    Ridiculous for the price

This is the 2nd cord I've bought in 2 years. Mine keeps coming apart where u plug it into the computer. Considering the cost of the computer, & now the chargers, these cords should be make with a higher quality material. Very annoyed & disappointed!!

    Macbook charger

These chargers are absolutely garbage, they constantly break. I've bought a total of 3 for my macbook and I'm about to buy a 4th because they don't last. Very disappointing… What a waste of money. I have to buy it because I have all my school stuff on my macbook. The point is that these are garbage and they don't last. They have the lifetime of the iPhone charging cables

    Absolute Junk

I have gone through 3 of these things in 4 years. At 80 bucks a pop I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth it for a 4 year old laptop. The folks at Apple, of course, will tell you it's user error. Yet, I have adapters from other laptops that have lasted the better part of 10 years with daily use. Apple, I know a sturdier piece may not look as pretty, but it's time to do something about it. This is 2 or 3 failed adaptor designs in a row, stop calling it "user error", drop the excuses and do something about it.

    Embarrassingly defective

I have replaced this plug before because of the same problem. The wires pull from the L portion of the plug, and that makes charging the Macbook dangerous and sometimes impossible. However, for $80 we deserve a better and safer product. One of the teeth actually dislodged from the plug and remained in my surge protector. This lack of integrity is a breeding ground for disaster. Come on Apple! Do better!

Just ordered my 3rd in 4 years.

Please improve the quality of this product ASAP. This cord is supposed to be for use with a laptop. That means it should be flexible enough to withstand repeated wrapping/winding as people travel with it. I take my laptop to school 2-3 times a week, and yes, I use the cord with it when I take it. I don't necessarily consider this an unreasonable amount of strain, and yet when I looked at my cord today, it had split open just below the MagSafe attachment and the wires were visible. I don't feel I should have to spend $80 a year to be able to charge my MacBook safely. The ONLY reason I am ordering this again is because there is no generic version available.

I would give it 0 stars if possible

I have bought two of these chargers in the past year, and both of them have split and fallen apart. Its extremely frustraiting considering that they are $80. Apple needs to improve the durability of them asap.

    Absolute rubbish

Three of these have disintegrated on me in as many years, one of which resulted in a painful electric shock. For a company that prides itself on elegant, high quality products, why is this so terribly bad?

    Poor Quality Cable

The cable began to fray after 4 months of use. It's now been 11 months and has finally quit.

If you plan on having this charger for longer than I did make sure you're not wrapping your cable neatly around the designated prongs and storing it in its own cushioned pocket.

Just lay the cable flat on the ground and never, under any circumstance, touch it.

Guess I'll spend another $80 on my $2000 ultra book...

    Did not last

I have to replace it every year for about 4 years because the cord outside the box broke, and that happen every year with normal use. This charger have a very bad quality, apple should improve in this, make it heavy duty like the extension cord.

    Mac Book Pro Charger

My charger's wire has been broken for quite a while but this scared me. I smelled something like burning rubber and looked over at my charger. A split in the wire was glowing bright orange. It wasn't flickering or sparking, just the wires inside were glowing orange, down towards the charging box. It's a reasonably new charger, had it for two years. Very upset.

    Power adaptor red hot

I recently used the adaptor to charge the mac, after apx 45 minutes it was red hot. Is that normal? I've not had that experience with other power leads when charging laptops.

    Good Quality Product

I'm not sure about all the horrible reviews, but I got just over 5 years of use with my charger before it started to break and fray around the top. I move it between plugs all the time around my house and am not overly gentle with it. I don't think it's bad that I need to replace it after 5 years, especially after my previous PC computer needed replacement cords every 8 months.

    Volatile technology.

I bought my first power adapter and enjoyed how it lasted me the duration of time I spent in community college before biting the dust. After it stopped working I spent the money on a new one around Christmas time. I haven't even made it through January and this cable did the same thing. The wire is destroyed and I'm not sure how (or why, because I take care of my technology). It looks like the wire explodes without rhyme or reason with no way to fix it at home. I am not incredibly satisfied with the volatile nature of this product. I would expect a more durable piece of equipment for the price they put on this product. I enjoy my mac, but I'm not interested in constantly spending an outlandish amount of money for a piece of equipment that is, at best, less than dependable.

    New design, PLEASE!

My MagSafe Power Adapter is destroyed after 4 years of having my Mac... I guess I've been lucky that it didn't happen before.
Anyway... it's still quite painful having to pay $79 + taxes for this product... So overpriced as usual in Apple products.

    Bad quality

I have some pretty old laptops (HP, ASUS, DELL), and I've never had to replace power adapters on any of those laptops. The 60W magsafe of my Macbook though broke--the wire broke just outside the small white box. So, I had to replace it. I wasn't going to pay over $100 for a new Apple one, so I bought a generic one. I was expecting a good quality power adapter from Apple, but now I am quite disappointed. Apple should really improve the quality of this product. Shame on Apple if they don't.
