    LITERALLY fell apart

    • Written by from Theodore

These headphones LITERALLY fell apart. The rubber on the side began to come off after normal wear and tear. I didn't wear them in extreme conditions or get them wet. I simply used them on my occasional trip to the gym or run. I contacted support but they were no help despite being something that should've been serviced. The pads that go into your ears fall off every time they are placed in your pocket or you leave the headphones hanging around your neck. I spent over $100 and the price dropped shortly after. Horrible experience over all.

Very comfortable, but audio tends to cut out

    • Written by from Cleveland

I have had these for at least 6 months and use daily. I think the best thing about these headphones is they are comfortable and stay put once paired with the right ear gels and clips. I can say that i have never had them fall off while working out or working in the yard. Sound quality is above average, but at certain volume levels, they cut out. Albeit for a quick second, but it is still rather annoying. I also have the Bluebud X's and while they dont stay in as well as the Pump's, the sound quality is much better and are better at cancelling out noise. The price point is much higher for those, so these are much more budget friendly. Not a bad investment overall, just not my favorite.

    Adequate performance

    • Written by from Xenia

These function adequately, but I'm not overly impressed. I have had them and used them for nearly a year. The volume that I can get is barely enough to overcome road noise of cars driving by. It seems that sometimes the volume starts very well, but by about 2 miles into my run, the volume drops so that even at the highest setting I can barely hear my podcast. The 'awareness' ear pieces are useless. They are just foam pieces that let in all the ambient sound and drown out what you are trying to listen to.

The other thing that needs improvement is the design of the way the rubber ear pieces fit onto the posts. They fall off too easily. I lost one. They come off when taking them out of your ears. It seems they should have some sort of detent, bump or ridge to hold the rubber price on.

I have used them now for this long and they do basically work and I have put quite a few miles on them.

in theory it works, practically speaking no

    • Written by

when they do work, they are amazing
but since I purchased these from the Apple Store in June, they have been wrought with problems

The blue earphone tips after 1 month of wear fall off at the slightest touch
when you replace them, they stay in place... but only for a month

yesterday my headphones stopped charging. completely. After 4 months of basic wear
I don't even run outside, just the apartment gym that I take the elevator to.
Even tried to update the firmware hoping that would work but no.

I gave their customer service a call and will see about their warranty. It was a Sat so left a message

The tips falling off I can understand, but it just stopped working after 4 months of minimal use... (yes I need to work out more) really not acceptable.

    Great for working out

    • Written by from Battle Creek

I love these little guys. The only drawback for me is the fit. Even with the smallest earbuds in place, they are just a tad large for me and I sometimes (not always) have a hard time keeping them in place. (They look like they were designed more toward men.) However, the sound quality is excellent and working out without the hassle of wires is great. Highly recommend.

    Unsatisfactory customer service!

    • Written by from BOULDER CREEK

I bought a pair of these at the Apple store in SF after they were highly recommended. They were bad right out of the box. The right side quit working if I turned my head to the left, made shorting and crackling sounds. If I held them with my hand in just the right position I could get sound out of both sides. I got about 75 feet away and they went out of range despite being able to see my iPhone. The good news is they fit really well and don't come out easily. As a matter of fact, one of the stabilizer pieces went right to the bottom of the pool and down the drain when I took them off and it flipped off the ear bud.

Their customer service went through every iteration possible -- having me tap them on a hard surface, try all the buttons, etc. The last straw was trying to tell me I had a bad bluetooth connection with my phone. After finally convincing them that I knew how to pair the headset with the phone because afterall it was working but only on one side. So they said to send a copy of my receipt and they would review it for a warranty replacement. They also said that I would know what the status was in 24 to 48 hours. That was 10 days ago. I sent an email asking what the status was and got the message back they were waiting for a tracking number. That was 5 days ago. Since then nothing!

So I'm still waiting and searching for another product I can take to the pool and gym because I don't think I'm ever going to see a replacement for these. The sound I did hear was great - in one ear.

Got one recently, very nice fit. They have alternative buds that you can choose from that would fit your ear-hole for better acoustic. Value for money I would say :-)

Not great... Uncomfortable and didn't work.

    • Written by from Minnetonka

The first set of these that I got only worked out of the right side. I returned them and got a second pair, but that one only worked out of the left. They are very uncomfortable and leave your ears sore if you use the stabilization clips, and if you don't use them, the sound quality is terrible because if they don't sit at the right angle, it's hard to hear. I bought 2 pairs because I love the idea of these headphones, and maybe I just got the 2 broken ones out of the factory. But regardless, I will not be purchasing a third pair.

    Close, but fatal flaw

    • Written by from Wellington

Easy to use and take off quickly. Short, behind neck flat cable is good. Secure on your ears. BUT the volume does NOT go high enough. If you are inside and it's quiet, it's ok. As soon as you are outside and moving, max volume is not enough. Not close. Disappointing as they are so close to being useful.

No Excuse Not To Exercise Now!

    • Written by from Forest Hill

I just got a pair of the Pump HD's.... I can't believe the range of the bluetooth. I use streaming services for my music, and now I can stream straight to my headphones from my phone (even if my phone is in my locker!) If you're looking for something that will really set you free when you're exercising, I recommend these for sure.

