    Worst Ever

    • Written by from Greensboro

They are too big for my ears and very uncomfortable. Also, it's causing a lot of pain in my ear because, the side speaker is scraping against my ear, causing it to be sore and raw.

    They don't fit

    • Written by from Southfield

I upgraded my 4s to a 5s and these came in the packaging. Before I upgraded my phone I've seen these headphones in the store and thought "that's a stupid design, how does that fit in your ear?" Clearly, I have more brains than the folks at apple. I usually use skullcandies and I really like the suction they offer. These headphones are plastic and just slip out. They actually don't fit in at all. I also have my tragus pierced on both ears. I have to flip the ring up to get these in and they still don't stay. I've never had to adjust my piercings with previous headphones. I'm disappointed. From what I gathered they sound ok though.

    Useless. And I'm baffled.

    • Written by from Cornwall

I'm baffled at how such a useless product ever got approved by Apple. The whole point of earbuds (or pods as Apple calls it), is that they should fit snuggly in your ear, comfortably, WITHOUT FALLING OUT. That is why just about every other earbuds out there have rubber caps or rubber lining, some even come with extra rubber caps with different sizes to fit the shape of your ear.

Apple's earpods seem like a cool idea in theory, but what good is it if you can't even use them? They come with no rubber caps or lining, therefore there is absolutely no grip, just smooth plastic. And the shape of these pods don't fit my ear very well and they simply slide right out. Did Apple design these earpods thinking everybody on planet earth has the exact same shape and size of ears? How could they have overlooked this problem? This is quite possibly Apple's stupidest design to date.

    Worst Apple product this decade

    • Written by from Decatur

These new earphones are unbelievably uncomfortable. I can't wear them more than 10-15 min without an ear ache. The previous version were the best "cheap" earphones out there, and these just don't fit at all for me. They don't sound awful, but when you can't wear them for more than very short term what is the point!

Definitely do not fit ears of all sizes

    • Written by from Burlington

Sound quality is great, mic is great, one problem: they are too big to fit in my ears.... which not only makes them extremely uncomfortable but makes them impossible to use because every time I move they fall out.

    Apple Earpods

    • Written by from Melbourne

While these earpods sound better than the previous ones, the bass of the music protrudes into the inner ear causing my ears to ache. I mean the quality of the earpods are definitely of high quality, but my ears did not benefit from the new shape. I have been having earaches and had to stop listening to my ipod because my ears were screaming. Tried adjusting the volume but if it is turned down too low you cannot hear the music but only the bass instruments.

I've never had an issue with any other type of earbuds before but these are so uncomfortable! After 10-15 minutes they hurt terribly. I feel like the insides of my ear are bruised from wearing them.

The sound quality is also supposed to be improved with these but I've noticed no difference from my old earbuds.

I guess they must work well for some people's ears but I will be switching to a different brand.

    Not for smaller people

    • Written by from Washington

Excruciating to wear. Earbuds were always uncomfortable for me, but these are actual agony. I never knew my ears were that much smaller than other people's. I'm a bit short, but not an outlier - 5'2" is a relatively common height for women. Maybe ear size is height-independent.

Fall out all the time, broke after a year

    • Written by from San Diego

These came with my iPhone 5. They seemed good at first, good quality sound. However they always fell out of my ears. After a year one of the buds started giving much quieter sound so they became useless and I threw them away. I bought some Shure 215s and *wow*, way better sound, thumpier bass, great sound isolation, and they stay in my ears. It was then that I realized the earpods are garbage. I doubt Apple will ever improve them because Apple doesn't listen to what it's customers want. Just try submitting a bug report of feature improvement of any kind if you want proof of that, all you get is zero response. That's why Apple is just a marketing company, not a tech company.

    Are you serious!?

    • Written by from Cold stream

I got an iPhone 5c for Christmas and these came with them! I was so happy to finally have headphones. I was listening to music on the way home and I fell asleep with them in my ears. I woke up 3 hours later and the inner part of my ear (where they go) was really hurting but I figured it wouldn't last long. 13 days later my inner ear still hurts. It's like the earphones molded my ear. NO IN-EAR EARPHONES FIT IN MY EAR ANYMORE!! Not even these ones!!

    Never stay in

    • Written by from Pittsburgh

So, I was under the impression that these were designed to have a better fit than the earbuds. Not that case with me. I don't feel that my ear are awkwardly shaped, but for whatever reason these don't stay in. I don't even have to be doing anything. Merely talking will cause them to wiggle loose from my ears and cause them to fall out.

Sound quality doesn't seem like too much of an improvement from the earbuds. Honestly, I was very disappointed with these. Got them with my iPhone 5c, which is fine since I didn't waste any money on them. I'd definitely go with the earbuds over these. Not worth the money.

    Great sound but don't last

    • Written by from Toronto

Quality has dropped, my original pair lasted over a year, but now i'm on my 3rd pair in 5 months. The cord at the jack input went on every pair quickly, very disappointed. Sound quality is excellent while they last, but longevity is very poor.

Work as advertised, but don't fit all ears

    • Written by from Miami Shores

My "ear-holes" are on the small side. I use the smaller adaptors on various devices, including aviation in-ear headsets. These one-size-fits-all EarPods just don't fit. They are too big, they don't seat well, they fall out, etc. Probably a great product for you big-ear people. I wish they came in different sizes.

The design is well done as usual... Apple. But the confort and practicality!...Zero. The EarPods comes out of your ears every single moves. Apple, it is time to step up! competition is present and even faster than ever...

Product is overrated and overpriced. Quality is identical to the $5 earphones I was looking to replace. The $5 pair was also way more comfortable. Planning to return immediately for a refund.

    They only fit "standard" ears

    • Written by from Carmichael

These things might be OK for someone that has ears the same size as the engineer that designed them, but for me they will not stay in my ear and cannot seal enough to give any bass response. They fall out constantly and there is no way that I can make them stay in. They need to have an over-ear clip or some other way of securing them in your ear, otherwise they are useless.

    Save Your Money

    • Written by from Homer Glen

Unless you jam these things into your ear canals really hard, they don't stay in place. Constantly having to push them back in. Sound quality is decent (as long as they stay in place.)

Wish I could return these, complete waste of money IMO.
