Volume Rocker and Start/Stop works only sometimes....

    • Written by from Auburn

So I have done an extreme amount of research and have not found any info as to why these earbuds just stop working... Its extremely frustrarting. The only thinig I have found to work is to plug it into the wall charger or computer, hit play, unplug the headphones, turn up the volume on the side, then plug the headphones back in and THEN it will work again. Let me just tell you right now. I should not have to do all this with an expensive top quality product such as this. Disappointed to say the least...

    I'm sticking with Skull Candy

    • Written by from South Bend

This is NOT an improvement over your previous hideous earbuds. They slip out of my ears and are uncomfortable. In your quest to keep the look "clean", you forgot two things:

    1) COMFORT

I cannot multitask while wearing these because they keep slipping out of my ears and hurt because I keep trying to shove them in deeper to keep them from coming out. Why can't you just make headphones that actually stay put and are comfortable. Also, because they don't have the rubber, the outside noise becomes a distraction. People put rubber on earbuds for a reason, you know.

    earbuds are horrible!!!

    • Written by from McDonough

I've only had the iphone 5 for about 23 days and hardly ever use the earbuds, then today they started crackling and the volume on the in-line mic won't work!! I mean I've kept these things in a zipper pouch for God's sake!!! I thought these were supposed to be "SO MUCH BETTER"--RIGHT.

    False Advertising

    • Written by from Kennewick

The sound quality is not enough to make me like these. They don't fit my ears. They are painful and won't stay in. I'm only walking around campus and they fall out. They need to be reshaped. They advertised that these would fit ears better because they weren't shaped like circles because ears aren't shaped like circles. I don't know what kind of shape this is supposed to be but no normal persons ears are shaped like this.

    Im really surprised!!!

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

I don't know why customers are enjoying this headsets and talk positive about it!!. Yes i agree , it has a nice smart shape, but its useless !!. It fall from my ear once i decided to do any simple move!!. Its very slippery!!. Actually the older ones were far more practical than the new ones. If they added a rubbery cover on the head of the each , it might be more stable in the ear canal !! The solution might be that simple!!.
Very disappointed and i can say that Apple need to spend more time in working on better headsets for their devices!.

    Poor Quality and Painful

    • Written by from Dublin

These headphones are by far the worst I have ever owned. First, the sound quality is very poor. Due to the offset speakers, music sounds echoed when played through them. Second, they are painful to wear. I have never had any problem with headphones fitting and being comfortable in my ears before I got these. Within a week of using these, i had sores in my ears and their edge had actually cut the inside of my ear. Overall, Apple EarPods would be better put to use as torture devices than being sold as headphones.

    Not good!

    • Written by from Elkhorn

These headphones do not stay in my ears!!! I bought the new iphone 5, and was excited about the new headphones. Although they looked new and comfortable I soon found out they are not good at all! I am a runner, and every 100 yards I find myself sticking them back in. And the volume control is not as connivent as one would think. It is easier to control the volume on the phone.

I find these very painful, I finally stopped using them yesterday after hoping the pain would somehow stop, and today my ears are still sore. They are not a good fit at all, they have no soft features, and appear to be designed for larger ears. I'm pretty tall so I wouldn't have thought I had tiny ears. I can't use this product any more.

    Won't stay in my ears!

    • Written by from Madison

I hate to say it, but the old buds are better.

Apple needs to put a coating of rubber or silicone on the surface to they stay put in people's ears.

They won't stay in, no matter how hard I try.

    New EAR PODS ARE horrible

    • Written by from Troy

I purchased these earpods to replace the old ear pods that I used with my Nano, and iphone. These ones are horrible. Please bring the others back. These hurt my ears after FIVE minutes of use, and if you breathe - they fall out. They are not useful I would not recommend them to anyone

Waste of money. Whose ears were these designed for?

    • Written by from New York

I was so hopeful that the new design would stay in my ears better, especially after the salesperson raved about how great they are during exercise. I get annoyed by the old style falling out when I'm running. But the only way these will stay in - loosely - are if I'm completely still. And forget wearing any earrings, even small studs, with these. The extended plastic from the pods clack against them while walking.

Not only that, the "clasp" used to hold each side's wires together is useless, since it doesn't stay put. Huge disappointment and waste of $30.

    Very painful

    • Written by from Ames

I have tried for the last month to get used to wearing these headphones. They are extremely painful to wear, even after 10 minute of use. It doesn't matter how great the sound quality is if they don't fit. I think the old model was more comfortable and blocked out background noise better.

    poor workmanship

    • Written by from Plantation

The Apple Earpods with Remote and Mic did not meet my expectations. I was looking forward to better headphones from Apple to use during my workout at the gym. Instead I still experiencing the same problem I had with the old apple headphones. This new apple earpods does not stay inside my ear during my workout and feel very uncomfortable in my ear, which cause pressure against my inner ear. I also get headaches because of the uncomfortable headphones pressing against my inner ear. The only improvement is the audio quality of the new apple earpods headphones. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with the new apple earpods headphones.

    Poor fit

    • Written by from Cardiff

Like others I was attracted by the promise of the research done to ensure Apple's EarPods would fit, but after persuading my nearest and dearest that they were what I wanted for Christmas my experience of the EarPods in use has been very disappointing. They fall out so easily that they require adjustment or re-insertion more than 20 times in a 10-minute walk to the shops. In addition, they are uncomfortable because in an effort to get them to stay in there's a tendency to give them a real inwards push. I normally go for an hour's walk each day whilst listening to my iPod touch, but after trying to get used to the EarPods I'm going back to my over-ear headphones. It's a pity, because I do like the pause button facility and I have no problems over the sound quaility, but for me the poor fit makes the EarPods unusable.

    Bad Fit

    • Written by from Colorado Springs

Much worse than the original ear buds. Does no one at Apple move around while using ear buds? They are fine if you're sitting very still. If you walk, run, or move, they will fall out. The plastic is too smooth for normal day to day life usage.

Sorry, must have bad ears - keep falling out.
The rubber band around my head to hold them in kept leaving an ugly red line on my forehead.

    Painfully uncomfortable

    • Written by from Ashburn

Not just uncomfortable but painful! Not a hint of softness. Seems to be designed for people with large ear canals. Even when I try to settle them in very gently, barely nudging them in there, they hurt badly. Sound quality is nice if you find them bearable. Pretty looking.