    Power music for Powerful life

    • Written by from Kansas City

I have been searching for a perfect pair of Bluetooth ear plugs for my workouts and running. I tried the Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 Earbuds, Jabra Wireless + and the JayBird Blue Bird Ear plugs. All of these three are in-ear phones and the best in music quality are the JayBird. They are pretty neat, but the only hitch is that they are on the very high end of the price tag at $169.

Just before I gave up, I saw another one on the rack - The PUMP HD Sports Buds from BlueAnts. These are priced at $129.95 and on the higher end, but you will not regret the investment. These Sports Buds sit around your ear giving them a firm grip and never to fall away from your ear.

The other highlight of these SportsBuds are that these are 100% waterproof. So, you can wear them when swimming too..

They feel very light on the ear, if there is no music playing, I am sure you will forget that there is something on your ear. I wear glass's and even with my glass on, I do not find them irritating at all.

I would not call them noice cancelling, but the moment you put them in your ears, you will be cut out from all the noise outside. I will not compare them to noice cancelling headphones, but I am sure you will close away from all the noise outside and just enjoy only your music.

The voice quality is just awesome. Crisp and Clear.

I can confidently say this after trying quite a few Bluetooth ear plugs, you can go with the PUMP HD SportsBuds. Worth every cent you pay for them.

Bluetooth is the way to go for working out... cords are not the best when dealing with movements and having to remember your corded to your iPod. Have been a fan of SD11 but these are lighter ... excellent audio - only drawback is the disconnection -- is not verbal when disconnecting from the iPod. its just a light.. you have to watch for. Otherwise.. does stay put

    Absolutely Brilliant

    • Written by from Windsor

I've just arrived back home in Melbourne Australia after a trip to New York where I bought a pair of these buds. Make sure you take the time to get the right size bud as it makes all the difference re the sound and boy what a sound, crystal clear and amazing base and excellent volume range. I went for a workout and left my phone in my locker and the buds worked all over the gym, no wire or phone to get in your way. I've also used them on a run on a hot day, a lot of sweat and the seal stayed firm and the buds will not get damaged as they are waterproof, I cleaned them in the shower! The main thing though is they never fall off or loose the seal which so many other buds have when you exercise. As I said I think they are brilliant

OMG .... What have they done ???

    • Written by from CALEDON

Pro - They fit very well, feel good, and are apparently Wx proof
    Cons :
    1) no call commands, or voice commands that are an amazing part of other Blue Ant products
    2) number/name announce for a call .... Gone .... What were they thinking ?
    3) tech support used to be amazing - Now their menu system says " For quality control, please leave your country, name, and the problem you are having ...... " They have chat support too .... Good luck finding it.
    4) sound ok, but certainly not for this price point .

I have had every Blue Ant product earpiece, and they have dropped everything that WAS so good about their product . Get the returns department ready Apple. Other than the fit, and the attractive box, I would give the product a 0, without hesitation.

    Disappointed up north !

Finally a pair of headphones that sound great and stay on.

    • Written by from San Francisco

These were surprisingly good, I say surprising because wireless has never been as good as wired for athletes. If you buy them try putting your phone in your gym bag and working out without your phone attached, it's very cool!

The overall sound quality is excellent and really loud. I found that I need to go through and try different ear tips to get the right fit, once I did the sounds quality is as good as any wired headphones I have worked out with. They come with 2 different ear tips sizes and also some foam 'awareness' tips which are supposed to allow you to hear cars and trucks when you are running.

Definitely well built. I washed the sweat off in the fountain after my workout. The manual says to make sure the charger area door is closed when doing that, but that's obvious. The headphones are extremely stable which is a bug plus for me. They're really snug and lightweight too. Finally some headphones that sound great and stay on.

I'm giving them 5 stars after using them for 5 days. I am sold.

    Stable fit, audio lacking

    • Written by from SCOTTSDALE

I try quite a few of the Bluetooth/exercise combo sets, the bluebud x's have been the king of them all for some time but for me, the fit of those are cumbersome while previous models from jaybird weren't. Always on the prowl for a better pair so tried these but returned.

The fit is as rock solid stable as they claim, they won't fall out. My issue was(and this differs for every individual), It was harder for me to achieve a proper seal and without it, the set didn't get loud enough to overcome that and ended up sounding very bad. I use comply foam tips on my x's so I tried them on these and while the seal was good then, the set again just doesn't get loud enough for my tastes. Even at its best with a good seal from the foam tips, it sounds good, but not audiophile quality as advertised and certainly not as good as the x's. At its worst without a good seal, that lack of volume just makes them sound very underwhelming. I give it 3 stars for it's superior fit and decent sound when sealed right but find them to be a average set priced at a premium level that is not able to beat out the sound of its competitors like the x's and backbeat go 2. Had they delivered even just equal sound to the x's, the fit and feel would have made them my prime pair that I would have used. They are bulky looking but didn't feel very bulky, felt light, felt nice. Again though, the sound difference wasn't very close hence the return.

As a side note, while waterproof, Bluetooth tech won't work under water anyway so they won't break while swimming, they won't work either.
