not practical. When it runs down you can't wait around for it to recharge, to keep working the battery pack has to be replaced with regular batteries. Good luck removing the battery pack...now my mouse is destroyed try to extricate it.
The Apple Battery charger much more convenient, reliable, less expensive and a snap to replace batteries. Like I said...great idea, poor design. Save your money and your mouse. I cannot recommend this product with current design.

Battery set does not fit and is no good for professional use.

    • Written by from Knokke-Heist

First of all: the battery set does not fit in my Magic Mouse, it keeps falling out, so I had to fix it with a piece of tape.

Even worse: as a professional photographer, on an average day, I'm correcting and adjusting about 700 pics a day. That boils down to about 20.000 mouse commands. The battery charge will only last about 6 hours under these circumstances. So it's really no good for this kind of professional use. 50,- euro's (that's $67, 50% more expensive than in the US!) down the drain...

Unless.. I have a lemon and Mobee will come up with some miracle solution...

This was a cool option to replace battery use in my mouse at first. THEN it stopped holding a charge within months of operation. It is a piece of junk that would be better priced at $15 for the quality you get. I will not be buying another unit. Also, batteries should be sold separately because you will need replacements every few months but they aren't available to purchase separately. I highly do not recommend this product.

Drawing too much power? I'm not brave enough to experiment.

    • Written by from San Jose

I just bought this yesterday. Plugged it in, played around, seemed to be working fine. It wasn't fully charged of course, so I left the mouse on the charging pad overnight and this morning I had the following warning on my screen:

Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.

The only thing plugged into my computer was my apple keyboard, my 2nd gen ipad and the the Mobee Magic Charger. This was the new device. I don't know if this was a fluke or if this device is faulty. There's tiny type that says drawing too much power can damage your computer. I really can't afford to have this break my computer, so back it will go...

    Seroius waste of money

This sounds like a good idea, but the heavy battery case constantly loses contact with the Magic Mouse and makes the already hard to handle Magic Mouse even harder to use due to it's added weight.

I have been using this charger for 2 years and still using the same batteries. When I am done using the computer I just place it back on the charger. I am a heavy computer users and use the computer for hours, a lot of designer work and the batteries last forever, haven't had it run out on me when I am doing work. The charger is always pluged in 247, I never unplugged it since I've gotten it.

I haven't had to change the batteries yet. Before I got this I was having to charge my batteries every couple of hours. This is so great, I am very happy with it. Worth the $40.

    Good xxx

    • Written by from Lancaster

I really like this, it is really easy to use... you really just place the mouse on top and it charges it. I love it! It would have cost a lot in batteries otherwise haha xx The only bad thing about it is that when I got my fist one the top was up and wouldn't go down, but once changed I got a perfect one! I would recommend it to any person xxxxxx

A nice idea but not worth the trouble.

    • Written by from Calgary

If you're going to use this battery pack in your magic mouse, keep a lot of batteries or a corded backup handy.

You will feel good about being environmentally friendly.
You will feel good imagining never buying batteries again.

You will never consistently return the mouse to the charging pad after using it.
Your mouse will die and then you will have no mouse.
Your mouse will die at the most inopportune times.
The battery pack will swell and bulge and begin to scuff after a few months.
The flimsy metal around the clasp will snap in two places.
You will end up buying batteries anyway.
You will end up connecting a second corded mouse as a backup.

Beware of this product. just got it this week. Put the magic mouse on it over night. Next morning, Mini Mac w Mountain Lion wouldn't recognize it. Had been using it for months with batteries. Now its a light weight paper weight...
Reinstalled regular batteries, same thing. When activating the mouse, the active light on it turns green and stays green.

    Very bad product

    • Written by from chickasha

This product will always lose connectivity with your mac and the only way to resolve it is to go to bluetooth setting and delete it then do a search for it again all while turning mouse off and on until if finds it. This will happen about 6 TIMES in a workday. I have 15 workstations that all do it. So prepare to loose money while investing in this horrible product. Also the bottom cover pops off at least once a day that is really hard to make stay.
