    Beware Beige case

    • Written by from Northwood

Case if great but.... have to unfortunately agree with other reviews here, the beige case gets dirty very quickly and of more concern is the leather as its peeling off our case after just three days of use. Its going back tomorrow.

    Already on my second case!

I wish I didn't have to make this review, but was compelled to do so. WARNING! Aniline leather does not fair well, especially if you're pulling your phone out of your jean pocket frequently as my beige colored one started to show dark marks on the corners and edges after 3 days of use! Be prepared to buy leather cleaners/conditioners to maintain the case. With that said though I still am very happy with it since the case wraps on my 5s like a glove and I like the buttery feel of the leather. I just wish I didn't have to watch how I handle the phone since I'm always worried I'd scratch it and have the same marks show up again :( I replaced my beige to the brown just in case it gets marked up it'll at least blend with brown better. I would've given this 5 but since I had to swap it so I knocked it down a couple.

    good case, bad color

    • Written by from Birmingham

The case fits well and isn't bulky but the beige color gets dirty too easily. I've tried cleaning it but the dirt and spots don't come off. I would recommend the case but in another color

Beautifully made case with some caveats.

Reading the mixed reviews for this case on the Apple Store made it a a bit of a tough decision to purchase. However, after reading most negative reviews were left for the colored cases I knew I wanted black leather and continued to order. Once the case arrived the packaging was very minimal. The case felt great and well constructed. My iPhone 5S slipped right into it. With a weeks use, I decided to take it off to clean the interior of the case and things that might have gotten trapped inside of it. Removing the case was not at all difficult as some here made it out to be. I simply pressed the phone in the camera opening until I got a corner and removed it.

Now, having the case a couple weeks the leather started to tear inside of the top left of the case. I'd say the case isn't as snug as i'd like either. (Mine never was extremely snug) The case leaves about .020 to .030 of clearance around the sides. Sometimes the corners of my phone "pop" out as well; while not coming out of the case, but just barely.

Overall, I like the case and am satisfied with it. The microfiber lining is great and nearly guarantees you the back of your phone stays new. The reasoning I give this case only three stars however is the price. I feel this is not a 40.00 case. I'd say its worth about half of that. It is a wonderful case, just feels as apple had this designed, produced and shipped within an 8 hour period.

My troubles are finding a case as gentle as this one, and I'd recommend it as long as you're OK with the consequences of owning a not very high quality leather, leather case. (But of course your'e OK with it. You're an Apple fan as I am!)

Was a 5 star review until recently

I have the brown leather case and have absolutely loved it for the bast 8 months. Strongly advised it to all my mates who have asked as i adored it. Until last month. The case no longer fits securely on the iPhone, I dont know if its stretched because its leather, but it now slides off very easily. I did not think this was a big problem though until I accidentally dropped it. It was a small drop onto concrete, however, it was face down. Picked it up thinking nothing of it as it happened all the time and the case had always protected it, but then after turning it over I saw that the screen was completely smashed and the phone was pretty much out of the case. Was not impressed, rest of the phone doesn't have a scratch on it due to the micro-fiber on the inside of the case and the case is beautiful, however, now I have a iPhone with a smashed screen and I need to pay £140 to get the screen replaced by Apple due to their own product not lasting.

i thought it was suppose to fit perfectly

    • Written by from Walnut

it doesn't. at least not for mine. the sides were a bit lose and does not wrap around my 5s perfectly like it said it would so that was disappointing. but the feel and color is great.

    Apple "leather case?

    • Written by from BELMONT

I bought the Apple-branded black leather case and I think it feels like rubber on the outside. The inside has a "nubuck" sort of look and feel. But the outside doesn't feel like leather to me and it is a bit slippery but not terribly so. Maybe it will break in like leather does. For $39 this should be a knock-out case and I am still on the fence. My wife bought the blue leather version and loves it. So definitely in the "hand" of the beholder! Time will tell. Fit is excellent and the weight and size is quite reasonable with the feel of very good protection.

I bought this case about 2 months prior of it release and when I first put it on I fell in love. It was sleek, smooth, not bulky at all, I was shocked. I told myself I would not buy another case ever again. Oh I spoke too soon. This case started wearing or changing color the next day and I was furious. I would try to cleaning cloth and it seemed to go away but then when you'd try to dry it off then it would get bigger and darker. So i went back to the apple store and returned it. Maybe i'll give it another try. maybe the black one this time.

Nice at first, not very durable

    • Written by from Blandinsville

Out of the box, this case looks and feels beautiful. The leather is soft and has a premium look and feel and the case fits snugly over the phone. The buttons were a little hard to press at first, but got better with time. A few weeks later however, the leather began to discolor from the oils from your hand and the edges became very worn. Now the case is a dull pale color and the edges are totally worn. Still protects the phone but looks ugly. If you decide to purchase this case, you better be prepared to treat it like a baby if you want to keep it looking good.

Excellent fitment but gets dirty relatively quickly

    • Written by from Elmhurst

The leather on the case feels great and looks great when brand new. I purchased the case the day they came out so I've had it on my phone for a little over two months now and just within the past couple weeks, it has really started to show the dirt. I work from a home office so I'm not out during the day and my phone just sits on my desk. It really shows the dirt around the edge on the face (I place my phone screen side down) as well as where your fingers/palm hold the phone on the backside. The case fits great and is very snug so no issue with protection. I haven't dropped it so I don't know how it would hold up that way. Overall a great case but if I could buy again, I'd get a black one. This color is just too light and shows way too much grime.

clean, snug, but lacks on quality

    • Written by from Tacoma

Fits well, but lacks on quality. After the first week, the leather was starting to ware. I would go with a speck case. hope I helped!
