which is the better laptop for an audio production major ? Also do other work - papers, e-mails, spreadsheets, etc.

  • If you're doing just audio production, papers, e-mails, and spreadsheets, you probably don't need to spend the extra $200 to get the Retina MacBook Pro. So you choose between the MacBook Air (I strongly suggest getting the 13in. MacBook Air), and the MacBook Pro non-retina.

Are you moving around a lot while you work, lugging your laptop around to coffee shops and the like? The MacBook Air is more portable, but you sacrifice some power, so if you really need power, get the MacBook Pro.
